Victory Hearing & Balance is a local practice, we’ve helped thousands of our neighbors in the Austin Texas area achieve optimal hearing and a superior quality of life. We have experience treating mild and severe hearing loss in both children and adults.

History

Established in 2003.

Our philosophy is that a comprehensive audiological evaluation is the first step in getting help for your hearing problems. At Victory Hearing & Balance Center, we offer new patients a free hearing screening and consultation to see if a comprehensive exam is warranted. If so, and hearing aids are indicated, we will offer you sufficient information to determine what style and technology will work well for you. We offer patients a variety of hearing aid choices from prominent manufacturers. Our unique fitting process helps us determine an overall picture of your listening needs and instrument style preferences, as well as your budget. Whether electing to use the latest in 100% high definition digital technology, programmable technology, or conventional hearing aids, all of our instruments have the highest patient satisfaction ratings in the industry. There is no one brand or style of hearing aid that works best for everyone.

I wish I went to see Dr. Alan Franklin 5 years earlier.
I went to see him because I was having trouble hearing my coworkers when they spoke to me. I was also having trouble understanding the TV.
I tried to work with a different ENT, but they were very hard to work with. After I started going to Victory Hearing, everything went much smoother.
Dr Franklin tested my hearing and fitted me with hearing aids. After the fitting, he ran extra tests to make sure they were working perfectly. I felt he went over and above to fine tune them.
A few weeks later, I was having a little trouble with one of my accessories that connects my iPhone to my hearing aids. Dr Franklin was able to reconfigure that accessory so that now it works great.
Dr. Franklin took the time to get everything right. I have been very happy that I chose Victory Hearing.

I can’t say enough about my experience with Dr. Franklin and his staff at Victory. I had an initial consultation with another hearing aid group and it was a disappointing experience. They did not listen to what I wanted and just started «selling from the first minute». Dr. Franklin took the complete opposite approach! He was consultative from the first session truly wanting to understand by goals for my hearing. He took function and cosmetics into account and came up with a perfect solution. So important for someone that has never worn hearing aids. He also clearly has the highest level of truly medical certification. He’s an MD in his field, where many others just get a certification and start selling hearing aids. The follow up since my initial appointment has been outstanding and I would recommend Dr. Franklin without hesitation, can’t imagine a better experience. Only regret is I didn’t do this earlier, and my wife and kids are happy I can finally hear them!

A little while back, I brought my 90 year old grandmother to see Dr. Franklin. She doesn’t speak a whole lot of English. Dr. Franklin was very patient and thorough when he tuned her hearing aids. Then he set them so she wouldn’t have to tune them herself. So much easier! I would definitely recommend Victory Hearing and Balance.

Victory Hearing and Balance /​Dr. Franklin has been very helpful for me, in general consultation, hearing testing, and getting a set of custom made musicians earplugs.

The Westone custom made earplugs did not include frequency response in the included product literature, and I have not investigated further. Low frequencies tend to move through stuff easier, and I don’t know if these earplugs are sufficient hearing protection for say 100dB at 75Hz, which you can easily find at a live music performance.
Getting fitted for the earplugs involves the doctor handing small cotton plugs, and inserting them deep in the ear canal before pouring a mold. I would highly recommend you require your doctor to put on nitrile gloves before handling material that goes deep in your ear canals.
Safe noise levels are less than 85dB, and it’s very easy to get exposed to much more, whether movie theaters, church, music venues, air travel, etc. Protect your hearing. Get yourself a portable dB meter and when in doubt, wear hearing protection.

Allan L. Franklin did an excellent job of getting me into a pair of hearing aids that work so well that I am excited about putting them on every morning. These hearing aids worked from the moment I put them on with no adjustment phase or trouble getting used to them. I am so happy I got started wearing them now because they work! All of my friends and family are relieved because we can have a normal conversation now.
