The A List Staffing

I just got off the phone with the rudest woman, Debbie Hol (_​). She belittled my intelligence, «you’re not making sense,» for doing the responsible, professional thing of calling them to let them know my job interview had gone long and I couldn’t make it to the assignment til later. Her initial response to my call was, «the position has been filled,» even though I had an email from Elka confirming the assignment. She then proceeded to tell me «we don’t want you» and canceled the rest of the work I had been assigned. I am not the only person this has happened to. At least 3 other people I’ve been on assignment with have told me that this woman, Debbie, has been incredibly rude to them. She needs to be fired.
Also, please take note of all the «5 star» reviews AFTER negative 1 star reviews are posted. Very suspicious…
(Another reviewer was threatened with legal action for writing a negative review. I will keep you posted if that happens.)
So if you don’t mind being punished for continuing your job search and going to interviews, being stripped of your dignity for having the audacity of wanting to work, then this place is PERFECT.

This employment agency does not care about their temp employees. Remember, staffing agencies only care about their clients because that is where they make the most money from. This place is disorganized, lacks communication between employees, and is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked for.
I wrote a review of my experience at Kendra Scott. Shortly after I wrote that review, Ellen from A-​list called me stating I needed to take the review down by a certain time and essentially threatnened me with legal action. I did not violate any agreements/​rules by writing a review of my own personal experience at Kendra Scott.
Please by wary of what you sign there. They will try to prohibit you from basically writing reviews. They seem to forget what the 1^st amendment means there. Please also be aware «Brianna» may tell you something different from «Charlotte», or whomever about a work assignment. They also will have someone different calling you, emailing, and texting you at the same time while you are on a work assignment because of how“organized” they are. They might call your mom too about a work assignment even though she is listed as an emergency contact.
So if you decide to work here keep track of every email and record every call if you can.
I wouldn’t be surprised if their own employees wrote these 5 star reviews since this agency lacks in the integrity department.
So remember, this place approves of letting client’s employees bully you out of a job for the holidays because of their ego’s and in return A list will threaten you with legal repercussions if you write about said experience above.

Very nice staff, which is why they’re getting 1 star. I was guaranteed a job to make some Christmas money, wrapping gifts at Apple. Not what j went to college for, but holiday money for myself and my children. Not only is there no job, the day before it’s supposed to start. They couldn’t be bothered to call and tell me that there was no job. There are non available, and that they didn’t remember that I was even in. Thank you for ruining Christmas.

I can’t say enough great things about this company and all of the gals over there! Right away I noticed how much fun they were having and they all were very upbeat, friendly, helpful and professional. Andrea was who I worked directly with and she really listened to me about what type of temp work I am looking for, and what I would be good at. I was VERY surprised at some of the different types of jobs they have and companies they work with. My appointment was at noon and by 3:00 I was booked for the next week doing something fun and with hours that fit into my schedule!!! I will be recommending A List Staffing to everyone I know that is looking for work and blabbing about them on Social Media! I hoped that I would die never being one of those white people who posted a long Unilocal review, but A List Staffing used me like a prostitute, but a prostitute with less job stability.
They offered me a data entry position at an oil company. I didn’t want to take it because
1) it’s an oil company and according to the Jon Stewart they’re evil, and he seems like a cool guy.
2) it was data entry, a job specifically designed to teach college graduates that society lied about them being special.
But they convinced me the job would almost definitely lead to full time employment. As in oil company money son. As in I would be rich enough to wear a white tuxedo and a cowboy hat and shoot a gun into my office ceiling.
So a dream of a giant oak desk made out of a longhorn convinced me to sell out my morals and start entering data.
Oh did I mention that the place was 75 minutes from my house, because it was 75 minutes from my house. 75 minutes every morning I could’ve spent dreaming about that girl from the progressive commercial (don’t judge my tastes).
I’m working this crap job, hating myself. About two months in, thinking about quitting. Then I’m told that I’m being seriously considered for future employment. Keep working, keep hating myself. Then one day, I’m talking to the guy in the office nobody likes to talk to. You know the one where if you were walking to the break room and see him there, you pretend you were walking to the bathroom then just go back to your desk. I’m cornered by that guy, he tells me that the company has had a hiring freeze for the past three years, and that it is not about to change soon.
I lose it. I’m not a proud man, but I go to my car and sit in it and cry. Dude I told my parents I was going to get hired by this company, I have to tell my parents what a fool I was. I later figure out they did the same thing to the person I replaced except she worked that job for 1.5 YEARS before she figured out. They stole like 2% of a person’s life. Naturally I leave work that day, I contact A-​List. But they pull a George W. Bush, they play dumb to hide the fact that they’re actually evil.
I’m so upset by this (and a bad roommate situation) I actually move to New York, which was kind of dope cause I got to work at Letterman while the show was ending.
Anyway, April comes and I don’t receive my W2 from A-​List. You know the document I definitely need so I don’t have to go to prison one day. I’ve seen OZ.
I contact A-​List, they say they’ll send a W2 in the mail right away. Three weeks later, nothing, so I call again. They say they’ll send a W2 right away.
This happens 6 times. They finally send it after I end up yelling at a receptionist. That was the biggest insult. They turned me into the ultimate white person I never wanted to be. They turned me into the white person who yells at a receptionist on the phone.
I finally got my W2 today, August 13^th. I was waiting since April to submit this Unilocal review.
This company made me feel weak and small and petty, because if they did that they could make $ 80 a day for five months.
Heed my warning, let me be your Upton Sinclair, this staffing agency sucks balls. 1/​10, would not bang.

The A-​List Staffing is the most professional and organized staffing agency in Austin. I moved to Austin on Sunday, interviewed at the A-​List on Monday, and by Tuesday had a fantastic position at a Fortune 500 company. The job opportunities at The A List can only be topped by their superior customer service. All of the ladies are organized, professional, and know you by name. Send them your resume if you haven’t already — what do you have to lose?

I had a great experience with A List!
I had just quit my job where I felt overworked and extremely underpaid. I didn’t want to commit to anything full time because I was so traumatized from my last work experience so I came to A List. They listened to my request to not apply to anything full time but to just dabble in different things until I was ready.
After my first call with them I came in for an interview, explained my situation and they asked typical interview questions. After that I did some online tests, which did not really affect anything they said. Then within the week they called me for 1 – 3 day assignments. My assignments ranged from Jewelry assembly to receptionist positions. Pay was generally $ 12-​$ 14 /​hr which is pretty typical for temp positions. My last temp position was for a two week admin position that lasted four months and has now turned full time. It was nice because I was able to almost test run the job before committing. Also since they were paying the temp agency a large fee for me they were able to give me a huge raise and I became salary.
A List was there every step of the way, constantly checking in and always prompt with their responses. You feel as if they really care– because they do!

Have worked with them the last 3 years, they have been good at placing me for an occasional day job doing parking lot work at the U. of T. during special events. But it only pays $ 10.00 an hour, and no pay raises after all this time. They never have any office work, just these occasional parking jobs. On two occasions they did not want to pay me my wages, had to threaten them to take legal action for my earned pay.
The last few weeks they have been evasive and obviously won’t place me anymore. I asked what I had done wrong and they won’t say, despite perfect attendance and job performance. They never have any office jobs despite my background and skills. No more with them.

Definitely one of the better places in Austin. The staff is very efficient and on the ball about practically everything. They also have a personal touch that other temp agencies sometimes lack. I found them validating and responsive to anything I needed while on assignment, which is saying a lot compared to some other places. I’ve not been active with them for over 2 years and they still call me every year to wish me happy birthday, lol.

I came to Austin for a job interview and that ended up going poorly. Since I was already in town I decided to stop in at a temp agency and see what they might have to offer. I am so glad I did as that was one of the best decisions I ever made. I met with Debbie and after interviewing me she told me about a position that she thought would be a good fit. It was a good position to start with and now after just a couple of months I am a permanent employee there and couldn’t be happier. The people at A List have also always been available and helpful whenever I have needed them. This is a great staffing company that I highly recommend.

The agency never got back to me, I submitted a resume twice and never heard back. They don’t have an office I could visit, only online services and when I followed up after the first time they said they were too busy and couldn’t find my resume through all the others. I never heard from them at all.

Nice people but not particularly adept at marketing. Most roles are under $ 11/​hr and short term a day or two. Don’t expect to find more than very entry level roles here. But they are really nice ladies.

If you are interested in an office manager job as advertised on their website, don’t even waste time with this organization. A friend tried them who was a retail manager overseeing $ 2.7 million in monthly revenue and she was told to take a temporary job making $ 10 an hour! She was left dumbfounded — it was disrespectful. I guess if you want to downgrade your career, this is the perfect recruiter!

Great staffing agency. They sent me to the best place and I miss it already! They are always available to talk and help you every step of the way. So friendly, so sweet and they truly helped me.

I had an amazing experience with A List Staffing. I was referred by my sister-​in-​law who also had a great experience and loves where she works. From the time I applied, to the time I started work, it took about two weeks. I applied, was contacted within a few days, met with Steffanie a week later and interviewed for a job a few days later.
The staff is always so helpful, so willing to answer questions and very quick about returning calls. When I interviewed with Steffanie, at the end of the interview she had some job recommendations that were within my skills and interests and had arranged an interview with the company I now work for by the next day.
For anyone searching for temporary jobs as well, they are very good at contacting you with multiple job opportunities. My current job has a two week break, and Steffanie contacted me with available temp jobs that would fill that break. The staff works hard to help their clients, both as employees and employers.
Without A List, chances are I would not be in the position I am now. I love where I work, and have A List Staffing to thank for that. Please give them a call if you are job searching, they are very professional, and very good at what they do. I would highly recommend The A List Staffing group, it has been a great process from beginning to end.

I have nothing but great things to say about the A List Staffing group. This is my first experience with a staffing agency. Moving from Louisiana to Austin without a job is a bit nerve racking, to say the least, but the A List has helped me through this process, especially Trisha and Megan.
When I went in to meet with Megan, we went over my skills, experience, and my work place preferences. After talking with her, she ended up giving me a lot more confidence in my experience than I had when I walked in the office.
While I was there, I was introduced to all of the members of the staffing team, which it’s nice to put a face to the person who will be giving you assignments.
I met with the A list on a Friday and the following Monday, I had received an assignment. Now that’s faster than I had expected!
If you are needing to find a job, or taking a leap of faith like myself, definitely give the A List a try!

I went into The A-​List because my former job started to cut hours on my schedule. I knew that I could not live on 16 hour work weeks so I had already started the job hunt but then I remembered Unilocal.They led me to The A-​List and that is where I met Steffanie Ngo-​Hatchie and Meg Burkly. Meg was my assigned contact at the A-​List but she was interviewing another person when I arrived.
Steffanie was more than happy to take over the interview process. I told Steffanie exactly what I was looking for in a new job and what my current circumstances were regarding my old (current at the time) job. Steffanie was very thorough on the questions asked and what I was really looking for.
Meg was very kind and just as thorough as Steffanie when Meg had a moment to followup. They found me a job and I must say that I am loving the new job. Thanks Meg and Steffanie!
To give someone my personal experience in a timeline:
March 20, 2013 — Met Meg over the phone
March 21, 2013 — Met Steffanie at The A-​List office (instead of Meg)
March 26, 2013 — Received an email from Meg regarding a potential position — interview setup on the same position
March 29, 2013 — Had the interview with the company and was hired within 2 hours of completing the interview.
March 30, 2013 — Turned in my resignation to my old job
April 1, 2013 — Started the new job
I call that a quick turn around time since I already had a job in which limited my availability to start the new one. Your turn around time WILL vary so keep that in mind.
Keep in mind the three critical steps for this to work:
1) Have to have a resume prepared
2) Have to go into their office for their interview (so that they can gauge your specific needs and wants) and it is IDEAL if you know what kind of work you would like to do
3) Call them every week to let them know that you are available to work (otherwise they may put you on the inactive/​standby list)

I came to Austin in the year 2009, I needed a good job and most employment agencies wouldn’t even talk to me, if I walked into an employment agency office, I was dissmised immediately out the door to go apply on-​line.
The reason I started knocking on doors was because I applied daily to employment agencies on-​line and I felt like I was throwing my resume to a deep black hole, over and over again.
When I walked into Ashby for the first time, they greeted me and explained to me the applying process, they interviewed me on the spot and I got a call a few days later, Asbhy clerks understood exactly my experience and information and matched me with the perfect company.
Unfortunately, the company hired someone else.
4 months later I received a call from Megan, the company wanted to give me a second interview.
At that time, I was already working for another company, so Megan worked with me to negotiate a better pay, WAY BETTER, and to get my benefits once I was conveted into an employee of the company.
While working with Ashby, I never got a single issue with them, and I do have to say, they went above and beyond to help me in every way possible.
4 months later, I converted to a contract employee with the company and I am extremely happy because Asbhy, not only matched my skills and experience but also my personality with the company that I am currently working at.
