Great BBQ. No sauce needed as the meat is moist and smokey! Owner is a great guy too.

I had no idea this place was here until I was driving out to the zoo. Made it a point to stop by on my way home, and, man, did I do right by myself! Got a couple of brisket tacos($ 4). The brisket is buttery and smokey, with a nice little crunch of pepper around the edges. The barbecue sauce was perfect, not overly sweet or thick, and… well, my daughter’s not awake yet and I’m seriously considering eating hers.

Mickey serves some great BBQ. He is generous in his serving size and samples. He is also quite the storyteller if you have time. Good ol’ Southern Gentleman hospitality. I would proudly serve his food to anyone coming into Texas from out of state, even though they would want Salt Lick.

Amazing BBQ tacos, also has sausage and sides. Dangerous to have in a spot you pass everyday.

Holy Hell! This may have been the best breakfast taco I’ve had in recent memory. The BEAST was served piping hot on a fresh cooked tortilla with eggs, cheese, bacon, slow-smoked & tender angus beef brisket, and delicious sausage — all topped with homemade salsa. It made my morning and I’ll be stopping back by to visit Mickey & purchase a boatload of Beast tacos for my colleagues who were all envious when they smelled the amazing smoked flavor of my breakfast. Be advised — this is not fast food; the one-man operation turns out made-to-order food with care, so you may need to wait a few minutes while the chef works his magic. Trust me — it will be worth the wait!

He is now in the Oak Hill area, corner of Thomas Springs Rd and Circle Dr to be exact. Went this past weekend and he was sold out of brisket(must be good). So I ordered a sausage wrap and pulled pork taco, man were they good! Bbq sauce is just perfect not too sweet and he doesn’t pour it all over pork to give it flavor. Pork had amazing smokey flavor, can not wait to go back and get some brisket.

I spotted this food truck for the first time today near the intersection of Manchaca Road and FM1626. He was set up at the front edge of Giddy Up’s parking lot. I caught him right as he was setting up everything, so he told me the whole menu wasn’t available just yet, but he was able to hook me up with a brisket sausage combo taco, a side of smoked corn on the cob, and a side of potato salad. Everything was amazing, especially the tasty BBQ sauce he put on the brisket and sausage! I’ll definitely be going back to try out the fried fish and shrimp next time.
