The Laundry Spot

Clean, bright, and efficient. A little more expensive than my apartment’s coin-​op laundry, but the facilities here actually clean my clothes, and in a fraction of the time.

I love coming here. It’s away from all the noise, and even when its busy I never have to wait more than 15 minutes. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to get stuff done. Inexpensive and free wifi! Such a chill place to come.

Clean, neat, and simple. I would give this tidy joint 5 stars, but their machines, while new, are a bit pricey and there isn’t much space to wait for your spinnin’ suds.
The price for wash n’ fold services are exceptionally reasonable ($ 0.90 per lb or $ 1.50 per lb same day). I’ll hit them up next time I don’t want to wait for washing.

Good machines — change machine works, and it is well lit and clean. My only complaint is wifi and the lack of process to resolve. Wifi was down and attendant was unable to help resolve. Attendant claimed wifi was working so it must be my problem. I replicated the problem on both my PC and my phone. Attendant would not allow me to speak with manager to help resolve (I’m a tech guy and felt usually a local router restart would fix most problems) very frustrating as I cannot work. Another customer said wifi usually does not work. There does not appear to be a path to resolution when there is a problem. One other customer tried and could not connect. Another customer told me it is unreliable and he doesn’t bother.

Update: a few minutes after I posted the first version of this review, the attendant gave me a card to call the manager — not sure if this is a coincidence or not. Manager was very helpful, and sent a tech guy over to help. I had to leave before It was resolved — manager should get credit for being very responsive. Manager also offered to give me a free wash next time. I originally had rated them one star, but I have to say, once I got the manager on the line, he could not be more helpful, so I’m going to change to 4 stars. Many retail establishments don’t seem to have the skillsets for wifi resolution, and also lack procedures for the attendants to know how to handle issues, so it is not uncommon for issues, but bottom line I need to be able to count on reliable wifi. Be aware the Wifi may not be reliable, but I am optimistic after speaking to the manager — he seemed to get how important reliable Wifi is, so I am hopeful they will figure out how to get the wifi reliable at some point.

I’ll scrub the toilets with q-​tips before I do laundry, so when I realized I was up to my eyebrows and was still actively avoiding it (buying new clothes instead of washing existing), I decided I should do something more. So I took a bunch of laundry to these folks for wash and fold services. They were amazing! I took stuff in on a Saturday and they said they could not have it done until at least Monday, which was fine by me, since I work in high tech and could always pull something out of the corner of my closet to wear. Cost is $ 1.15 a pound (tax included) which feels very reasonable to me. You can pay $ 1.50 per pound to get to the top of the pile, so to speak and get things done usually in 24 hours. Anyway, I had about 50 pounds of laundry and they got it back to me Monday– neatly folded and packaged– even mah panties! I can’t believe I waited this long. I’ll still do my towels, sheets and delicates at home (although they will even hang to dry for you!) but everything else, from skivvies to scrunchies, now goes to them!

I’m always trying to find the next best laundromat. I’ve been here once before and overall, its… Meh.
The facilities are CLEAN. Almost immaculately. This is nice little building. Decorated and kept up well. Large windows for plenty of natural sunlight and brightly painted walls. The machines are nice, ALL in great working condition. I like this laundry place for really only one thing: they have a change machine that will convert your nickels and dimes into quarters. It’s pretty convenient because I can just grab my change jar and Tada!
The cons: because of the large windows it is hot in here. Combined with people moving and hot machines running, it gets really uncomfortable.
There is like no where to sit if there are more than 5 people here. And it’s incredibly crowded. I know we are here to do laundry, but there is a bit of down time.
So it’s ok… Its definitely not an horrible place. Its actually nice and clean. Its just stuffy and uncomfortable to be here.

My first time at this facility and the staff was friendly and the people were friendly also. This will be my spot from now on.

I wanted to give this place a few tries before I wrote a review. They do not disappoint! My orders are usually simple and small so I can’t speak to more complex requests.
I use their wash and fold service. I drive a little out of they way to come here because the staff is great and the clothes always come out smelling fresh and are folded neatly. They package everything up in plastic to add to the convenience. Unlike some other places that offer the same service Laundry Spot is always very straightforward about the cost and the time it’s going to take. No guesswork or false promises. When they say you’ll have it today they mean it — and if it won’t be until tomorrow they will tell you that too.
It’s definitely worth the extra money for the great quality of service and the convenience. Be sure to tip because the staff works hard.

They do not do Dry Cleaning so I have no idea why that is listed.

Small, fresh and so clean. There’s free wifi and TVs that are on. Fifty cents per laundry pod. One of the nicest laundromats I’ve been to. There’s single load washers to 6 load washers. Perfect!

Oh I feel so boushy… When we were in Chicago we didn’t have a place to do laundry so we used to drop it off at a place a block from us. They would wash and fold. It was amazing! I miss that sometimes. So I got really behind on laundry and really lazy. Of course I turned to my handy dandy Unilocal to find a wash and fold place. I came across this place and was totally sold. The price is a little bit more than what I was used to paying but it’s totally worth it. You pay by the pound and it’s a 10 pound minimum. There’s a price for next day or you can pay a little extra for same day express.
I dropped off on Friday about 10:30 and picked up the next day. The place was super clean and the lady that took my laundry was friendly enough. I had brought my bag in a laundry bag. When I went to pick up it was folded so nice and wrapped in plastic and then in my laundry bag. I was so happy! All I had to do was put it away. Just like I remember. Easy, peasy laundry. Now that I’m caught up with my laundry I can be a responsible adult… or I can always just bring my laundry and have them do it

This place is amazing! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the 2 gentlemen working there. I got started and I had a crap ton of laundry. I got all of it done in about 2 hours bc no one was there! It’s about hidden place that is friendly and very clean. Also the coin machine gave mi a bad quarter and the guy up front let mi get a new one. No sweat. I will come here more often. I love it! Great conversationist. :) also a plus is that they had the radio on Bob fm. 80’s all the way!

Definitely the coolest public laundromat I’ve ever been too. Super clean and spacious, well-​lit and actually has cool interior design (I know! In a laundromat?!) There’s always friendly and helpful staff person available. Oh! And free wi-​fi as well as multiple TV’s plenty of seats and tons of parking in the front and back. Last wash 9pm 7 days per week. Sweet! And super affordable if you want to drop off your laundry and have it washed for you. Good job ‘The Laundry Spot’!!!

Wow. Wow. Wow. $ 1 per pound laundry offered (wash and fold) with a 10 lb minimum. That sounds like a perfect solution for my boyfriend. For myself, free wifi, super clean, helpful staff, tons of various sized washers and dryers for one to do a huge load or several small loads in parallel. Super nifty coin changing machine that will take $ 20s and not stick you with a whole buncha Sacagaweas. It returns $ 5 in coins and 3x $ 5 bills!
Not to mention, washing my queen size blanket took only 30ish minutes! I know 5 stars is the same rating I gave Uchi, but it’s definitely as good as it gets for laundromats!

Fact — I hate matching my socks up after laundry is done.
Solution — pay a dollar a pound and let someone else do the laundry.
Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Really friendly people, great little operation.

I really liked the wash and fold service at the Laundry Spot. It was done very quickly and I got a phone call as soon as it was done. The clothes smelled really great but I was most impressed with their rewards program and how technologically savvy it is.
The only thing I wish was more advertised is the fact that if you want certain articles of clothing on hangers, you need to provide the hangers yourself.

I’ve been coming to here for four months… I cheated once and went to my old laundry place in south Austin… only to realize The Laundry Spot is cheaper and the dryers work better. This place is smaller than some other but there are always washers available when I go, the dryers work, the prices aren’t outrageous, the place is clean, and the staff is always friendly. It’s next to a convenient store and a quaint local dive bar. It hours are better than some others, with the last wash at 9pm.
Things to note: There isn’t a ton of seating. There’s one T.V. It’s still coin operated (unlike the fancy new places that use a card).

I had not been to a laundromat since I moved to Austin from NYC more than a year ago. What a way to strike up some memories.
Unlike the nightmare-​inducing laundromat experiences of yore (i.e. NYC), The Laundry Spot provided a great experience. I actually ENJOYED doing the washing (had big comforters that would not fit in my home machine).
The large LED screen at the front shows you which machines are available (not that you need this — the place is small). The machines are all pretty new, they have machines of all sizes, and everything works! Also, each machine has a visible time on it, so you know how long is left.
The space is insanely clean, they have strong WiFI, and plenty of space to sit and read/​work/​type while you wait. Plenty of change machines that work well, including ones that will break large bills into smaller bills so you’re not dealing with $ 20 in quarters.
Cant’t believe how quickly the XL machines washed and dried my comforters – and how clean they came out.

Comfortable place, safe area, good wi-​fi, tv’s on, and helpful, attentive employees. Can’t ask for much more! And a cool guy from Nigeria (customer) who’s really interesting to talk to! haha. It was my first time ever using a laundromat. I had an enjoyable experience, and watched football the whole time.
$ Prices: The big washer is 6 «loads» size (one time) for $ 6, the other size washers are 4 for $ 4, or 2 for $ 2. The dryers are 6 minutes for each 25 cents, doesn’t take long, like 30 minutes. Detergent is 50 cents per pod/​load.
