Thirsty Turtle is a neighborhood bar with a casual and comfortable environment. Whether you are just getting off work or looking for a great place to hang out with friends for Happy Hour, Thirsty Turtle is a great choice. We have 7 50″ TV’s that are always showcasing sporting events, including NBA, NFL, and UFC events. We also will showcase Pay-​Per-​View events, such as the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. Pool tables and other games are also available to entertain. Of course, our greatest feature is our cold draft beer, great margaritas, and extensive liquor options. Especially with our many vodkas and tequilas, including great shots and any mixed drink you could think of.

This is a great place. The wife and I like to go Saturday’s for Thier Karaōke show! The DJ also takes requests, so we had all our favorite songs played! Great bar staff! Great Drinks! Always the best sports on the tv’s! A great place to go to for just about anyone!

This place has changed BY FAR from what it used to be. The music is good for a variety of folks, and if you don’t like it, change it with TouchTunes. The beers are cold and not badly prices. The staff is attentive, and friendly. My fave is Liz! Not the best bar in Austin, but also not bar for somewhere to hang out, have a couple brews with your friends, and get the night started (or after a shitty work wk!). I always come here, and will continue to!

I’ve been a couple times during UFC events, and cover charges have been free and $ 5, so extremely reasonable. There are ample tvs for viewing, the place is clean and drinks are reasonably priced I thought. Service was decent and overall, if you’re looking for a lower key spot to catch a UFC event, this definitely beats driving downtown if you’re not up for dealing with the crowds. It doesn’t get too chaotic so you can actually follow the fights, which is great. Beer selection is on the small side, but there are a few craft selections and a draft cider if you’re looking for something outside of the common light beers. I had the nachos which were solid for what you pay, which was $ 7 I think? The nacho order is enormous and easily plenty for a couple people if not for 4 or more to share. Not the spot I’d pick if i wanted to just go out to get some drinks, but to watch a UFC event for cheap, I’d definitely come back.

Bartenders were more concerned about girl talk than serving me beer. Air conditioning was not working well. The DJ was awful and had the speakers so loud that the music was distorted. The place is tiny so no need to blaring music. I’ve heard jet engines that were quieter. My date said the restrooms were gross. But it was a good bonding experience for me and my date as we endured 30 minutes of riff raff, absurdly loud music, and idiot bar staff as we finished our drinks during the only time we will ever visit this awful bar.

Been to this place & LOVE the remodeling it underwent! Stopped by a couple of times during the week, was dead but the barkeeps are pretty awesome and personable. Beer was cold & the selection was pretty decent. No Black Dog Pub type of drama & I sure hope it doesn’t turn into Black Dog either.

Been here twice, couldn’t get a drink after 11pm on a weeknight in the Howard Lane /​IH 35 area except for here. Place wasn’t bad, drinks were normally priced and the place was clean, they have a couple of bar room pool tables and a jukebox for entertainment, mens bathroom was clean, just wish they had some type of food or snacks at least, but got what we came for. Thurs night was a little more packed, they had a couple of people that had too much to drink but bartender warned the guy pretty quick of his loudness and he settled down, so no drama. All in all, will probably go again, just wish they had some food.

The bartender was really cute. He had a vintage thing going on. made a nice Jack & Coke, but the place was NOT a place that Id visit again. Its the old Black Dog Pub, so if you’ve been before, its the same establishment, but NONE of the same people. LOL Its a very ecclectic mix of folks, but predominently a rock-​ish bar, tavern, thing.
