The Landing At Double Creek

1) Wheels and tires stolen off truck… left sitting on blocks.
Towing people assumed that they were rented wheels and did not report it. We told the manager, Willow Walker, about it and to notify residents so that everyone was aware as well as putting a request in to update the security footage since the resolution was not high enough to read the license plate off the SUV that carried the stolen items. She claims she sent out an email but NEITHER of us received. Furthermore, they can send out paper calendars of monthly events but NOT about a crime occurring on the property… Yes, thank you for taking care of your residents.
She also told me that I could place my parking sticker at the top left corner of my car… which is also in the tinted area. Towing peeps couldn’t see my sticker and towed my car.
2) Parking sucks if you don’t have a carport or garage.
They’ve attempted to update their parking system/​issues THREE different times in the past year. This means that residents need to physically go in and exchange the current pass for a new one. The started the 3^rd update 2 weeks ago and have been sending us notices. I appreciate the reminders but this one says that it’s their «fourth attempt at contacting» us and that it takes «about 5 minutes». Yes, I’ve received all the notices and do not need you to passive aggressively tell me that I have not done it yet. I’m busy with my life and will eventually do it… probably on the last day.
3) Hope you’re a heavy sleeper!
I have a dog that doesn’t bark BUT when he is on the balcony and starts barking, I run out there to tell him «No!» and bring him back inside. Not everyone is this considerate. Some people leave their dogs barking outside and don’t do a damn thing about it. It’s really annoying and VERY inconsiderate. People just moved in to the building across us and let their TWO dogs practice to see who can bark louder at anything that passes by the patio. The owner just goes back inside and leaves the door open… Their next door neighbors must be very tolerant.
Walls are THIN. We have a neighbor probably in his late 40s. He likes to play Call of Duty and yell/​scream/​pound on the ground/​cuss VERY loudly. We laugh at it now because he says the most ridiculous things but he use to do it all night to where I couldn’t sleep. We also have dub-​step music lovers below us… that’s fine if you want to get turnt but not at 3am on a weekday.
4) Move-​in
Our apartment had crayon marks everywhere! Under the counter, under the built in desk, on the bath tub, on the blinds, on the walls, on the outlets, on the bathroom counter… you don’t even find all them until you sit on the toilet with nothing else to do and discover them! Fridge had/​has scratches and scuff marks ALL over it. One of the kitchen cabinet shelves was bent. Cleaning supplies were left on the counter.
5) The front office staff is good though…
Megan, Santiago, and Luis usually do a pretty good job of whatever request I put in or following up. Maintenance requests are usually addressed within 2 days.
*If you’re looking for that perfect apartment and perfect management, this isn’t it. Keep looking and let me know when you find it.

Me and my boyfriend have lived here for 3 months and so far we have had a great experience. The apartment was everything I was looking for. Granite counter tops, a garden sized tub, double sinks, stainless steel appliances. Maintenance fast and friendly when it comes to getting things done. The staff, especially Luis, is very helpful and informative. So far we love this place

My husband and I relocated to Austin almost a year ago. I couldn’t be happier with our choice to live at Landing at Double Creek. The staff is incredible and informative. They always go out of their way to make you feel appreciated and welcomed. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. The apartments are spacious yet cozy. The sense of community here is outstanding. I will always recommend these apartments to anyone who wants to relocate to Austin as well. I love living here!

My wife and I have been living here for about 4 months now and absolutely love it here. The staff has been very nice and helpful to us! We were skeptical about this place at first because there were some reviews online that were not very good but after living here 4 months now, we never had any issues like what we saw. So I do believe it’s a great place and you do have to follow the rules here and if you do then everything will be fine and probably some people don’t so they go and post bad fake reviews

No apartment complex is perfect but I’ve really enjoyed living here for the past year and a half. When I first moved in, the parking situation was terrible but since the new management staff took over and implemented better parking rules, it’s gotten much better. Any maintenance issues have been taking care of promptly by the maintenance staff who’s always been friendly and courteous to me. I work from home and receive a lot of shipments and the office staff is great about keeping my shipments secure when I’m traveling for work and they’ve even helped me take boxes to my apartment on several occasions. The events they plan for the residents are great and the new dog park they built has been a great way for me to meet my neighbors. The office staff is always so friendly to my dog and me! The only main complaints I have are about some of my neighbors but there’s not much you can do about that. This is a great place to call home!

We lived in this horrible complex for one year. It was one of the worst experiences of our lives. As other reviewers have stated, the walls are paper thin. We heard everything. Our downstairs neighbor was an obnoxious jerk who apparently did not have a job because he seemed to always be home. He played the bass on his stereo at a level that would drive anyone crazy. He smoked and coughed all the time. I could smell his cigarette smoke through the vent fans in the bathrooms and laundry room. It took months of complaining and documenting my complaints before the staff finally gave him notice to watch the noise level. The staff is rude and condescending. Finding a parking space is a nightmare.
At first glance the finishes of the apartments look nice but when you look closer, you realize the supposed granite counter tops are really cheap with lots of ugly flaws in them.
Bottom line is I would never, ever live in this over-​priced complex again. I would rather live in a refrigerator box.

First of all, I don’t know how some reviewers find the office staff pleasant. They must have never had to make a complaint about anything. Willow is the only one who has ever spoken to me without being condescending.
I lived here for 2 years and I will take some of the blame because I renewed my lease HOPING the new mgmt would be better.
Within the first 6 months all 4 of the track lights in my kitchen burned out. I was the first person living here, what kind of bulbs last only 6 months?! I can’t cook, so I barely even used my kitchen. I was told it was my responsibility to replace these. They’re $ 15 each! Around this time I started noticing how poor the weather stripping was around the doors. I also had fire ants that came up through my downstairs neighbor’s apartment into my closet. Yuck.
When they initiated the new parking rules about tenants getting towed for parking in visitor spaces (even though tenants pay rent), I went in to ask what we should do when those are the only spots available. I was told that was highly unlikely but to call the after hours line. Well guess what, it happened and I called that number. I was told that was not their problem to deal with and that there had to be at least one spot. I waited 20 minutes for one to open as not to be stuck with a $ 200 tow bill.
One night at about 10pm I was letting my dog out for her potty and noticed a somewhat shady individual watching me. He came up the stairs after me, and after I closed my door he tried to open it and come in my apartment. Luckily, I had locked it quickly. I called the police, they dispatched officers, and I filed a police report. I also tried calling the courtesy officer but was told he wasn’t there. I saw the same guy around during the day the next weekend, called the front office, and they had no idea about the last weeks events even though I filed a report with the after hours number and the police. Shortly after this someone had the tires stolen off their car.
I won’t even go into detail about the nasty dumpster, dog poo everywhere, next door construction, and my upstairs neighbor who jackhammered his girl 3 times a day every day.
I’m sure mgmt will comment on this and say I’m just a disgruntled former tenant. That’s probably a decent description after having to deal with these yahoos for 2 years. BTW, I paid rent on time all 24 months. You’re welcome.

These people are ridiculous. Don’t even visit anyone at these apartments because your car will get towed. I had parked in a spot because I did not see a visiting section, or any assigned numbers. They towed my car, I had to pay 180 dlls. All they said was park in the visiting section. Where is that? Put some signs!!! This complex is trying to make a dollar out of anything!!! That is never good!!! Watch out!!!

I wanted to write something after the awesome taco Tuesday we had last night and man am I surprised to see negative reviews. Now I’m even more excited to talk about Landing. I’ve been living here for about 4 months and I am loving it. Yea parking can be a little tricky buy I rented a carport to help with that. The staff is awesome. Really nice and friendly. I also like my neighbors a lot. I got to meet them when I was walking my dog. Overall a great place to live.

Quite a bit has changed in the 6 months from my first review and I’m rather impressed. The management and office staff has really worked to try and make this property better than it was. They’ve added a huge dog park, fixed the landscape, and have done a lot of community events. (Wine down Wednesday, workout classes, free pizza etc). Since my first frustrated update, the wasps nests have been taken care of and it seems it has continued to be monitored for the nests because I haven’t seen many since the original complaint. Parking has gotten much better with the new system but can still be hit or miss some nights. Bottom line, no apartment is perfect. But it’s a great location, reasonably priced for the competitive market, and the staff really does try to make living here as enjoyable as possible. If you can’t tell, I can expect a lot from an apartment, maybe more than most, but the staff has gone above and beyond to work with me. I’m not resigning my lease only because I’m moving out of town, but since my original review, I have started recommending people to check the property out.

It’s a rather pretty property. But, do be fooled by the façade. The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors having conversations. The landscape is crappy, there’s more dead bushes than anything. If you get home past 7−8pm, good luck finding parking. Some nights it’s bearable, other nights you have to park outside the gates and walk to your apartment in the dark. (Most of the few lights they do have are out) They said there was going to be a tow company out here and towing those without permits. That lasted all of a week, maybe two. The office staff can be helpful. But you have to ask repeatedly for something to get done. I had two wasp nests in the entry to my building that were coming to my patio. Seeing as I’m allergic, this is an issue. I had to ask them 4 times before they were (sort of) taken care of. People let their dogs bark for long period of times all hours of the day. As a dog owner myself, this drives me CRAZY because I know how annoying it is for others around me. Other neighbors aren’t as considerate.
I’ve been here and year and already there are no neighbors from when I first moved in here. (Almost throughout the entire building, but definitely on my floor) The turnover rate for tenants here is ridiculous. There’s a moving truck or 3 in here almost daily, but certainly every weekend. I feel like I could go on and on but just save yourself the time and money, don’t bother. You’ll just move out as soon as you can anyway
