The Magellan International School is an independent, not-​for-​profit school founded in 2009 which today educates 275 students from age 3 through 5th grade and will launch the Middle School with 6th grade next year. The School is named after Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese explorer who conceived of and led the first successful expedition to circumnavigate the world. It is this same curiosity, passion, and capacity for achievement in a global context that the School aims to give its students.

Established in 2009.

Established in 2009, The Magellan International School is the only bilingual, International Baccalaureate recognized program of its kind in Austin. The school currently has over 275 students covering grades PP3 through 5th and will open its middle school with 6th grade in August of 2013.
