History

Established in 2006.

Kelly Jordan (Boogie) and Jorge Garza (DJ Baby G) first met in 2003 while employed at Hot 93.3 FM (Austin, TX). They eventually started working together on the «Boogie and Mimi Morning Show.» They also did a live radio broadcast from Club Paradox every Friday & Saturday night for 5 yrs straight. Top Choice DJ Service was started in 2006 by Jorge as a way to diversify his work and reach other audiences. In early 2013 Kelly became co-​owner and operator of Top Choice DJ. Their business partnership has the aim of reaching more clients and providing quality DJ service.

Kelly & Jorge have a long history of delivering quality entertainment, both formal and informal. Each have over 20 yrs of DJ experience. They have performed at weddings, corporate parties, grand openings, anniversaries, quincenearas, proms, homecomings, graduations, nightclubs, and bars. We believe that what every couple wants most out of their wedding is for everyone to say, «that was the best wedding I have ever been to». We put our heart and soul into every wedding to make sure that happens. There is a «sixth sense» that a DJ develops only after thousands of hours of experience. The ability to know what a crowd wants to hear just by their behavior. Whether its playing a song from the 50’s to make sure the older generation is dancing, or playing something that is on the radio today for the younger generation. We believe we know what to play, and when to play it, better than most. Every couple is unique, their wedding should be also.

Kelly Jordan has been a fixture in Austin radio for the past 15 years (You maybe also heard him as Boogie on HOT 93.3). Being a DJ isn’t just a weekend hobby for him, it has been his way of life. Call him up, and lets start to work on your vision for the perfect night.

Kelly Jordan was the DJ for a non-​profit event we did. I can’t say enough great things about him! His talent is incredible and he really caters to his clients! He’s super flexible and easy to work with! I’ve worked with several DJ’s in the past who were more focused on what they wanted to play rather than what you asked for. This was not the case with Kelly at all! He did exactly what we asked with his own spin on it! I will absolutely use him again and I highly recommend him!

When we went shopping for DJ s for the wedding, we had no idea what to look for. We interviewed numerous companies and none of them seemed to be a good fit for our idea of what our wedding should be, or that were compatible with our personality types. When we met Kelly with Top choice DJ Services, it was a breath of fresh air. His courtesy and professionalism made him a pleasure to work with. If asked to use one word to describe our experience with Kelly, It would be Phenomenal. Even then, it doesn’t do it justice. Kelly was Awesome!!! Not only did he play all the right things at all the right times, he played with the crowd, danced with the music, and really got into the spirit of it. He made our perfect event complete. I would definitely recommend Kelly for any event. Point of fact, we will look forward to working with him in the future. I highly recommend Kelly with Top Choice DJ Services. Where to begin ! We surprised our parents with a 40th anniversary party at Steiner ranch steakhouse with 90 guest. What an amazing experience we had with kelly Brandt, not only is he by far the BEST DJ, he was so professional… my parents were in complete awe at his ability to keep the party flowing creating the most memorable experience for both our family and our guest The music was perfect for our crowd, we are already planning our next event we can invite kelly too. Jorge was wonderful. From the first phone call to his follow up email less than an hr later, I knew we were hiring the right person. He went out of his way to find authentic music from Chile and add it to our songlist. Jorge was bilingual and helped with translation for our guests and kept everything going smoothly. His English and Spanish was both equally easy to understand. He called, followed up and personalized the service for us.
Top Choice is a top choice and competitively less expensive than others I spoke to. Your dj is the Master of Ceremonies of your day, and sets the tone for your entire reception — go with Top Choice.

HANDS DOWN BEST DJ EXPERIENCE AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE… Jorge did an phenomenal job at my 30th birthday party this past weekend. I had a huge list of music request and he was very understanding helpful throughout the entire party process. When we met in our first meeting he took the time out and listen to everything I wanted and made me feel confident that I was going with the right Dj service, he also didn’t quote me a crazy fee like the previous Dj’s I met with before him and he also kept in contact with me the whole time as well, which is a plus for me. He showed up on time, organized and with great energy. All of my guest loved the music and kept asking me where’d I find him at. I will most definitely without question refer any family, friends, or co-​workers to topchoicedj in the future and any other event I plan in the future that I’ll need a Dj for I will be contacting Jorge for his services! Kelly from «Top Choice DJ Service» was great! He was professional, he took time to listen to what our needs were for our wedding, and had a great and easy-​to-​use system for us to request which songs we wanted played at the wedding. We will definitely go with Kelly for the next time we need a DJ. Our dance floor was packed all night long with family and friends that were dancing their hearts out. A DJ can make or break a party, but Kelly definitely took care of the ambiance.
I should add that he works for 93.3 in Austin, the only radio station (other than NPR) worth listening to.

Jorge was amazing! He was able to take a mix crowd of folks (old school rancheros, merengue/​cumbia lovers, indie rockers) and get them all on the dance floor for the entire time. The playlist was amazing and couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. Not only that, but he was able to make the bilingual crowd feel comfortable as he did all the announcements in Spanish and English. Jorge was a complete professional and he really impressed me with his preparedness. Even before we had signed the contract, Jorge had already begun investigating/​listening to cumbia/​merengue music that was popular in El Salvador (my family’s home country) to make sure he played the right music. This was about a year before the wedding and that, to me, was amazing. Throughout the planning period, Jorge kept in touched and asked how things were going and if we needed anything. Any changes made, he followed-​up with us. A few days before the wedding, Jorge was really active with us and made sure he calmed any nerves and any concerns we had. In addition, he showed up two hours early to set up just to make sure that everything went as planned. He was absolutely great.

I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. We hired Kelly for our multi-​year class reunion, with attendees from the classes of 1965 to 1990. With 230+ people in attendance, the music was «the» critical piece for our Saturday night main event.
We knew from the get-​go that we had a winner on our hands, from the early set up to the lights to the music — while we’d planned on dancing only after dinner, people hit the floor as soon as the music started, and we were off to the races!
If we had not extended our 4-​hour event for to 5 hours on the spot, I’d be writing this review from a hospital bed. Kelly is that good.

My friend DeAnn and I hired Kelly for a shared 60th birthday last Saturday, and he was beyond fantastic! i had never hired a DJ before, nor hosted a large dance party like this, and it just couldn’t have been better. Kelly got every single song we asked for, including some obscure ones, perfectly used the music and lights to give the party the right flow — from making sure we had early visiting time for friends who hadn’t seen each other in a while, to having everyone on the dance floor for hours. His and Jorge’s website with song lists is wonderful — really easy to work, lots and lots of songs that helped us remember things we liked through our decades, and had opportunities for others to request songs if we’d let them (we didn’t — we wanted to do t he choosing! But it would be fun to do this again sometime and let the song list be developed by guests — after seeing Kelly in action, I know he could make a great party out of any variety of music) He was so nice through all the planning process, and so professional that night — yet fun!– loved watching him in his headphones quietly boogeying along with the music. Yet he never called attention to himself even though he’s a radio personality, — just made the music and lights happen — totally made it our party.
I just can’t give him enough praise — It was a fantastic night, and I’m so glad we found him on the web. It was so much fun I’m already thinking of how to do this again — even without another 60th birthday to celebrate — Definitely hire Top Choice!

Kelly and Jorge are awesome! The DJ I originally hired cancelled on me, and I am so glad he did! We had a bilingual wedding, with some obscure song requests, and they did an amazing job. We hired Jorge Garza (DJ Baby G) to play our company party, and I am so glad we did!!! He was amazing, professional and personable. His website made it easy for people to request songs prior to the event, and he did a great job working in a variety of different genres seamlessly. He even played songs I requested that weren’t in his vault; he still got the songs and included them for me! His rates are very reasonable, but his talent exceeded our expectations. He took care of all the details, arrived to the event and setup early, kept the music matching the flow of energy in the room, and dealt with the people very well! Everyone had a good time, lots of dancing and shenanigans, and LOTS of compliments to me for hiring a great DJ!!! (bonus)

Jorge DJ my wedding and thanks to him it was a success. We had a the best time of our life at the reception and couldn’t of asked for a better more professional DJ. He played everything from Country, Salsa, Merengue, Punta (I am from Honduras and is our native music), to hip hop, R&B, to name a few. We asked for all genres to be played as we had such a diverse guest list and everyone had a blast and still to this day raves about how much fun it was! The dance floor was not once empty!
Thank you so much for making our special day so perfect and fun. We definitely recommend Top Choice DJ and if you don’t book them you are missing out on the best party/​DJ in town!

We are lucky and thankful to have found Top Choice DJ. The music was outstanding and both sides of our families had such great things to say. Half of our wedding party spoke only Spanish and the other half only English, so finding a happy medium COULD have been hard, but not for this DJ. A wide range of music was played and everyone spent the night dancing… Some even asked for the soundtrack!
We will always recommend Top Choice DJ!
