Sub Kabob

What a bang for your buck. The food at sub kabob is always high quality and a very large portion size. You get what you pay for here. The line can be a bit long with other patrons who know the value but it’s always worth it. I’ve never gone and been disappointed with the food quality! What a find.

Used to be good, seems to gone down hill. First time I had been back in a few months, had the veggie plate and it didn’t taste very fresh. Also they are closed at random times and you can never guess when they will be open

We waited 50 – 55 minutes for our lunch. The owner (Happii) was not there so I complained to the gas station manager. He cared less. My gyro meat was mostly overcooked, fries were not fried enough. I wish I did not go there at all. I will never come back.

My heart hurts right now. I’m sitting here eating the food I just picked up and my heart aches because I forgot to tip. I wasn’t thinking and I didn’t tip them. And I feel so so bad because this food is GOOD. The portion is enough to feed two people and everything is tasty. I got the hummus plate with gyro and dolmas. Solid, all around. Why did I forget to tip. I suck.

I wish I had found this place sooner! Some of the best and fairly priced Mediterranean food in town. They take call ahead orders but waiting isn’t bad either. It’s definitely worth it. The gyro is delicious!

I don’t like to eat at food trucks but I’m in Texas and there’s so many of them here. I was craving Greek food and found this place. It usually takes me a while to review something but I just threw up and it had to be because of this place cuz no matter how sick I get I never throw up and this. I couldn’t hold it in. I was ambitious to try it and it’s about the experience and stuff but no, let’s just say I won’t be craving any Greek food for a long time :(

I love when surprises like this happen. You wouldn’t think that a trailer right next to a gas station would impress you, but this place did it to me.
Flavorful food, large portions, cheap prices, and fresh ingredients… really, what more could you ask for? I’m in love with their falafel, and the hummus is great. I’ve only tried their shawarma, (which was delicious), but I intend to try some other dishes as well. You’re a hidden gem, Sub Kabob, and I like you.
Oh, and while I don’t think they have drinks, they’re obviously right next to the gas station, so run in there and get your beer/​soda/​water while your food is being prepared, and you’re all set. Go with an empty stomach, or else plan on leftovers!

This was fate. We just happened to fill up at the adjacent Texaco before returning the car to work after a long trip and my coworker pointed this place out. I was starving and didn’t feel like fast food. I went up to order and was greeted by a friendly man. I ordered the gyro and chicken shawarma. They were ready within several minutes and I was on my way. When I unwrapped the gyro, I was stunned at how large it was. I have had bad gyros in my time that contained It was stuffed with well seasoned lamb that was delicious and was devoid of any bad pieces. The shawarma was just as big and delicious so I had it for lunch the next day.

I was moving my sister’s belongings into the storage facility next door and the movers and I were starving. I went to the food truck thinking it was a taco stand. To my surprise it was Greek food. I ended up buying everyone gyros… OMG some of the best I’ve ever had. The owner is super nice too. It’s a pleasure to drive all the way from Round Rock for this yummy goodness.

I’ve only had the chicken shawerma sandwhich so far. It was ok. REALLY salty is my one complaint. It’s big, though, and tastes good. They are quick, so that’s another plus. Oh, I lie — one more thing. When a costumer walks up and you aren’t quite ready to help them, just say «be right there…» or acknowledge them. I’ll go back for sure, and may update this depending on my experience!

Do not let the location fool you, this is a good kabob. The bread is fluffy and light, the meat is well seasoned and tender, and the Greek yogurt is spot on.
The falafal balls are huge and flavorful not bland like may of the ones that you get most places. I wish the hummus had more spice to it but that is my personal preference, they use a more traditional flavor for the hummus.
You cannot go wrong with this place if you are in the area.

I’ve eaten gyros in several different places in this country and a few in Europe. No gyro has ever come close to being as good as the ones served at Sub Kabob. What’s even better is that you typically see the owner, Happii, in the trailer doing a lot of the grunt work. That’s quality dedication from a man who could easily not work another day in his life considering the wise investments that he’s made in his life. And he’s sincerely delighted to do it.
I even took a woman here on a first date and it she absolutely loved it! Versatility! That’s what I’m talkin’ about! Hahaha!
Go here! You won’t regret it!

PIcked up the kufta platter for lunch. Got two giant kuftas, a mound of rice and a salad along with pita, italian dressing, tzatzki and utensils in my bag. I was hungry like woah and only finished one giant kufta, so now I have two meals for $ 8. Ye gods. The kufta was spiced well and the only complaint I could make was that the black olive was sweet and not briny. BIG WHOOP.
I want this place to succeed with my whole heart. I want to bring my friends here and sit in the parking lot and just be amazed at the food together. Make this happen with your friends, too.
Bonus: People watching at the Texaco gas pumps. Lots of $$ cars.

Who would have thought that the best gyros in Austin originate in a small trailer in the parking lot of a Texaco station? Wow! The ingredients are so fresh and tender and Happii provides the absolute best in customer service. He just met me yesterday and already remembered my name and greeted me with a handshake. Yes! The food is that good that this is my 2^nd trip here in two days. Plus, I took my wife a gyro yesterday and she requested TWO today: one for now and one for later! Haha! You seriously need to swing by and check out Sub Kabob. Prices are also great ($ 4.99 for a gyro). This place is 5+stars in my book! You will not be disappointed my fellow Unilocalers. Tell Happii that Edward sent you!

There’s nothing I love more than discovering a small business in my own neighborhood so friendly and eager to please. Happii and his staff cooked up a delicious lunch for me and I will definitely be coming back regularly.

Delicious! Their rice is perfect and fluffy. The chicken and beef are good too. I have ordered here in large quantities for work peeps and it is always fast and the portions are huge. Go in and talk to Happi! He will make your entire day!

We got the hummus, kebab plate, chicken schwarma plate and gyro plate. All of it was Delish. For $ 4 you get a good amount of hummus. The rice alone is good enough reason to come here. The chicken was good and flavorful, the kebab was my favorite and my wife’s favorite was the gyro plate. The third party liked the gyro plate the best (the dish she ordered)
This isn’t the gyro meat from sisco, this tasted unique and tasty.
Will be back, convenient location. Call ahead worked like a charm, glad I read other Unilocal before coming here.

This was delicious, the chicken was a little dry, but still worth going back for. I go back frequently, and im salivating so much i forget to check in.

So excited to have a food truck so close to our house! The food is surprisingly really good. We’ve tried the kabob combo platter, chicken shawerma platter, and falafel bites. Honestly, this is some of the best grilled meat (Middle Eastern/​Mediterranean style) we’ve had in Austin so far. Owner is a super nice guy which is awesome as well.
The cons: falafel was super dry and unless you call ahead, there will be a wait. The plus side to that is everything is made to order and fresh, but we definitely call ahead now.
