Sorry, but this pizza is just plain bad. I am from NYC and I love pizza. The only thing good about this pizza is the sauce, the cheese and the dough are not good. I had a few people tell me this place had the best pizza in Austin, but they were very very wrong — I shouldn’t have listened to pizza recommendations from west coasters.

The pizza by the slice is huge! Coodos for that. I wish the pizza had more flavor. I’ll give it another shot in the near future.

Awesome pie, closest thing to NYC pizza I have tasted in Austin. We got our pie to go so we weren’t there long but while we were there the owner greeted us and talked us. Albeit we just moved here, he made us feel like we were at our neighborhood pizzería that we had been coming here for years. Great food. Great experience. Try them out.

Big pizza slice to go is tasty(order ahead) but I prefer any other location than this one, even for pick up. Parking is bad/small even for compact car. Rambunctious kids running everywhere yelling, blocking the door, wailing infants inside, faint smell of dogs/dog hair(??) and an inattentive, multi tasking register person. Just grabbing a slice to go was a headache.

Close to were i work so i came here alot. Employees were always rude and very slow. If you dont enjoy what you do then find a new job! One woman here would always over charge and then act like its my fault and would give such a hard time and a butt load of attitude when asked to fix what she did wrong. Dont charge me for a 3 topping slice if it only has one on it

Really good pizza, particularly like the red hook and the mama gallo’s. It is also nice to get a free medium cheese when you order a large specialty pizza. We order from here all the time and we have always been happy. The couple of times our order has been messed up, they’ve given us the order free and delivered the fix direct to our house. We are loyal to this place.

So disappointed in our neighborhood Brooklyn pie, Saturday, Sept. 26th at 7:30pm when trying to place a pick up pie. I understand this was prime time but how can you be out of large pies? I asked«if we wait longer, can we get a large»? No and any pie right now is going to take over an hour. Can you do a special price for two mediums? No. Can I speak to the manager? No, we don’t have one tonight. Terrible customer service at this location. However, we love the pies and called the Palmer location and had a great experience. They said… yes, of course we have large pies, they only take 25 minutes to make and we are happy to make it however you like. Well worth the drive…

I really enjoyed the pizza, true NYC style. Big slices, fresh, and great deal on slices for lunch. Look forward to coming back.

The Brooklyn Pie Co has four locations in Austin, one in Round Rock, and another in Corpus Christi. This was my first trip to the Mesa location, and the friendly staff member mentioned they had been there for about nine years. A visit to their website informed me that each location has a slightly different menu. The online menu is not up to date, as the Mesa location can make gluten free pizzas. They use the locally owned Smart Flour crust for their gluten free pizzas. The Mesa Brooklyn is tucked away in a strip mall. You can’t miss the numerous bright neon signs outside. Inside you will find a dive bar styled dingy and aged interior. Brooklyn prides itself in utilizing fresh and all natural ingredients. I ordered the Hawaiian Five-O for pick up. The pizza was right on time for me to pick up 20 minutes later. The gluten free crust was cooked perfectly. When cooked well Smart Flour tastes great. I also liked that the pizza was minus the grease of the central location(next to Woodrows). Overall an A-OK pizza, can’t complain.

Excellent pizza! Fresh ingredients and done exactly the way I ordered it. Also has the garlic knots-could use a little more toasting and more garlic but still enjoyed them. The staff was nice and the establishment clean. Will order again.

Brooklyn pie has become one of our favorite pizzamakers in Austin. They’re a local chain with several locations in Austin. Their pizzas are thin but made with high quality ingredients and it shows. I usually prefer to stick to the classic cheese pizza. The only thing it needs is a little TLC with napkins to soak up the grease. The greek salad is also fresh with lots of veggies and delicious vinagrette-feta dressing. Service is great at this location, too. Try it!

When I worked nearby, this was one of my dependable breaks from nausea inducing coworkers. The HUGE slices at lunch are awesome. The crust is thin and they put any extra toppings on you want. Once in a while, I’ll grab take out for dinner. Oddly, the pizza sizes are different than the lunch slices. The manager told me it was because they can only fit one of the huge lunch pies in the oven at a time so they do smaller pies for dinners, then they can cook two at once or something like that. Makes some sense, however I really love that slightly thinner crust the lunch slices get. The dinner pies seem to have a thicker crust. Maybe they use the same amount of dough and stretch the lunch pies larger? All in all, a highly dependable NY style pizza place. I love that the dining room is old school and doesn’t try to do much. Just some tables to eat a good quality pizza. Recommended if you’re in the neighborhood, but I wouldn’t drive across town for it very often.

The staff is so sweet and the food is awesome. I go about twice a month and get a slice for lunch. I have never had any issues but once I was waiting a a woman walked back in with her box and said something was wrong with her order. They apologized, fixed it then threw in an order of cheese sticks as an apology. Then a guy from the back came up to the front and said it was his fault specially and the he was so sorry and hoped she’d forgive them. Everyone left with a smile on their face. Excellent customer service.

We ordered a medium meat lovers pizza. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and it took quite a while to receive. I wouldn’t have minded waiting if the pizza wasn’t bland. The cashier was also distracted by his cell phone. Get off your phone, and get back to work! I won’t be returning.

Really huge slices for reasonable price. Toppings are all a la carte but the cheese slice is only $ 3.99. My veggies came on top of my pizza raw & I thought they would be cooked but it ended up being delicious anyways!

This place is very on and off. When they’re doing good, they get pretty close to a good New York style pizza. Their main problem is their inconsistency. I see this mainly in the crust. Sometimes its really cripsy and sometimes it’s closer to a thick pizza and granted, some of that comes from the fact they’re homemade. However, I must compliment them on their use of good ingredients. I usually go with my family and we tend to get the Meat Lovers pizza which is usually consistently good. I like the garlic sausage used on this one. I prefer to get their white pizza with artichoke hearts and ham. It’s purely a white pizza brushed with olive oil. This one can be excellent when they’re having a good day and just plain greasy when they’re having a bad one, hence the fact I give them only 3 stars. When they’re busy, they seem to get overwhelmed and very slow. If you know what you want, I would recommend calling ahead and ordering.

Ordered a small vegetarian pizza over the phone at 6:47 pm. My first time ordering from Brooklyn Pie Co. «The pizza should be there in about 45 minutes,» said the friendly if not distracted voice on the other end. I nodded in affirmation though he couldn’t see. «Pizza for dinner? What a great idea, Gracelyn.» I tell myself. 8:18 pm. No pizza yet. I check my mental math one more time(it has been more than 45 minutes, right?) and decide to call. «A driver kinda bailed on us tonight,» the man says. He apologizes, and assures me that the pizza is on its way. I hang up, pleased to know the status of my pizza. «Worth the wait.» I tell myself. 8:55 pm. No pizza. I don’t want to call another time for fear of worsening what is likely a terrible night for the staff. My phone buzzes with an unknown 512 number. It’s my delivery driver. Frazzled but sincere, he quickly apologizes and tells me he’s on his way. «Your pizza will be free because of the wait,» he says. The victory is a hollow one. I can’t help but feel for my driver and his team. 9:08 pm. I hear a knock. I open the door and we stare at each other for a couple of seconds. «Hi. Are you-» «Yes hi, I’m-» «Brooklyn Pie-» Silence. He hands me my pizza as my dog slips out to greet him. «Free of charge,» he says while my dog begs for his attention. «Thank you,» I say. «Peanut, come!» I call. Peanut glances at me briefly but returns his attention to the delivery driver. «Here,» my driver says, picking my dog up. He pauses mid-carry, looking at me suddenly unsure. «Is it okay if I pick him up?» He asks. «Of course.» I say. He gently places Peanut back in my apartment and I thank him as he leaves. I pop the pizza into the oven to keep it warm as I take Peanut out. Upon my return, I finally get my pizza for dinner. I bite into my first slice and it’s perfect. «Totally worth the wait,» I tell myself.

Meh. We were in the area and decided on pizza over the weekend. We’ve been to Mangia in the past and decided to try something new. This restaurant was just about a minute away so we decided to try ‘em out. The fact that their online menu mentioned garlic knots was also a major contributor to the decision making. They are located in a nice little shopping center near a local tavern/restaurant. There were no other customers when we walked in, which honestly makes us wonder typically, especially during the meal times, you know? We were there at lunchtime on a weekend day. We started with an order of garlic knots(4 came in the order we went with, but I believe there is a larger order available). They came with marinara sauce for dipping. They were good enough. The marinara sauce I didn’t really care for so I stuck with parmesan cheese. I got a slice of cheese pizza, and my husband got a slice with canadian bacon, pepperoni, and hamburger. Those slices were freakin’ big, y’all. My husband really liked the pizza but, again, I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. Oh we also split a side salad before hand, it was really nicely out together with plenty of veggies on top of a bed of lettuce. The guys who were working were super friendly and polite. The place itself is nice, nothing fancy. Casual. One thing I noticed that didn’t look so great was a couple of tables that needed to be cleaned. Cups left on one table, and tons of crumbs on the only booth there. That looks really bad. Will we go back? Maybe. Would we recommend them? Sure.
