Meet the Business Owner

Russell H.

Business Owner

Russell Haertl started his professional career in the restaurant/service industry. Trained by his Father, a German immigrant, he believes success should be based on quality customer service & meticulous attention to detail. While working as a Sous Chef at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston, he began working in the window film industry as a means to make some extra money. He fell in love with Austin after a visit then promptly moved here and started Sun Tint in 1982. The plan was to sell the business after establishing it then move to Europe for Culinary School. Well, the window film business was good and he decided to stay.
