Never have been up charged for sprouts while getting a Cali Club sandwich. But this location did charge me extra and so therefore I did not provide a tip. I left the store after and my friend was still in line. He let me know the guy who made my food was gossiping about me after I left.

I have to say I love you guys. You are the best at treating your customers like they count. You remember us for the most part and you don’t give us pennies back(more for the tip jar). I just have 3 suggestions as the gal with the purple hair will let you know b/c I ask her every time and she is so patient. Can you have lettuce that isn’t shredded? Can you have spinach? Can you have another option for cheese. Although, I did try the american and she was right, it was not yucky. I know you have sprouts and that is great but shredded lettuce isn’t good for me. It turns into water. And I used to work in a coffee shop so I know how it is shredded. We are Austin and we can embrace change. Or options I hope. Bring on the spinach and I will pay more for it. The Thunder Sauce is yummers. I’d like to buy a bunch to go. keep up the good work on the north end of town. :)

Just the same as all the others and still just as good. I am a fan of Thunder Cloud. so there is a little disclaimer bias in here, but honestly the great food and quality service are the same. If you don’t trust my review, go give them a try and let me know. The Austin Classic is my favorite on wheat: Turkey, avocado, with veggies and spicy mustard. it can’t be beat.

Thundercloud Subs has become my go-to for dinner on Wednesday nights before heading to Wonko’s to play board games. I’d never really had Thundercloud before but I started hearing the commercials for the weekly special and the NY Italian sounded pretty delicious so I had to try it. It turns out that it IS pretty delicious and that’s what has brought me back every Wednesday for dinner. I’ve been about three of four times now and each time the sandwich is consistent. It packs tons of flavor between the meats and cheeses and the spicy peppers they spread on. I don’t even like *spicy* but these are so good. I get my sandwich with mayo(instead of mustard) and provolone cheese but there are other cheese options. I also recommend the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. If the NY Italian isn’t your thing, they have everything from veggie to egg salad to chicken salad, plus soups and chips. Mark is friendly and makes placing your sandwich order less mundane.

I come here often but I don’t know why. My avocado is always brown, there’s never enough meat, the gluten option is nearly $ 2 extra!!! I ordered the Texas tuna today and after they moved on from the tuna I asked«is that all of the tuna you put on?» It was maybe a spoon full spread very thin. Then the brown avocado spread and some thunder cloud sauce. I just finished my sandwich and seriously can not explain why they would only put such a little amount of tuna on a $ 5 tuna sandwich. I’m finished with thunder cloud subs.

Sorry I am OBSESSED with Thundercloud Subs. This location is nice as they offer their smoothies(some locations don’t.) They are extremely fast and get the job done. The sandwich artists are extremely nice/outgoing/funny. I have a great time every time I stop by. The ingredients are always fresh, and the bread is just delicious. Personal favorite: California club

Decent sub shop with outstanding sandwich artists and great lunch specials. If you are in a hurry, drop in and fly out — they are pretty quick. Eating in, comfortable booths and chairs. Large pastrami on special this week for $ 4.59. Small pastrami on special this week for $ 3.49. Great deal and a pretty good sandwich. However, the large is on the small side. They have Miss Vickie’s chips and real tea. I’ll be back.

We love TC and decided to try a new location. This store is difficult to find, not visible from the service road, in a rundown shopping area. When we walked in, the two workers were lackadaisical and, though they made eye contact, did not acknowledge us in any other way for several minutes as they casually went about moving things around. Only when another group came in did they resentfully take our order. My Veggie Delite was made without avocado, which I didn’t realize until we got home, since we decided to get our order to go, given the unwelcoming atmosphere. Will never return to this location. The two stars are only for affiliation with the Thundercloud name, but this place needs a total overhaul.

Love their chicken salad sandwich! I been here a few times and they make it just perfect! Just the right amount of mayo and seasoning and always have them add the thundercloud dressing which adds a little tang!

I was not a fan at all. My Husband told me they were no good, but I want to get my own opinion. I had the tuna and um no! No flavor at all! I would wow more of a review, but there’s nothing else to say about them. It was just… blah!

I like to stop by this location once every other week for a quick and delicious lunch. It’s not the closest to my job but definitely the best as far as customer service goes. Every time I walk in the door, no matter how busy they are, I am greeted with a friendly hello. The girl with the backwards hat always makes friendly conversation and is very genuine. Plus, my sandwich is always delicious!

Average subs. Awful service. Today was Wednesday, during Thundercloud’s 40th anniversary promotion where they sell a specific sub at their original 1975 prices. Whomever was making my sub was either having a bad day or is just normally unprofessional. While making my order(2 large promotional subs), he had to use two pieces of paper to wrap a sub because he couldn’t separate them. He then proceeded to mutter about«fucking Californians»… Okay. Then I asked for a pickle, and he complained about needing 3(actually 4) pieces of paper to wrap it. Some more«fucking Californians» later, he starts to throw my food in a bag, while another worker asks him what I ordered so he can ring me up. «Two cheap people subs». Okay, sure, but you don’t need to throw that in a customer’s face when it’s your store holding the promotion. Sorry for participating. He then(somewhat lightly) smashes my bag of food onto the counter and says«have a nice day». So sincere.(Yes, the irony). To top it all off, the pickle wasn’t even good. Not crisp at all. Just awful, didn’t finish it. Subs are alright, Subway is better, which is saying something. Even at these low prices, I wouldn’t come back for the food if I have to deal with this kind of service.

Recently expanded the inside dining area and added windows and additional seating. Customer service is always amazing here. Can get a little crowded for the lunch rush but that happens everywhere.

They started running their special today with 1975 prices. We get there at 5:15 and wait for 20 minutes. Immediately we get to the front of the line and they tell us they’re now out of large bread. We ask if we can buy 2 smalls each(4 total) instead and they refuse since the limit is 2 subs per order. Seriously? This place has many hours left until closing, they run out of merchandise and they won’t make a tiny concession? That’s just bad business. Unfortunately we only brought one debit card with us so we couldn’t order separately. We will be taking our business to the MULTIPLE other sub shops in the area. Thundercloud might have been one of the first sub shops in Austin but their bad business practices can only take them so far.
