Third Base

I haven’t been here for years and now I remember why.
«So do you have anything brown or Amber on draft?» «Ummm, burnt Amber?» «No, BROWN or AMBER» «Ummmmmm… I think we have stout but I’m not sure» «can you just ask the bartender?» «Ummmmm… I think so». Comes back 10 minutes later and suggests Zeigenbock. Frown.
We order the «nachos» with half pork, half no meat and they showed up with chicken on one side, beef on the other. Waitress told me I ordered it and then later apologized and did give us her employee discount even though I said it was fine, we’d pay for it.
Tables were wicked sticky when we arrived. Food was not good, beer selection was pretty standard but I was dissatisfied when our waitress had no idea what was on tap, had no idea what types of beer they had to offer or much about the menu. Might be good to catch a game… at the actual bar? I’d skip it and seek out something else if possible.

Good happy hour specials and good food, lots of TV’s and always something to watch, great spot in South Park meadows and the playground is there for the kids.

That place is good sports bar, just for the beers and TV. Their waitress/​barterer is nice and friendly, probably because they wants a good tips or it is just them :)
Their foods, NOPE. McDonalds make a better burger than Third Base. I hate McDonalds. Their Philly Steakcheese sub was ok ok because of their cheese doesn’t agree with steak. I had 10x better burger and philly steak than their.
They need expand more choice of local IPA beers on tap.

Great service! Defiantly coming here again to watch all my sporting events! All the food is delicious (especially the stuffed tots).

Worst service experience by far… after waiting at a table for exactly 24 minutes i went to the bar to get my beer. I told the bartender the problem and said ahe would send a waitress to the table. 10 minutes later she finally arrived and asked if inhad been waiting long. I told her 29 minutes I’ve been at the table and she was tue 1^st one to come to the table. Smart ass waitress’ rerpky was … if you were here so long without a waitress then how did you get the beer? Needless to say i won’t bet back. FYI i wasn’t timing anyone, i sent a text as i walked in and saw the time on my cell phone.

Love this place! 2^nd time here and the service is awesome the music is legit! And the prices are reasonable perfect place to come chill. Cool environment chill people. 5atars!

I Just went back this Saturday to watch the fight and the service was good this time BUT I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and shared with my boyfriend, we both got very sick with food poisoned :(it was the only meal we shared that day.
Please be careful if you eat there.

*That’s a very cool bar with many tv’s perfect to watch UFC fights BUT they really need to work on the service. Fight nights are a nightmare to get a drink or food, you wait 1hour to get your drink and if you forget to order something you probably won’t see the waiter for another 30 minutes plus they served my wine in a whiskey cup. It’s bad for both parts since the bar doesn’t sell as much as it could if the service was faster and people don’t eat/​drink as much as they want, my suggestion is to hire extra staff on busy nights, since we pay $ 7 to get in we should be able to eat and drink as we please.

Great place to view fights. That’s it. No other reason to come here. Lousy food and lousy service.

Came with my friend as my birthday dinner. Service was terrible as were the drinks. Red-​headed mecican was meltred and half full. We switched and my friend got the mango martini and I got the perfect Mexican martini. They tasted the same (lime lime and sugar) except mine was sweeter. Nicole was our server. We told her about the red-​headed mexicans and after speaking with v the manager she said she was told measurements were followed so wherever made ours on previous visits probably didn’t follow measurements. Even though on several occasions they were made better we let it die. Never told her about the second round. Didn’t seem worth it. After b watching interactions with other tables as well as patrons at the bar, it was obvious our table want a priority. The food was good though. Had the nachis with chicken and ribeye flatbread. Was going to order more but with the lack luster service and drinks we were overall unsatisfied with the experience. After deciding we wouldn’t be returning, spending more money there didn’t seem logical. Especially considering we had to hunt down our waitress to pay the bill. Thanks to the male bartender who saw me looking and helped get her to bring the check!

This place is a Great place for this area. Lots of tv’s and live music. I haven’t been in Austin for a while but there maybe a reason this place wasn’t packed on a Friday evening. Anyhow if you live in the area enjoy!

Another 1 star review for Third Base. Surly bar server, overpriced food, nickel and dime upcharges on extras they are chincy with in the first place. I was going to waltz out and just never come back, but the douschey service compelled me to warn people.
And the ladies’ room doesn’t offer seat covers, in a bar! Ew.

Terrible, terrible service by the bar «manager» if you can even call him that. On Sunday we attempted to order a carafe of mimosas when we were told «they don’t do carafes of mimosas after 3pm». I was then very confused because their menus says «$ 13 mimosa carafes available all day Sunday». My brother proceeded to ask the bar manager why he wouldn’t serve us the mimosas and he just kept saying he wouldn’t do it. Finally my brother told him we wouldn’t be coming back then, the manager actually clapped in my brothers face and said good. Absolutely ridiculous, we weren’t asking them to do anything crazy, the menu said $ 13 mimosas available all day Sunday, if you don’t want to serve them after 3pm then take it off the menu and then to have the bar manager actually clap in my brothers face is insane. They cannot handle PPV events like UFC. The service is nonexistent, poor service, they ran out of beer mugs so you are forced to buy bottled beer. Bartenders try their Best but with a attitude. I’ll give this place one more shot.

Only two stars, because they didn’t want to let my service dog in. The food isn’t very good as well.

Worst service ever! I mean ever!
Last Sunday we decided to try somewhere new to watch football and came here. We were shocked when we walked outside and almost every table was empty. Even empty we sat there for 15 mins before a server came over and offered us menus. We ordered food and drinks and it all came out quickly. The food was pretty good however I noticed that each time food was brought out they would walk around clueless as to which table it went to and would ask each table they passed if it was theirs. When it was time for a drink refill we had to wait… and wait… and wait until we finally hunted our waitress down.
Our server came and asked if we could pay out bill because she had just gotten off. Sure, no biggie, she assured us that someone else would come along to help us. They never did. 30 mins later I asked the new waitress if she was our waitress and she said no but she would find her. We watched the 2 waitresses working argue over who had to pick up our table, 15 mins later one came over and took our drink orders. 45 minutes just to get a beer!
The worst part of the day was when the manager, a very very young blond girl, came outside and started yelling at another table. She had an aggressive, cocky attitude with them before they even said one word to her. Now granted, their kids were throwing bean bags into a tree, but her out of control attitude made them immediately defensive and all of the tables around the scene completely uncomfortable. Her demeanor was so uncalled for and as she walked by she was smirking and even gave our table a dirty look, that was when we decided that we would never return there.
This place wouldn’t be bad if they hired new management, fired half of the waitresses and trained the rest of the staff.

Great place. I love to stop in and catch up on paperwork and watch sports. However one improvement can be made. STOP the loud 80’s/90’s dance music during the middle of the day. It’s a sports bar not a dance club. Either have the games over the speakers or softer music (preferably Texas Country :-)) where you can actually have a conversation.
Overall tho… great food, drinks, service (especially Murphy behind the bar) and friendly atmosphere.

I know on a Sunday during football season they’re going to be busy, but the whole experience was still terrible. Chicken sandwich was burnt beyond being edible; $ 4 for a side of asparagus that had five pieces of burnt asparagus and the stalks still on. Took more than thirty minutes and asking twice to get our check. Gotta say a big disappointment altogether.

If you want to pay to watch the ufc fight and get shitty service this is the place to be. Ran out of glasses, over an hour to get a drink, when asked to close tab had to walk to register myself and make a seen. If your staff can’t handle it don’t have the fight. this all falls on management. Your poor management to money out of your employees hands. way to go.

Stopped in here STARVING and hoping for the best as Texas Roadhouse had a wait… boy am I super glad we did!!! The food is FANTASTIC! Boyfriend/​food snob ordered the Ribeye medium rare and LOVED it, hatch green chili queso is divine, guacamole quite tasty and the hatch green chili mac n cheese with chicken… ummmmm simply out of this world!!! Great service from Devon as well! We will be back!

Seems odd that a sports bar would refuse to play the audio for sports and opt to play worn out blues tunes instead.
Very slow and poor service.

I’ve visited this Third Base location a few times since we live just a couple miles away. It’s an average sports bar with drinks that definitely don’t have a «wow» factor. Also, their food is nothing to write home about.
Their fish tacos and sweet potato fries are ok, but even those don’t hold a candle to the great bar food available in the greater Austin area.
If you’re looking to catch a football game you better get there super early because all of tables get filled up quickly. They’ve got an outside area, but the service has always been lackluster when we’ve sat out there.
Unless we are feeling super lazy, we prefer to drive a couple miles toward downtown for better food, vibes and service.
If you’re looking for a place far south with a lot of TVs and cold beers (and that’s all) — give it a shot.

Food was good, service was slow and the restaurant was empty. We came on a Friday at 3pm.
Cool place, I’m sure it’s cooler at night.
