SUPATX is a national brand. They have a store in Southern California, Austin, and Florida. The Austin location is near the Freebirds world Burritos. The store is a single room with boards lined up on the walls. If you want, you can check out the SUPATX website and see a live feed (uh, kind of stalker like haha).
With my familiarity from surfing, a used board was my intention. I met Chris, who was extremely helpful. He showed me two used boards and gave me the history behind them. One board was in stellar condition with some wear and tear. The other board had a dent from shipping, which they repaired. I purchased the formerly dented board and he told me that they will fix it if I have any issues in the future. He hooked it up with a great deal.
Because we had some kill time, he let us play with the balance board in the shop. He did not mind us bringing our dog into the shop. Lastly, he helped us strap the board to the SUV.
Finally, they sell a variety of accessories: water cameras, dry pouches, leashes, bags, coolers, waterproof speakers, etc.

I am completely wowed by the customer service at SupATX! We got the most awesome paddle board as a last minute family Christmas gift! I was in a serious pinch for time and Dale offered to meet me halfway between Austin and Houston for a personal delivery. Their personal service exceeded my expectations in every way! Thank you for making our family’s Christmas wish come true despite my lack of planning!

Had absolutely fantastic service from SUPATX! I had never been paddle boarding before I moved to Austin but had to try it! I went to the Thursday/​Sunday meetups a few times and was hooked! After going for free all summer I finally decided to go into the shop and consider buying one so I could go whenever I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised to see the same guy who is at the meetup every week in the shop! Dale was very helpful and friendly! He spent a lot of time with me and didn’t pressure me to purchase. I had to go home and think about it. Took me about 2 weeks before I was back! He remembered me and set me up with a great board! Thanks for all your help! Loving being out on the water whenever I want.

I was thoroughly impressed by the SUPATX showroom and all of the employees. I mainly dealt with Dale, the manager, who was beyond knowledgeable about all of the different paddle boards. I instantly fell in love with paddling after renting a few times and knew I wanted one for myself. However, because I was still so new to the sport, I had a ton of questions and had no clue which board would best suit me. Dale took a lot of time to explain the different types of boards and we found one that was a perfect fit for me. In addition, Chris taught me how to transport the board on and off my car (which I was super nervous about) and how to strap it correctly to my car. I love my board and would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a great paddle board product along with great and friendly service! I will definitely be going back soon to start adding all of the awesome accessories to my board! Thanks guys! :)

I was planning a surprise 30^th birthday present for my husband and worked for weeks to pull money together from friends and family to contribute to a Stand Up Paddle. Tim, one of the sales reps was very helpful with selecting a board they did not have in the store. He told me he would call and confirm the total price of the board and paddles (including tax) within 2 days. He called, and we agreed on a price. The board came in about 1.5 weeks later. The same day he called to let me know the board arrived, I told him I had seen a Groupon deal and asked if the deal would apply to the price he quoted me. He told me yes.
To make the actual purchase, Tim’s manager Dale called me to get the payment information. Dale quoted me a price above the price Tim had told me and told me the Groupon deal would not apply as Tim had previously confirmed. I asked Dale to please call Tim to try to clarify what I had been told. Dale rudely told me that he was Tim’s manager and no such phone call would be necessary. Dale basically tried to increase the price after I purchased the Groupon, which goes against their policies. He told me that his employee had misunderstood the price and was probably quoting me a total price after the Groupon. I told him three times that there had been no mention of a Groupon until after the price, including tax, had been confirmed. According to Dale, I didn’t have my facts straight. I told Dale I was no longer going to purchase the board and would be asking for a refund for the Groupon. He basically said ok and hung up on me.
My husband’s whole 30^th birthday surprise revolved around him getting his paddle board delivered the next day and going out paddling with friends in the afternoon. Dale’s little power trip resulted in ruining the whole plan. Needless to say, I was really upset (also, I’m four months pregnant, which is completely irrelevant to the review other than making Dale’s rudeness particularly upsetting) and I had to hand a card to my husband the next day instead of having him open the front door to his new paddleboard.
In the end, it all worked out. I didn’t have to do business with dishonest, rude people, and we went shopping at Austin Paddleworks the next day. My husband found a beautiful board that cost just a bit more than the SUP ATX board but was of higher quality and more unique. The employees there told me that the whole price discrepancy was for the best, because SUP ATX boards have a terrible reputation for lasting less than 2 years and getting damaged easily.

These guys are AWESOME! We went in to get a paddle board for my husband and they totally hooked us up and I ended up with a paddle board too! They were super knowledgeable and helpful and even delivered our paddle boards to us for free!

I just bought my first paddleboard here. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and they have a great selection of paddleboards. I highly recommend them, whether you’re a novice or experienced, they will help you find the right paddleboard for you!
