I’ve lived at Twenty 15 for almost 2 years now and not being from Austin this was my first experience with renting in the Austin area. I have loved living here, it’s a quiet area with extremely nice neighbors that have always been friendly when I see them. The apartment itself has been enjoyable, there are a few areas that need improvement but nothing that ruined my living experience here. I really want to brag on the maintenance guys at this property, they are AMAZING and so quick to respond anytime I need them! The electric bills run really high which is why I didn’t give it 5 stars, granted I like my apartment pretty cool but other than that I’m sad to be moving!

This apartment complex doesn’t have working security gates, but remains peaceful most of the time. Once I drove in from Houston at 11:45 pm to find four police cars in front of my building but that was the only odd occurrence.
The apartment units are beautiful inside. I love the kitchens in particular. My apartment unit on the first floor doesn’t have much storage space: the water heater sits inside the bedroom closet. The stacked washer/​dryer provided occupies most of the storage closet in my patio. The volume of the provided personal washer/​dryer is pretty small so you’ll have to do your laundry pretty often or just split up each load into multiple loads.
Recently the washer leaked and water got into my bedroom carpet. I noticed an odd smell but didn’t realize until a week later when I found black mold growing on the carpet. Maintenance promptly fixed the leak, dried the carpet, and cleaned the carpet.
I also have ants crawling around the living room but that might be something normal for anyone living on the first floor anywhere. Also it doesn’t help that there are bits of duck food on the living room floor.
The staff is friendly and professional. When they say they’ll do something, they follow through. Maintenance requests are addressed immediately and they actually seem to do a good and thorough job with repairs.
There is free Wifi in the lobby/​clubhouse. There’s free coffee in the clubhouse. The gym is in the clubhouse. It seems like a nice gym from the one time I used it. The pool looks pretty and I hear people using the pool on weeknights. Other residents I’ve met or encountered seem quiet, friendly, and not rowdy. The apartment management holds monthly Waffle Socials and other resident events regularly.
The lighting in the apartment complex at night is a little lacking. I generally feel safe enough to take trash down to the dumpsters at midnight but would still prefer more and brighter lights in the parking lot. I live in Building 1 which is the first building next to the entrance so finding parking in front of my unit after 9 pm is generally hard Sunday through Wednesday. However, there is always parking on the east side – only a short walk away. There are recycling bins on the east side but they’re often full so I’d rather take my recycling to Ecology Action downtown.
My car feels safe here at night. I’ve never seen broken glass in the parking lot or anything so much as noticeable trash. The grounds are adequately-​maintained. I see a lot of cockroaches in the outside entryway.
My least favorite thing is the footstep sound from my upstairs neighbor. I think it’s a guy and he must be heavyset to sound like an elephant. He gets up at 5:10 am on weekdays and 6 or 7 am on weekends and the footsteps usually wake me up. I try to wear earplugs at night but sometimes they still fall out of my ears. He spends an hour getting ready to go to work so I’m usually woken up and forced to remain awake from 5 – 6 am on weekdays. Getting through days with 4 – 5 hours of sleep is painful. :-(This is really the only reason this apartment complex doesn’t get 5 stars. If you’re a light sleeper, I recommend getting a top level unit. Twenty15 has the best ceiling sound insulation of all the apartments I’ve lived in. The footstep sounds are more subdued than at other places.
The temperature in my first-​floor unit remains cool during the summers and warm during the winters (without using the heat or air conditioning). That is pretty rare in a wonderful way. My air conditioner has never worked and I’ve never filed a maintenance request for it because I don’t need it.
The location near Parmer and Mopac is very convenient for getting onto Mopac or I-​35. There is also an HEB, two Starbucks, Fry’s Electronics, gas stations, the Palms Car Wash with free vacuums, the Hideout Pub, hospitals, and lots of good restaurants nearby. The Walnut Creek Greenbelt is also within walking distance. There is also a bus stop right in front on Cedar Bend Dr. or you can walk another block to Metric Blvd.

A bargain for the money if you can get in. One heck of a convenient location too with easy access to Mopac.
These folks spent a TON of money renovating the place and it shows inside and out.

I’ve lived here since summer-​2014, and so far the apartment complex has been great! I just wish it were closer to downtown, but that isn’t their fault.
I’m updating my previously 4-​star review to make it a 5-​star. After several situations that I took to management, I am just amazed at how well they handle everything — even things that seem out of their control completely! Trust me, I’ve never said anything like this about an apartment management before. I just really like and trust these guys from what I’ve seen so far.
The new gym is wonderful. My husband and I both quit our gym memberships and use theirs almost daily. It has so much equipment!
Pros:
— Nice/​updated appliances
— Can get laminate flooring in all but bedrooms if you want a bottom-​unit (great for those with dogs or children).
— Management always friendly when picking up packages or paying for things.
— Maintenance has been very quick and efficient.
— Parking spots are HUGE and plentiful.
— Dog amenities are plentiful, and they keep the dog waste picked up. The maintenance crew here is always working hard to make this place feel beautiful and like home.
— Convenient to shopping, grocery stores, post offices, pharmacy, doctor, etc.
— New pool is very nice and perfect for tanning or grilling out with friends.
Cons:
— It doesn’t always feel safe. Surrounding neighborhood has some crime rates, and the gate is always open at night. There are no alarms installed. Management does keep an eye out, though, and so far there have not been any break-​ins that I am aware of. It would be nice if the entrance gate worked to keep non-​residents out.

Note that they’re changing their name to «twenty15 Apartments».
I’ve lived here for 20 months, and they sure flew by fast. I’m renting from another place for about a month now, so I feel justified in making comparisons.
Parking:
What I liked about this place is the parking. I lived in an apartment facing Park Bend, so I’m not near the entrance. As a result, I’ve never had any issues with finding parking spaces and even when I did, I only had to walk 5 extra seconds; no big deal. I feel that parking here is more abundant because there aren’t any reserved, covered parking options to take up space.
Living conditions:
As a single dude living in a 1/​1, the appliances were all working and I never had any real issues to deal with. One instance my heater wasn’t blowing hot air, but maintenance got that fixed within the week. My washer dryer was the most problem-​ridden, with knobs falling off. The buttons on my microwave also stopped working with the exception of 7, 8, and 9. Nothing will test your math skills more than this, believe me. Most of the stuff was a bit old, but they’re doing a community-​wide renovation.
Gym:
The 24-​hour gym is small, but one of the better apartment gyms that I’ve seen. The dumbbells go up to 50 lbs. Most of the time, only one of the two treadmills and one of the two ellipticals were out of order, so that was a pretty big downer if multiple people want to get their cardio in. The average number of people in the gym at once is around 3 during the busy hours, so not bad at all. I’ve done hour-​long workouts without sharing the gym with anyone.
Staff:
I’ve never really had to deal with the staff concerning serious issues. Most of the time it’s to ask simple questions, pay rent, or get a package. The staff is pretty nice and welcoming.
Safety:
They have a gate at the front that requires a keycard/​password to open in order to enter the complex, but I’ve only seen it working maybe a total of 2 months during my 20-​month stay. They’re usually open all day and all night. Funny thing is that you do have to wait for the gates to open when you leave. Aside from that, I’ve never had any safety issues; my car or unit was never broken into.
Location:
The location is just awesome. Short driving distance to Mopac and Parmer, HEB, Walmart, hospitals, and restaurants.
Water outage:
They occasionally have water outages, but they usually schedule it during the 9 – 5 working schedule. One time I was home during the water outage and my water didn’t get cut off at all.
Improvements I would recommend:
— More lighting in the complex. Driving back home at night can get a bit nerve-​wracking since it can get pretty dark.
— Fix community issues quicker. Whenever a piece of equipment in the gym is broken, it takes weeks for it to get fixed. The basketball goal (back when the apartment had one) had its backboard smashed, it never got fixed. I tried playing basketball once and the shards popped my basketball. it was a sad day.
— Make more of an effort to keep your loyal residents than to get new ones all the time.
I would’ve definitely stayed here for another lease if the rent prices not have skyrocketed due to renovation. If the prices are within your budget, I really recommend this apartment complex.

It’s hard to beat the price and location! Jaime just toured us in the rain and my client loved it. They are completely renovating the clubhouse, and they are installing a dog park! Ciera and Jay are very attentive and friendly. Everyone has a smile on their face when you walk in. W/​d connections are on the patios due to the age of the community, but the upgrades are really nice. Quartz counter tops, woods floors in select units, faux wood blinds, really nice carpeting, and stainless steel appliances are just part of what’s going on here! Check them out!

I signed a lease 3.5 years ago and never had 1 complaint. That was, until a new management company took over and decided to try and «upgrade» every little thing. I’ll agree that the individual apartment renovations look nicer than before. However, it is much much cheaper than before, as I’m sure it is to save money.
2 months ago my upstairs neighbors moved out & their place was renovated. Not only did I hear the loud tool/​work noises from 7am-​8pm, but the people doing the work were literally living and sleeping up there. I would hear their music, talking and drinking «fun» going on until 2−3am. They would also come and go throughout the night shutting the door and running down the stairs.
My main complaint since the new management took over:
I’ve called repeatedly over my neighbors dog whom is allowed to poop and pee on their balcony. They are too lazy to walk her and I got tired of seeing her lay/​walk/​have to avoid her own waste. Oh– and smelling it. Did the office do anything the 4 times I called? No. They disregard the common happiness of their current/​long-​time residents. They focus more on giving new leasers «first month move-​in deals.»
As someone mentioned in another post– the construction AKA renovation crews live in the apartment they are reconstructing. Illegal? Yes. Annoying? VERY!
This speaks for itself as far as greedy goes.
I’ve never gotten so many «notices» on my door as I have the past few months:
* No furniture outside unless it’s licensed patio furniture.
* No flags of any sort. Including the American flag.
* No yard décor. IE: fake flowers, gnomes, gardens, etc…
* No bowls or rain gauges.
* No lights, except prior to holidays.
* Bikes cannot be left of patios or stairwells.
All of these come with a $ 200 fine.
They also recently did an apartment ‘walk through’. They posted to have any animals locked up and no doors were to be dead bolted. Supposedly this was to check for safety issues.
Well my roof in caving in with condensation and mold, my fire extinguisher had been broken (reported but they never followed up), smoke detectors as well, shower floor was cracked, the AC filter they gave me was the wrong size and my wall has a huge 7 inch crack. NONE of these were fixed during the safety inspection. My filing cabinet was open, however. Were you checking the safety of the drawers? I think not.
I can’t stress enough how awful the new management is.
I feel my privacy is violated and I’m living under the HOA from hell.
I addressed this to the following complex; Camden’s at Huntingdon, across Metric, and they have no such rules. I’ll be signing my lease there when my hell ends & I’m out of this one.

First, I am sure you are here because you saw the beautiful photos of this apartment complex, saw the price, and thought, «This can’t be real! This must be a scam.»
I can assure you that the upgrades that Pinnacle Properties has done to Champion’s Crossing are not a scam. There are cherry cabinets and nice fixtures and beautiful quartz counter tops. The sinks are deep, the carpet is pretty, the blinds are fancy, and the floors are «wood» (more like vinyl). Let’s not forget that the grounds are pretty, the pool is ok (it could do with a cleaning and an update), the workout room has two treadmills and some nice cable tv, and the parking actually doesn’t suck if you live in the back and avoid living near the front.
Why two stars then? Please, please, read on.
1) All of Pinnacle’s improvements were purely cosmetic. They painted the cabinets, instead of replacing them, and did a bad job at it. My apartment is four months «old» and the paint is flaking in a bunch of places and many of my drawers are basically falling apart. The windows are HORRIBLE and you can feel the cold through them, not to mention the screens are old and have huge cracks around the edges that let in bugs. Not to mention the A/​C units are pretty bad. I am pretty sure that the walls are barely insulated and when they put down the ‘wood’ floors (cheap cheap vinyl) they did not put a good padding underneath. My couch made dents in it from existing (which I am sure I will have to pay for). Also, after four months of taking care of he quartz counter tops, I am sure they will be useless in a few years and they stain very easily.
Let’s not also ignore the fact that the people doing these improvements have not been approved by the city (I checked for permits and they have none) and the company they have doing the work are so «great» they backed their van into the power supply for an entire building causing it to go dark for hours. They let these guys live in un-​renovated apartments (which I am pretty sure is illegal) and they work out of a pretty shady van, drink on the weekends till 2 in the morning on their porches, and won’t shut up when you ask them to.
2) DO NOT LIVE IN BUILDING NINE. During the great Halloween Flood Rain of 2013, my apartment flooded. Note: there is no source of water anywhere near Champion’s Crossing. During that torrential night of rain, there was about seven to nine inches of water in my apartment seeping in from the FOUNDATION. It was obvious that there were HUGE drainage problems that they had not (and still have not as of February 2014) taken care of. While I had apartment insurance, this didn’t cover the damage to my vintage couch or my bookshelves because floods are not covered – even if it is due to the negligence of your apartment complex.
When I confronted Management the day after the flood, first they told me I would have to live in that apartment and deal with the r they told me they would let me break my lease. After some talking (when they probably realized I could sue them for knowing there was a defect/​engineering problem they didn’t address) they moved me to a renovated apartment.
This was nice of them, but probably wouldn’t have happened if my boyfriend didn’t work for a city and threatened them with code enforcement and a lawsuit.
3) They are completely overpriced. My boyfriend has lived here for probably EIGHT years. EIGHT. Now, we refuse to stay. While we can afford it, our old apartment (the one that flooded), pre-‘improvemnts’, was $ 840. Post improvements? $ 1,000 dollars.
4) The office staff is kind of horrible. There is one woman, who I assume is the main receptionist, is super super nice. THe rest of the women who work in their own «offices» can be completely unwelcoming and kind of rude. Not to mention that the woman who does their walk throughs doesn’t WORK ON THE WEEKENDS and they are only open 9 – 6. Exactly how is someone who works a real job supposed to move out?
The only good in the staff? The maintenance guys are super nice, funny, and always on top of things. They make the constant need to call them not so bad.

I can’t wait to move out on Sunday. It is going to be an amazing moment.

Over all, we’ve been really happy with this place. The rent is inexpensive and our wrap-​around porch really makes the floor plan – we have dinner out there every night it’s warm enough. It’s an older property, but well-​maintained from what we’ve seen, and it has that cozy, homelike feeling throughout. The walls in all of the units are a dark beige color that’s neutral enough to be universal but still much warmer than the typical stark white, don’t-you-dare-paint-it of most complexes in this price range.
The appliances and cabinetry are older too, but in great working order. Hot water never a problem.
Parking is always available on our side of the complex, and there’s a shopping center within walking distance (right across the street) that has a little family-​run convenience store, a big laundromat, and a yummy Vietnamese/​Chinese restaurant.
The office staff have always been very friendly. I’ve only run into problems when the manager was away and some new employees had just started, so they weren’t really able to help us when we needed it.
We only had to make maintenance requests once and one of the women in the office forgot to record it, so it took a few days (and me coming back in to check on something else, but luckily she recognized me), but once it was entered we were taken care of right away. The maintenance staff seems reliable and competent.
The only thing that’s really bothered me has been the gym. Given the name and logo of this complex, it seems like they’re trying to push the athletics facilities, so I was a bit disappointed. The weight room is a dim, damp little place and half the cardio machines have been broken for most of the time we’ve been here. Then the bathroom went out of commission, and is now permanently closed. Why they spent so much money on a fancy HD TV before fixing the elliptical machines is beyond me, and the only other equipment are two weight machines (both for arms) and a set of free weights. Plenty of people use that gym, so I think it should be a bit higher on their priority list. There is half of a basketball court, and I don’t play, but it seems strange to me that the goal is on the long side, so any kind of basketball practice beyond short-​range baskets is out of the question. The pool looks nice and there’s never anyone in it. Same for the racquetball court, which is super fun.
The key-​card gate system perhaps makes residents feel more frustrated than safe. Still, I would absolutely recommend this place, we’ve felt very at home.
