Trifecta On 3rd

The pizzas were $ 3.00 and delicious. The best happy hour special downtown. The waitress was attentive and offered to give our group the last pizzas available. I didn’t drink, but the Coke tasted wonderful. The bar could accommodate at least 15 people after work. Plenty of seating. A few TVs to watch sports on.

$ 3 pizzas. Like whole pizzas. Obviously they aren’t the most delicious in Austin … They’re $ 3. Also, our bartender was the nicest. He wanted to make sure our drinks were to our liking. anyway, definitely check it out if you want a laid back, cheap and fun experience. They have great bourbon.

First of all three-​pizza aka $ 3 pizzas HH from 4 – 8 on weekdays and all day Sundays. The pizza is thin crust and delish!!!
Okay, second, and most of all… the whiskey selection is great! They do flights of three for all different flights. They have some they recommend and a build your own option.
Third…this place is great because of Nick!!! Love him. He is wonderful! So patient and nice. Super fun and entertaining. Made our HH experience super fab!!!

What makes this place great? $ 3 pizzas during happy hour (M-​F 5 – 8). That’s right! $ 3 pizzas! And they’re not bad at all!
Trivia starts at 8 — show up around 7 and order a pizza! Only downside? Their drinks aren’t cheap!

This place is a joke for the Kentucky Derby watching party — we bought 4 tickets on eventbrite as we we required ($ 11 each) and had never been there before. The «outdoor patio» is not a «patio» but rather the sidewalk as you walk into the place with a few «comfortable chairs» as they describe on their website. I felt ripped off as not only did we receive nothing for the cover but felt dupped by the website description as well as the ads for the Derby watching party. What is it with you people moving here from out of state thinking there is some advantage to misrepresent an establishment to get people in the door — not only will I never go back but I’m mad enough to take my time to write this review to ensure future potential first time patrons get the «rest of the story». Perhaps you should consider going back to Kentucky and open your place there.

Cozy bar. Great staff. In addition to the $ 3 pizza at happy hour that everyone loves, everything else I have had on the menu has been pretty good as well. Definitely a great place for the 360 and other downtown dwellers.

I base a majority of my reviews off drinks and the happy hour specials. Unfortunately, although Trifecta does have a great pizza happy hour, the drinks are a bit lack luster. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting a decent flatbread pizza for $ 3, but the only drinks they have on hh are pitchers of sangrias and margaritas. If I’m not in the mood for that, I’m dropping a ten on a martini. The martini’s are plentiful, but no ‘dark’ shades. All made with strawberries, lemons, limes, poppy-​girly flavors. Sometimes I want to drink something that doesn’t make me feel like I should be laying on the beach.
Trivia on Wednesday night saves my rating of Trifecta. It’s a Geeks that Drink trivia and the place is so small it actually works in our team’s favor. As in, we don’t have as much competition and sometimes we don’t end up last.
Aside from trivia and the $ 3 pizzas, the place is small and out of the way on a quiet hidden street underneath condos. I can see it’s appeal for those that want to dive out of a crazy, hectic week but be ready to compromise on drinks and price points.

Spent New Year’s at Trifecta. We had booked it before reading reviews and were a little hesitant. No need. Staff was AWESOME! So accommodating and fun. Nick (bartender) rocks!

I feel kinda bad for rating a place low since I usually post positive reviews. However, I came here for Trivia night on Tuesday and it was a pretty awful experience. The place is awkwardly cramped around a bar and even though the staff was nice, there were only 3 people to service a restaurant of at least 50 customers. I ordered a chicken quesadilla that took more than an hour to come out and it was extremely burnt. Not to mention it was way overpriced for what it was. I won’t be coming back… :-/

It’s in the bottom of my building, so I wonder sometimes why I don’t just go up to my apartment and drink there. If I’m walking, there’s better bars to be sure.
So I don’t go all that often.
But when I do go, I really like it. The fact that I can get a good pizza for three bucks during happy hour is the thing that sells me more often than not. It’s comfortable, draws a crowd of regulars (who all seem to live in my building), and prices are reasonable. Can’t ask for much more, and it’s super convenient.

Inconvenient location on the edge of downtown (relatively speaking, that might change when the Seaholm development takes off), a nondescript atmosphere, and okay selection of intoxicating substances. Trifect on Third is a trifecta of mediocrity and gets itself an all-​too-​appropriate three stars. Don’t get me wrong, the place isn’t bad. But it’s a bar that does not draw you in – just a place to go to out of convenience.

Since I can’t seem to be motivated enough to be a positive contributor to many types of clubs (book clubs, craft nights, etc) I thought «What is one thing that doesn’t take a lot of effort but is more fun to do with others?». Answer: whiskey. So, I started a Whiskey Club.
Our first «meeting» was last Friday night. Since Trifecta had quite the impressive list of Bourbon, and none of us had actually been here before, we decided to try this place out.
One would think, with such an impressive list, making a hot toddy would be do-​able. However, apparently Trifecta (and I quote) «HAS NO HOT WATER». Really? You don’t have any way to make boiling water? I know it’s like… freezing outside, but still, weird. In addition to this little (big) annoyance, they were out of a particular Bourbon on their Bourbon tasting menus.
And then… THEN… I got a parking ticket only 20 mins after my meter expiring. I didn’t even like this place, yet I had to pay $ 20 extra to be here. Argh.
Along with the above mentioned, the crowd and atmosphere here (way too many suits and ties and Lady Gaga blaring in the background) made this a less than desirable spot for any future «meetings». Definitely ready to get back to the good cocktail bars in town where hoodies are acceptable attire and hot water is readily available.

I’ve been waiting to go here since trying their pizza at a New Movement event. The pizza was amazing (!!!) and I was so excited about going, having a drink and eating that pizza. We’d tried several times, but parking is a nightmare down there. However, we just happened to pass by one evening, noticed an open spot and took advantage of the blessing by the parking gods.
As we walked up, I noticed it was more than a wee bit loud. We walked in and the space is crammed with what seemed to me to be ex frat boys and sorority gals. Loud, already wasted, slamming shots and having a grand time… all at just 645pm.
I remind myself of that yummy pizza and find a seat at the bar.

We sit for at least 10 minutes while the two waitresses wait on everyone around them in the most disorganized and confusing manner, dressed in something that resembled a workout get up circa 1983 Flashdance… No, just… NO. It’s supposed to be a nice Bourbon Bar. Not ok.
Finally, one leans over to us and raises her eyebrows. Doesn’t ask «can I help you» «what would you like» «do you have any questions about the menu» No, just leans toward us, raising her eyebrows.
I ask a question about the wine list and she just shrugs, telling me she has no idea.
Awesome.
I order a glass of wine and we get a pizza.
The noise level increases so much over the next 30 minutes that I had to get out. Biff and Brad and all their drunken madness with Sheila and Tiffany was just too much for my nerves. I had to get out.
We tried for another 10 minutes to get a waitress, who finally came over and said «what?»
at this point, I worry I might go to jail.
«Can we have our check, please? Also, we had ordered a pizza about 45 minutes ago that I need to cancel.»
«You want to cancel it?»
«Yes please.»
She walks away from us, waits on several other customers, closes tabs of other customers for about 7 — 10 more minutes, then disappears.
She returns after what has now been over an hour of our time since ordering a cheese pizza and tells me «the pizza is almost ready».
«I’m sorry. You misunderstood me. I want to cancel it. I want to close my tab and pay my bill and get out of here as quickly as possible.»
«So, you don’t want a pizza that is almost ready?»
«No, thank you. Please bring me my bill.»
«Whatever»
I now am wondering if Mark has bail money…
She closes our tab, tosses the check onto the bar and walks away to help others.
I sign and leave no tip.
I make fabulous pizzas at my home and there are plenty of yummy spots around town.
Trifecta can kiss my ass.

The drinks are not too expensive and the best thing about this place is their pizza happy hour (5−8pm)!!! Good sized pizza for only $ 3 dollars? Now that is hard to find in a bar. It’s big enough to easily share with a friend.
The staff there is really nice and the bar is super cozy with an outside patio. Just to warn you, it is a little small and can sometimes get really crowded.

If only my date had turned out to be as great as his bar recommendation! I mentioned on our first date that I liked bourbon, so our second date ended with two bourbon flights at Trifecta. can I just say YUM!
So much fun to do a bourbon tasting. I’m a patio girl, so I appreciate their outdoor seating, but it is streetside, so not much ambiance there. The inside however is quite comfortable. The bartender’s were knowledgeable about the Bourbon, and we even met the owner.
There were a few regulars being pretty rowdy, but that just made the night all the more interesting. I had no idea they had a food menu so can’t testify to that.
But if you’re tired of margaritas, Texas beer, and overplayed wine lists that are perpetuating Austin a Bourbon tasting is a great change of pace!
If only my date had turned out as amazing as this bar, I would be one happy girl! In the meantime Trifecta I will be back all on my own to taste some more Bourbon!

Happy hour pizza deliciousness! Do NOT miss out on $ 3 happy hour pizza! Deliciously fresh ingredients, tasty thin crust, well portioned (more than enough for one person!), all for $ 3?! What is there to complain about! Paired with a cocktail, bourbon, beer, or wine, you are in for treat!
The interior of Trifecta is rather small, but in that space it provides a great atmosphere for a bourbon bar. There are numerous TVs to watch multiple sporting events at one time, and they have the special sports channels so you will never miss your favorite team here. Outdoor seating is also available, and the service is attentive when you opt for this option (which is a plus as not every place is like this!)
Try their martini shakers, a great deal on Happy Hour, and incredibly delicious. I have not tried any of the other foods other than the pizza, but if it’s anything like the pizza, it’s delicious!

This is THE première venue for Boilermaker games, alumni, and fans!
The barstaff is fantastic and is always prompt with orders, refills, food, and conversation!
Some would call Trifecta on 3^rd «too small», this place has a great social atmosphere which brings groups closer to other groups and integrates into basically one giant party!
Plenty of TV’s for those Big Ten games. I hear they also cater to Longhorn games but I dont show up for those. I have Grande, and still don’t watch them. :)
Parking can be dicey in this area. A good place to try is by La Zona Rosa (corner of 4^th and Rio Grande), and then walk over. Otherwise the parking garages around generally have parking… I just hate paying if you really dont have to.
Come by for a Boilermaker, a Baltimore Zoo, or a Bloody Gary!
They have bourbon here too.

My my what a happy little surprise this spot is. We stopped in at 11 on a Tuesday, the bar empty except for one man drinking an entirely too pink drink. A little snacky, definitely thirsty, I ordered a dirty vodka martini and he a fruity concoction. Mortifying, but then, it doesn’t matter. We just drinkin is all.
The girl behind the bar was flighty as all get out but good hearted and dealt with his aggressive banter. My martini was perfect, surprisingly. His topped off with champagne for a better flavor.
We chatted, we sang a little, got somewhat maudlin, then cheered up. My tab was $ 40 for a pizza and four drinks. Pretty reasonable. I’ll be back for HH and it’s weirdly cocktail bar-​like/​sports bar atmosphere will definitely do in a pinch.

I have to demote Trifecta based on our last experience here in which we experienced terrible service and unacceptable treatment by the staff (read Erik w and Vinita G. for mroe deets).
They still have really great pizza for $ 3 bucks and a killer bourbon selection. But I’m going to need some time to recover before going back.

Yea… So, the first time I went here the service was pretty good, but the place was pretty empty. Second time, it was a madhouse and the service wasn’t amazing, but I assumed it was because of a huge «rave» across the street. Last night, the place was half empty and the service was horrible.
We showed up at Trifecta at 8pm and I showed them the Facebook deal that I purchased. First thing that weirded me out was that the employees did not know about the Facebook deal or what to do with it.
Secondly — it took at least 10 minutes before we were approached to get our drink order and at least another 10 to get our bourbon poured.
There were 2 people that served us and neither really seemed to know what was going on. Orders were messed up and generally folks were not all that friendly or helpful.
Finally, around 9:50pm we were told «this table is reserved, so you’re going to have to leave at 10pm.» Umm. We just got our food. They didn’t offer us a replacement table either. It was perhaps one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
We didn’t fight it though and decided to peace out after the bill was messed up. Womp, womp.
Only reason why they have 2 stars is the pizza is pretty damn tasty and for $ 3 M-​F, that’s a good deal.
