Okay, NOBODY wants lice to show up on their kid, but it happens. I had been lucky to escape it for so long. But when it hit, I spent hours combing my son’s hair and using all the products available at Walgreen’s, checked my daughter and my hubby and asked them to check me. Thought we were okay. A week later, I see bugs again on my son. Try the whole deal again, wash everything in the house bag up the world, check everyone else (feel progressively itchier!), two days later, bugs. If you have kids and you allow them to ever leave the house to spend time with other kids, there’s a high probability that you are going to eventually have to deal with bugs. In their hair. Maybe in yours. Eeeew, right? Makes my scalp itch just thinking about it!
Unlike his parents did, our child attends a hoity-​toity private school, but don’t think that shields us from the problem. P. S. Docking a star for the less-​than-​kind head check that my 8 year-​old received without warning or much empathy from the scrubs-​clad comber. Apparently, the metal Terminator comb really pulls & scrapes the scalp in an unpleasant way as it’s dragged through dry hair (an experience we did not have when using this comb at home on wet hair). After the examination had begun and my child was squealing, «Ow! Ow! It hurts!», we were told that «boys with short hair may be unaccustomed to the intense hair-​pulling sensation». Not convinced that tears need to be a part of this process, but I’m certainly glad to know that we for sure don’t have any bugs!

The minute you see your clean beautiful kid scratching their head, panic sets in. I spent 2 and a half hours twice with products and tiny blue combs… don’t waste your time. You can treat your kids and yourself but if others don’t it is not a question of if but when your kids will get lice again!

Just finished with our treatment at the Lice Place. My 10yo daughter has waist long hair and insists on wearing it down. So – lice is always going to be a part of our lives. This is the place to call if someone in your house has lice! Cody was very attentive, professional and friendly. Not only will she get rid of the lice, she’ll do it in a reassuring and supportive manner. These people know what they are doing! They have the best products to work with and great skills. Okay. So seriously, no one wants to have to visit The Lice Place. However, if you have children who attend school, play in public play areas, take any kind of lesson, or basically exist outside of your house, you will probably have to deal with lice at some point.
We treated our daughter’s lice for two painful, tear-​filled days at home, but we were still combing some eggs out after two days. We were all too emotionally drained to deal with another day of home treatment and combing, so we emailed TLP. I got a quick response from Cody, and then we were able to promptly speak with staff at the clinic. Everyone was SO nice and understanding. Let’s face it. We felt embarrassed when our child got a lice diagnosis. Everyone at TLP calmed me down, and they helped calm my daughter down. We realized this was bound to happen due to school, extra-​curricular activities, etc.
When we arrived we were met at the front desk by our technician. We were taken back to a private area where the family could be checked and treated if needed. Turns out still only my oldest daughter had eggs in her hair. Our technician busted some myths about lice and explained how it was possible that the rest of the family was all clear.

Our technician did an amazing job, and after several days of follow up combing to be sure we got everything out, I have not found any live lice or eggs in my daughter’s hair.
