Tomlinson’s carries the highest quality pet food that money can buy. The staff is always friendly and so well educated when it comes to the products they carry. I am a small business owner and love that I can «shop local» at Tomlinson’s!

This place is sketchy. USUALLY it’s a great place and the folks who work there are super friendly and helpful and yes it has all the brands and products that I want for my pets and I do frequent the store often enough to know who the regular employees and managers are. I like to pop in on my way home or right before I go to HEB.
My problem is that I noticed something that is wholly unacceptable and completely unethical in my book. When I popped in on monday I saw some beautiful kitties up for adoption. When I came in on Tuesday I saw that one of them had a super swollen paw, I overheard the manager that day saying it had just happened and that the sweet kitten was going to the vet and it was being taken care of and she was really concerned about this poor cat. On Wednesday due to my intense curiosity I popped in again because this little fur baby was really stuck on my mind and I wanted to see what the vet said. When I asked about it the other manager told me «it just happened and its being taken care of and is going to the vet soon.»
I’m sorry, The other manager said that yesterday, Ms. IDGAFManager, who I’m pretty sure runs the place. Do you think I’m some kind of fool? How could you let that poor kitty who is stuck in a cage suffer for several days? Is it so hard to have one of your employees take a cat to the vet and drop off pick up later? I can’t believe a store I shop at keeps people with such a low sense of care for animals around. That’s insane. I’m disappointed more because when I go to petsmart the pets are healthy and taken care of (with maybe an exception for the gold fish) and that’s a huge corporate chain. The only way I’ll identify this lady is that she’s a brunette. I didn’t catch her name. Why don’t y’all have name tags?!
I shop at Tomlinsons to support local brands and our community but I can’t justify doing that anymore if they can’t even manage to take care of a helpless, homeless kitten. Seeing animals treated poorly is terrible, but seeing it from a store that is supposed to be above the line on morals and pet care is just plain disappointing. I can’t believe the manager just lied straight to my face. How can I trust a single word that woman says?
I hope that poor kitty baby is okay and has finally seen a vet. You hang in there little buddy. I’d adopt you myself if I didn’t have two territorial fur babies already.
Get it together or I’ll just have HEB or Petsmart special order my stuff. They do that in case you were not aware.

Very helpful staff! My dog has been having some stomach issues lately so my husband and I went in to find a new food for her to try. The person that helped us was great! She talked to us about what kind of issues our pup is having and broke down the ingredients in different brands and why some dogs react poorly to them. She gave us advice on how to switch her over and gave us a variety of price options. We learned more from her than our vet. These folks know their industry so don’t be shy about telling them what you are looking for.

The only thing that is a HUGE turnoff is being followed around in the store and constantly being given unsolicited advice — if I ASK for advice then yes — please — fire away — but if I have told you «no I don’t need help» and you follow me and I tell you «no I am not interested in XYZ product you are trying to sell to me» — this means go away.
There is no need for the upsell, people — we are there because you offer excellent quality products — I have literally speed walked away from one of their sales people who followed me down 2 aisles pestering me about products and sales and trying to ask what my pets eat. I feel bad because now I am brisk and downright rude when I go in just so I will be left alone —
On that note there is a fine line to be walked between recommending a product to someone and outright playing veterinarian and diagnosing an issue — Tomlinson’s is a wonderful store with selections that sell themselves — let the customer be themselves and stop giving unsolicited advice and do not play doctor.

I like Tomlinson’s for organic goat’s milk. For the baby kitties!
I know most things in this store are pricey, but I think it’s great to have the option to buy higher quality things for your animals if you want to. We do it in the human world, why not spoil the companion a little.
You’ll find a great selection of healthy food for your pet and plenty of advice from experts if you need it. Ask someone who works there, they’ll help you.

Lovely little pet store. Their employees are super nice and always helpful. I both shop and host adoption events there and they are great all the way around.

This place is a wonderful local business with an excellent selection of dog and cat food, treats, and toys — and outstanding service! We stopped in while visiting from out of town and bought enough convenient little food containers and treats for the pup to last throughout our stay, along with a chew antler. Super friendly staff!!!

Been here a lot when I used to live near by. I still make the trip here. The staff are very nice and know their pet food. I tried other ones in Austin but I like the staff here. So the trip from Pflugerville isn’t bad.

Tomlinson’s is another great Austin chain store that provides better quality products and service than what you’ll find at the national chain stores.
We’ve owned some cats that developed very particular tastes for food, and thanks to the extensive selection of canned cat food at Tomlinson’s, we were able to keep those cats fed for many years.
They have a discount club that costs $ 7 per year. If you shop there even just a few times, you’ll easily save that through the 10% discount applied to each purchase.
The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. They seem like animal lovers and advocates.

My Silver Lab, Landon is such a mama’s boy. A very spoiled little sweet furry «kid».
We went into the 4 Points Tomlinson’s this weekend and were so happy that we did.
Landon has skin issues so he’s on a grain free diet. He’s been eating Blue Buffalo, but we wanted to try something different and more local. The staff there was amazing. I’m pretty on top of options for him, but I came out of that store much more educated and with an even healthier diet for my kiddo.
I had always thought raw diets were way involved and wasn’t sure how he’d like it. I now have Landon eating a great (Fromm Family Foods) kibble in the morning and raw at night. He devoured his first raw meal. :)
So, after spending a little time with the amazing staff at Tomlinson’s, my pet food bill is going to be cheaper, I am feeding my dog an even higher quality diet, and we have found a new store to get all of Landon’s goodies from.

I agree with another reviewer that the prices can be quite high. However, the location is perfect for me, the customer service really good and I love the quality of the products — especially the food. Origens is a great product along with Stella and Chewy’s which my dog loves. They do promote sales and the opportunity to save a lot. There is a large selection of toys and other accessories as well. I will definitely continue to go back to Tomlinson’s!

The staff is helpful by offering advice on food, treats, shampoos, toys and other products based on the age & size of your fur baby and the quality of the products.

Since I moved out here to the ‘burbs about ten years ago, I’ve had to schedule periodic trips into town to buy the high quality, grain-​free dog food my rescue dogs deserve. Tomlinson’s opening in the Four Points HEB shopping center has relieved me of this tedious task, along with eliminating the carbon emissions that such a trip would produce. Winning!
I found out years ago that preventing animal health problems starts with a healthy diet, which is cheaper than vet bills in the long run. Tomlinson’s carries a wide range of quality dry and canned dog and cat foods, along with a selection of raw foods, treats and useful pet paraphernalia. I find the prices pretty comparable to Petco and PetSmart, but the food quality is superior. They also run monthly specials and will put you on their emailing list to alert you. They have a customer appreciation discount card available for $ 5/​year that gives you 10% off each purchase. If you’re going to be a regular, this is well worth it.
The friendly young people who work there are clearly animal lovers and are quick to help customers with their food and other wares. I found a new, locally produced line of dry dog food (Nulo) that my dog loves.
This is an Austin company with roots that reach back to 1946. So if you’re close to the Four Points area, check them out.

Whenever I want to spend an ungodly amount of money on my cats, I head to Tomlinson’s! The prices are insane but I feel good about spending the scratch (get it?) b/​c I know my kiddos are getting the best food. The folks at this location seem to really care about what is going on with my fleabags. They’ve helped me eliminate skin problems and improve overall health with just food alone. The cats love the food too… two paws up!

This new Tomlinson’s location is on average with the others… They sell super premium pet food and you get a discount if you buy into their discounted membership but I will not pay a $ 5 fee per year when I can purchase the same dog food for cheaper else where in Austin… I feed my large breed dogs Orijen Regional Fish formula and at 74.64 per bag at Tomlinson’s that = about 200.00 more per year than what I would pay where I purchase their Orijen. They also sell bulk bin smoked/​dried beef ribs… any bone that is not RAW is a huge potential choking/​intestinal blockage Dog Parent nightmare — why they sell these bones is beyond my comprehension… They do have 4 freezers with quality Raw!
They have some very nice leather collars that are currently discounted 50%! Worth a visit if you live in the area…
