Solid greasy, cheesy cheesesteak. I’d steer clear of any of the non-cheesesteak options, the chicken sandwich looked(and I’m told was) dry and bland.

I love Texadelphia’s food. It’s simple and tasty. What I don’t like is when the cashier and the server are so busy flirting and giggling that they fail to put jalapenos in my Texican and give me the most pathetic serving of chips I have ever seen. The motor mile location had terrible service, even when I’m one of three customers there. No excuses.

I travel for a living, cheesesteaks are a staple for me. Texadelphia is high on my list of favorites. Make sure you have room to stuff all the goodness in.

I hope this is the final,“I used to love their food, when I was in High School” for my wife. I order a“No competition burger” and she had the Cheesesteak. We normally share each other’s food. So when she offered me a bite I replied“Why?” It probably tastes the same as my bland-steamed-to-speed-up-the-cooking-process-burger. This qualifies since they place a lid over the burger and you’ll notice only one side is really seared and the other had some grill time but that’s where the magic of the cheese that’s really melted comes in. Next time let my burger cook on its own, takes about 12 mins, I’m willing to wait. Her cheesesteak only had flavor because of the French or Thousand Island dressing/horseradish sauce? Not sure if its correct? Going off taste buds. This will do good with the younger scene and the bar scene. Too rich for most people and missing the mark with those that can afford it. You’ve boxed yourselves in, now get out of it. By the way, If the“No competition burger“is fighting in the steam category. You’re the clear winner in my book. I don’t think I’ll find too many challengers.

When it come to tasty Philly Cheesecakes you can’t go wrong with Texadelphia! I used to frequent the location off of the Drag when I was in college and I miss it. I had forgotten how good it was! I went to meet friends for lunch while a bowl game was going on. I definitely do not recommend it for watching games, as the TV picture quality was lackluster at best. But hey… I went to eat and I could care less about the Aggie game!

I was craving a hot sandwich. I’ve never been to Texadelphia, and my husband said he liked it, so we went. The service was friendly. You order at the counter but someone brings your food to the table. Not a lot of interaction, but they were very nice. They have fried pickles, which I love. Theirs were a little too greasy though. The sandwich was HUGE. It was juicy and cheesy and meaty. I wouldn’t normally put mustard on it, but their mustard sauce is great. Tangy and sharp. I’m not sure what’s in it but I took extra home with me. My only real complaint is that none of the high chairs had working straps. It was a little frustrating making sure the baby didn’t try and climb out every five minutes. But other then that a great first visit. We’ll be back and I’ll drown my sandwich in their mustard sauce.

Tex is a good place for an excellent quick lunch. Try the Founder’s Favoritie(with or without the jalapenos as you like), the Pizza Tex, the queso is good. It’s a touch expensive for lunch. But I’ve found it to be very consistently good, regardless of location.

Philly cheesesteaks always perfectly cooked with meat nice and juicy and taste great with chili con queso poored on top. Their queso is surprisingly good and really completes the sandwich.

I love the fact that if I’m hungover and don’t feel like I can face a big crowd… they have TV’s and will put them on whatever channel you like. This particular location has great management(hell of a nice guy). Their burgers are the main reason I come here. I am quite the eater and even I have a hard time finishing one by myself. Waffle fries. Yes, please. You can customize your burger any way you want and the possibilities are endless and all pretty damn good. The cheese steaks are not what I go for after having eaten legit sammies. but the cheap beer, great burgers and fries and the nice service will keep me coming back. The mustard sauce is great. Works on anything!

Wtf? I can’t have my jalapeño grilled? perhaps its some policy, however I wont be returning. The«steak’ sandwiches are just not cheese steaks, I’m actually still trying to find the cheese… In fact I’m lactose intolerant and this sandwich had no effect on me.

Is it a chain? Yes Is it a good chain? Heck yes! Texadelphia was the first restaurant we ate at when we got to Austin. We sort of wanted to eat local, but being unfamiliar with the area and super hungry we decided to just go with Texasdelphia instead. I got the chicken tenders and fries. The fiancé got a cheesesteak. The chicken tenders were great but the fries were what made the meal. They were the best fries i’ve ever eaten, and thats saying a lot because i’ve eaten A LOT of fries in my 26 years of life. The fiancée said the cheesesteak was pretty good, not like one you’d find in Philly, but even so really good. The staff was super nice. It was slow so the manager chatted with us for awhile and told us we’d made a good decision to move to Austin– and so far we agree!

So, this is my local Texadelphia and I go back for three reasons: i) The burger meat is delicious and the burgers are HUGE! ii) The manager is a personable and knowledgeable fellow(cute, too, and more like a bartender than a manager, though ever courteous and professional) who’s managed to hire people who are just as nice, courteous, and personable as he is. iii) They accommodate my bunless, cheeseless, grilled everything, with avocados on the side take-out orders without a single eye-roll and occasionally, they arrange everything on the lettuce so it looks like a work of art. Personalised service cannot be beat :-) So, will I be back? Of course, I will. I think I’m almost a regular. Besides, they’re around the way and it’s kinda fun to see how long it takes to get my Texadelphia card stamped 5 times after which I get a free entreé.(This used to take me a whole year to accomplish!) Cheers!

We stopped in for a quick dinner before a meeting(which turned out to have PLENTY of food, I should have just waited) yesterday evening. I’ve met a Philly Cheesesteak, and you, sir, are no Philly Cheesesteak. In fact, this was no kind of cheesesteak at all, as I could find no evidence of cheese OR steak. The meat(which in no way could be classified as any KIND of steak) was cooked into crispy, dry little fragments that I couldn’t even swallow without drowning the whole thing in ranch dressing. There might have been cheese in there, but I would have needed a microscope to find it, and it didn’t help the dry, crustiness of the meat at all. And when I lifted the thing to my mouth it had a slightly rotten smell to it. It just smelled. .. bad. This was terrible, terrible food, and I will never go back. Oh, and the tea was sour too. Bleh. I hoped for better. I hope I never find worse.

I frequent Texadelphia anytime I am in the Austin area. My wife and I stopped here on our way to Seguin earlier this week. If you go after 3:00 pm, you can get regular cheesesteak sandwiches for $ 5.00, and I promise you that you will enjoy it more than anything at Subway! We ordered two Founder’s Favorites, chips and queso, and two drinks for around $ 20.00 with tip. Ch-yeah this place is good! Will gladly stop here again!

I’ve only been to a Texadelphia once. As I came here for the second time ever, I was a little apprehensive, having brought my notoriously picky-eater boyfriend. The thing I love about Texadelphia is that it has a very fun«sports bar» type feel, except(thankfully) without the crappy bar food, obnoxiously loud TV’s, bad music, or dirty tables. One reviewer here was spot on when she said it was VERY clean. Good sports bar to take your hubby to without you or your children feeling out of place. The service was very friendly, and fast. And, as before, their food is orgasmically good. Now, I’m not a major foodie, but I won’t pick just anything either. My guacamole burger was superbly delicious – and big enough for two people. The fries are those AMAZING crispy waffle fries, and the mustard, ranch, or queso sauces are all«home» made, and are absolutely mouth watering. Even my picky, picky boyfriend was very satisfied and even mentioned that we should go back(coming from him, that’s a lot)! Reasonably priced, too. For a big ass burger, a huge Cheese steak, chips, fries, and two drinks, I spent about $ 17. Not bad at all. If we weren’t all the way in Round Rock, we would be there more often!

2 visits in 2 weeks? Yes, I plan on making more. I don’t know what it is, but I have this god awful craving for spicy mustard and ranch on my cheese steak. Not just on top but I dip the entire thing in it. I even dip my chips in it and my curly fries. My inner sororiwhore is cutting loose and out of control. I’ve never had a problem with the staff. Kudos for carding me every time and making me feel young.

Here’s why Texadelphia still sucks: (1) I walk up to the counter to place my order. (2) I order a sandwich and ask for grilled jalapenos. (3) Person taking my order says«ok» (4) I re-iterate«I would really like to have those jalapenos grilled, please.» (5) Response is «Got it… no problem.» (6) I pay and take a seat. (7) A few minutes later, out comes the sandwich, piled high with raw jalapenos. WTF? I do this about every six months… each time it’s the exact same thing. «No problem… we’ld be happy to grill the jalapenos for you.» And every time I get served raw jalapenos.

This review is not about food, it’s about service. The food at Texadelphia is great, we all know that. The mustard sauce is freaky good, and they make my favorite cheesesteak on earth. However, they fail, and fail miserably. Sunday hours are posted on the website. Open at 11. It’s my husband’s birthday, and we want to pig out on big cheesesteaks. We call. No one answers. What the hell? We call again, finally someone answers. «Just so you know, we open at twelve» «Just so you know, your web site says you open at 11.» «That’s on week days.» «I’m looking right at it, and it says 11. Just so you know.» So, no cheesesteak for us. I go to the«contact us» on their web site to let them know they should probably update their hours. And the email gets returned. Full of fail.

I went through a phase where I didn’t eat red meat for awhile. Texadelphia is what brought me back. Their regular cheesesteak, minus the onions, add mushrooms, ranch on one side and the special mustard sauce on the other. OMG! Not to mention they have some of the best queso in town. Check out their happy hour specials. It’s really cheap and a spot I never would have thought of going for Happy Hour.

I most likely take at least a month or two off the end of my life every time I walk in the door but it just might be worth it. As a kid I used to go to Steak Escape in the malls in California. At the time I had no concern for my health and thought little about the future, hell I was a kid. Now as I grow older and wiser, much like Yoda, I find I must actually consider these things. Even when considering what is really«good» for me and«bad» for me I still can’t help but make a little trip to Texadelphia once in a while. Quite simply, it reminds me of cheese steaks from the mall as a kid. They are ridiculously greasy, to the point it should be a felony, and they are so chock full of flavor that you just can’t stop eating. The chips are alright, the salsa from a Pace bottle but who really cares the damn sandwiches are insanely good. You have to at least stop to try one, just make sure you leave your health conscience at home.
