I was so excited my husband and I entered Sunglass Hut… We have purchased the last few pairs of his sunglasses here! I had been eyeing a $ 300. Pair of Prada shades for a log while… I went right to my little baby ahh soon you will be mine. Still a small decision had to be made with in the Prada choices with the curly queues sides … Enter husband great taste. I modeled the great looking shades the 3 sales men in a attempt at doing there job rattled off which movie starts sported them(while really gossiping amongst themselves). No matter who else had them they will soon be mine. Durning a moment of silents for whatever reason the one salesman said«yeah most men really hate those curly queues on the side of the glasses»! It took but a second or two for me to flat out leave… without my SHADEs. So to you salesmen who worked the Beecave store at 11:30 Saturday after Thanksgiving … Maybe you should not have said what you thought my husband wanted to hear. Maybe paid attention to what was going on instead of guessing. Sometimes men love their wives enough to do anything to make them happy.

We have purchased several pairs of sunglasses from this chain and while we were relatively pleased with the product, we have recently discovered the nasty little truth behind this store as well as Lens Crafters. While on vacation in Maui last year, we purchased a pair of men’s Prada sunglasses from Sunglass Hut because we liked the fact that we could take them to the store near our home in Austin for cleaning and maintenance. A year later and the Prada lenses started to peel much like a bad auto window tinting. We returned to the Sunglass Hut and they told us we needed to send them to the manufacturer, Luxottica Group, for evaluation.(Or we could purchase another pair for 50% off– see the money making scheme unraveling here???) This entailed long phone wait periods with Luxottica to speak with someone, an out of pocket MONEYORDER cost for evaluation and certified mail. That’s a pretty big hassle considering the cost of these cheap plastic glasses. When my Chanel bag broke, the store gladly handled the repairs for me. So, I did some research only to discover that this«shady» Italian owned Luxottica group is actually a monopoly that OWNS Sunglass Hut and most of the cheaply produced and highly inflated products that they sell. SHAME! SCAMMERS! I should be able to have Sunglass Hut handle this huge inconvenience on our behalf since Luxottica OWNS them. We are so frustrated by being duped that we will likely just throw the glasses away and stick to Walgreens shades, but I thought I should share the truth behind this monopoly so consumers will think twice before shopping here. Here’s the dirty little truth revealed:

Nick was great. I have both bought new Ray Bans at this store and also had them repair broken Ray Bans. They are always willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommend.
