I love coming here! Jamila is awesome. Eyebrow threading and tinting are fantastic!
All the products are all natural and the facilities are nice! It’s great to have a private room.
The staff is friendly and the service is great! They are personable and very gentle!

I went to Jamila because of all the positive reviews but was very disappointed. She hurried me through. My brows were uneven. After getting home and looking in the mirror, she missed quite a few of the fuzzies around my lips and under my brows. She offered me «complimentary» henna tint to try but it was splotchy and washed out that same night when I cleaned my face. Then when I figured out my bill, she actually charged me for it. I won’t go back.

Jamalia was wonderful! I was at her salon as soon as she opened to get threading done. I had grown out my eyebrows because of the last threading fiasco (at a different salon in a different state). I highly recommend her! She shaped my brows nicely and evenly.

I can’t say I was super impressed like all the reviews say. Being a first time customer I would expect for the staff to introduce themselves, especially since they have never met me. Jamila did my brows and started without asking me how I wanted them, I had to stop her to make a clear point that I like my eyebrow thick and very natural looking. It should of been a big red flag when I wasn’t even asked how I like them. I also told her it had been while since I had them done bc I wanted to grow them out thicker. Let just say I left with super thin brows and they are not even shaped the same. I made it clear to jamilia that I was not happy her comments was that I messed them up by plucking (which it was clear I didn’t do bc my brows were clearly overgrown and very hairy, plus I had already told her they hadn’t been touched in 3month). I don’t usually care to write negative reviews but I just left feeling like she didn’t care what I had asked for and just blamed me for my now perfectly straight eyebrows. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this place.

Based on the reviews for this salon I did not anticipate having a negative experience but for the sake of other people’s eyebrows I do need to comment. I have gone to Jamila twice to have my eyebrows threaded. The first time she spent the appointment bashing the person and location where I had my eyebrows last done and promised she could make them better. So in an effort to get my brows looking better than ever I headed back a couple of weeks later. The 2^nd time she took nearly 5 minutes total to thread both brows. When I got to my car I started to tear up as I realized she had gotten rid of my natural arch and went so fast that there were patches of skin where my brow should have been. My eyebrows are now in terrible shape and are going to take months to grow back to reverse the damage. I wish I could have had a great result like so many have talked of but I am very disappointed and upset by the lack of service I received.

I usually get my eyebrows done in Houston, but needed a place closer to school so I checked this place out based on the great Unilocal reviews! I think she did a great job evening them out and it was relatively painless. She also gives a complimentary eyebrow tinting if you leave a review!

I’m not sure what all the great reviews are about. Maybe I caught her at a bad time, but she did a horrible job on my eyebrows. I bought a Groupon for tinting, trimming and a conditioning treatment. I called about 10:30 AM to make an appointment and a young girl answered the phone, she was polite, but seemed unsure of herself and said Jamila was running late. I said «That’s fine I can’t come until after 1 PM» and she said «Ok, I’ll tell her, bye.» I arrive at 1PM and Jamila is with another client, I only had to wait approximately 3 – 4 minutes. As she is helping the other customer settle up on her tab she tells me to go on back. I have never been here and this is a complex of salon suites so I have no idea which one is hers. Red flags start to go off as she obviously doesn’t know her long-​time customers from a new one. Maybe I look similar to another client, fine. I get settled into the chair and she comes in and I tell her that maybe I need a few spots trimmed here and there, she starts threading, I have naturally blonde hair and eyebrows and they grow very slowly and I had them waxed (which gave them a great shape aside from my naturally imperfect right eyebrow). She talks about how my eyebrows are flawed and then starts talking bad about waxing and blaming my flaws on waxing. I’ve had these imperfections in my right eyebrow forever, far before I ever had done waxing. She asks if I’ve done threading, which I have a few times. Then she starts to bad mouth the other threading places around town, namely the kiosk in HEB off 35 and William Cannon. So she completes the «slight» threading job, I’m talking 2 – 3 minutes tops, which I assume is what the trimming is that comes with the Groupon package. Then she goes on to apply the «dye», it’s not dye, it’s henna. So henna is only meant to last a week or two when applied to skin, when applied to hair, a few days tops. A lady from the front yells to her that there is another client waiting. She immediately wipes off the henna only after about 15 seconds, she asks me to look in the mirror there are only black streaks through the middle of my blonde eyebrows. I ask her to reapply because the entire brow has not been tinted. She reapplies and leaves the room for about 5 minutes. She comes back and wipes the henna away and shows me again, my eyebrows are now black and oddly shaped. At this point I just say OK they are fine simply because there was no use in saying no this is terrible, can you just tint my eyebrows normally, because all they have here is henna. After the henna is wiped away she sprays this awful smelling rose water in my face. Then apparently we’re done, so much for the conditioning treatment. I’m in the room for a total of 12 minutes according to my watch. The results are badly shaped and black eyebrows contrasting with my blonde hair. I cannot recommend her, she did a rushed and poor job and charged me on top of my Groupon for a threading. I will not go back. After I got in my car to leave I examined the brows a bit closer and noticed she took an end off of my left to make up for my right and there were black specs of henna all over my face. I rushed home and googled how to remove henna and olive oil apparently does the trick. I put olive oil on a cotton ball and the henna wiped off, thankfully! I love a place in Houston called Aaina Brow Bar, they are excellent, I wish I had the time to drive there to get my brows done. They do a great job at tinting a color appropriate for my hair color that lasts for months and shaping my brows perfectly despite an imperfect brow.

GREAT experience at this salon getting my eyebrows threaded. I was able to be seen right away without an appointment on a weekday mid-​morning. After having my eybrows waxed poorly at another place I had to let them grow in, but Jamila did such an even, painless job they look great again. She really shaped them to my face and offered a complimentary tinting. I was amazed– I actually look younger and so fresh. The tint is an all natural henna that Jamila produces in her salon into capsules. Its the kind that only tints hair, not skin. I bought a handful from her and so glad I did. I will go back for henna hair dying and a cut. Feel so lucky to have come upon this salon, I was greeted warmly and felt totally relaxed. Jamila has many wonderful reviews for a reason. It was worth the drive from West Lake.

Best brows in Austin! Studio is very comfortable and Jamila is very personable! She will cater your brow experience to you! I’m a brow connoisseur and Jamila is the truth!

Jamilia is great. I walked in here with wacky eyebrows and she gave me perfect advice on how to improve it. I groom my own brows, but they’re still kinda crocked. Despite my eyebrows being so thin, she was still able to improve it and even gave me free henna tinting! I highly recommend her!

Worth what I paid for! I come here for eyebrow threading. Had good experience from two different ladies. She also sells oil to grow thicker hair. I got one for eyebrow $ 15.

Second time visiting Jamila’s eyebrow threading salon, and I have had nothing short of the best experience!
Booking an appointment is super easy, she’s quick and my brows always look fantastic!
I also bought the eyelash serum to remove my mascara and it’s worked like magic! All my eye makeup glides off easily!
She is super sweet and gentle. I’ve tried plenty of wax and threading studios and her technique is painless!

Eyebrow service here was amazing, fixed my thick eybrows and gave me a new look. I really love the service here and the tips for helping to keep my eyebrows healthy and give me a great shape. I would highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I just moved to Austin and needed my eyebrows threaded so I checked this place out since it had great reviews online. The threading took 10 minutes and she even offered complimentary tinting :)
First time I am ever getting it tinted. It looks super natural!
My eyebrows are naturally very uneven and she did a great job evening it out! I will be back again!

Jamila was extremely nice but I wasn’t impressed with the shape she gave me. I also had my chin and upper lip threaded, the total was $ 30. I was a bit shocked as the prices in Houston are a bit more competitive, but I figured that I would be satisfied once I gave myself a good lookin’ over. Well I wasn’t. Jamila left hair on my chin and on the sides of my lip. I have maybe 8 strands of hair on my chin, total, and a few blonde fuzzies on the sides of my lip and half of the hair on my chin was still there and I could still see a few fuzzies in my rearview mirror.
The 2 stars are for her personality and pain-​free threading.

Super fast, excellent service.
I usually wait until I go to New York to get my eyebrows threaded and Jamila is as good as expensive New York spas.
She kept my eyebrows true to their shape. Not too thin (!!) which was an issue at other Austin places I tried.
I will definitely be coming back! The service was a ¹⁰⁄₁₀.

My review is about eyebrow threading– Jamila is definitely skilled. But when I specifically told her what I wanted she seemed irked and kept telling me she can’t make my eyebrows symmetrical. After she found out another customer had arrived she cut my threading short saying «ok that’s it enough for now. See you in 3 – 4 weeks».
If I’m paying you to do a service for me, please don’t kick me out of the room before finishing.
Side note– older reviews indicate eyebrows are $ 12 bucks, it’s $ 13 now.

Where has threading been all of my life? I’d heard of this magical skill but had never had it done… until today. My brows were groucho marx style — errant hair everywhere. They were creeping together and trying to reunite with my hairline.
I had this groupon from Jamila but just hadnt gotten around to using it. The groupon was for conditioning, tinting and shaping, i needed those pesky hairs gone quickly. Jamila was so kind — she let me use my groupon for the other services then threaded my brows — all while i was taking a surprise conference call. She was so kind and accommodating as I was being basically the rudest customer ever with my headphones in getting jabbered at.
That threading thing — kind of painful but also kind of awesome. This thread whisks around your face, zinging and zipping and apparently ripping out hair. It’s totally weird but also totally cool. The whole process took about 10 minutes and I was out the door. She warned me that waxing can lead to droopy eyelids. Apparently you pull that stuff off enough times it will stretch out your skin.
10 minutes + $ 12 + Jamila’s expertise = great brows.
