I want to personal thank the whole staff including owners and management! You guys are so amazing for opening up for the reception for one of your own and our loved friend/family member, Travis Sprinkle! The food was amazing and service was outstanding! We have eaten here twice, the first time we have to say that the steaks were some of the best we have ever eaten! The second time was only good but that was probably down to the fact that we had spend the previous two hours sampling the wide range of cocktails on offer at the bar and enjoying the sunset! There is live music most weekends so do make sure you book in advance.

We chose Steiner Ranch to celebrate new years eve and I was disappointed with the quality of the food I was served. The appetizer arrived at our table and it was barely warm, not a good start. I ordered the filet mignon which comes with two sides, mashed potatoes and broccoli. I asked to substitute the mashed potatoes for scallop potatoes and was told NO. The main courses arrived in timely manner, but not everyone at our table got their food at the same time. The filet mignon was good, but not out of this world. They don’t even included a salad with your main course, so you are paying $ 40.00 for small filet mignon and mashed potatoes and broccoli. They are way overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you receive. I wish they had a chef capable of delivering the quality of food they charge you for. Would not recommend to anyone from out of town as the place to go for a good quality steak.

Great experience! I had a Steak which was excellent and my wife had a chicken salad. We’re from Chicago and are quite spoiled by Steakhouses. The Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is on a par with them.

Of all of the reviews I have made on Unilocal, this is the overall best restaurant I have reviewed. CUSTOMERSERVICE From the valet parking to the hostesses, to every server we encountered, EVEVERYONE was friendly and professional. You feel important to them when they seat you and let you know the name of the server who will be right with you to serve you. Our server Onyama, was great. You could see he really enjoyed his job. We asked for a wine recommendation for both a white and red. In the case of the white, he brought a small tasting glass out so my date could taste it. She told him she wanted something that was not too sweet, but not too dry. She thought his recommendation was perfect. In my case, I asked for a Merlot recommendation. His knowledge of wine was impressive. He suggested a Skyfall Vinyard Merlot. Told me it was his favorite. I ordered it and it was really good. We ordered several courses, and each came out of the kitchen at the right time for us. Onyma and his assistant server were both very attentive to removing used plates and keeping our water glass full without hovering. FOOD We had read about a smoked ribeye steak on a previous Unilocal review, but didn’t see it on the menu. Right as we were about to ask about it, Onyma told us the chef’s special was an 18 oz ribeye. We wanted to try it but knew neither of us could eat that much meat. His suggestion was that we split it, and he bring out a full serving of mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The hickory smoked ribeye was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. We ordered it medium-rare, and it was cooked perfectly. It needed no seasoning or salt and pepper. For that matter, neither did the mashed potatoes or asparagus. The portions were generous and the everything was tasty and hot. DESERT My date and I split the molten lava cake. When our server brought it out, There was a great deal of performance art that went with serving it. He had a large tray with all the toppings which included fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, chopped pecans, and a large plate of fresh whipped cream. He asked us about how much of each topping we wanted as he built the desert in front of us. After setting it in front of us with two spoons, he left a small bowl of powdered sugar next to it and suggested we sugar to taste. I highly recommend this desert, though he said most people like other options better. If I could have, I would have given this steakhouse 10 stars. It really was as good as you can get.

We had my Dad’s birthday meal there tonight; upstairs. Kevin was absolutely wonderful. The New York Strip was perfect and cooked and seasoned to perfection. The crab cakes, bread pudding and rolls were all excellent. The baked potato fixings was excellent as well. We will be back.

The venue, the atmosphere, the service and the foods are all out of this world amazing! I highly recommend the smoked ribeye steak with lobster butter, the lobster mac and cheese. The steak was melt in your mouth heavenly good! Live music was playing on the patio and a bon fire was lit. Amazing place with amazing food! This has set a new standard for me on fine dinning.

We’ve been here almost every week for either dinner or brunch and it’s consistently been phenomenal! For a self-proclaimed steak snob, this place does it just right, and their view, service, attention to detail and ambiance has been wonderful! Definitely try the Sunday brunch! A catered-style buffet of maybe 40 sweet and savory options including eggs Benedict, quiche, Migas, omelet station, cut turkey and roast beef, stuffed French toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, and WAY more! All for less than $ 20! Their pepper steak is one of my favorites for dinner! They always make sure your steak is done right and the accompanying mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies are delish! We also always get their lobster mac and cheese and it is amazing!

Steaks are great, but pricey. Ordered quite a few snacks from their app menu, none of them let our group down. I will say this though, the views from the balcony at sundown are stunning! Would love to revisit Steiner Ranch Steakhouse next time I’m in town again.

I love me a fancy steak dinner with live music on a patio with a view! How could you go wrong with all of that and off the charts fantastic food and service? They do offer valet parking but, there is ample parking in the parking lot! The restaurant and the bathrooms are well appointed, clean and the patio is just jaw dropping gorgeous. The misting fans kept us nice and cool even on this hot summer evening. A definite plus and I think other restaurants need to step up their game since we know you can cool the outside like that with more fans. Our service was five stars all the way as was all the staff that we interacted with. Buffalo Quail Legs: The quail was crisped to perfection on the outside but, still tender, juicy and flavorful on the inside. I couldn’t get enough of the garlic barbecue buffalo sauce with the Gorgonzola dipping sauce. Seriously, order this item! Wedge Salad: Huge portion with fresh toppings and not over powered by bleu cheese because they use Gorgonzola crumbles but, bleu cheese dressing! I am a sucker for a good wedge salad and this one is up there in my top 5 in Austin. Texas Ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccoli: The ribeye was the perfect temperature and seasoned to perfection. I love when the seasoning flavors are cooked into the steak and not just an after thought. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the broccoli was steamed well but, I thought it could have had a dusting of spices on top to enhance it. We ordered a couple of bottles of red wine to share and as you would expect in a place of this caliber, their wine matches the top quality of the food. We had a couple martini’s after dinner while we moved to the railing to sit and enjoy the view of the sunset. Those cocktails were well made as well and really the view and the food are equally as good here. Definitely a great date spot, life celebrations spot or a good spot to bring out of town guests to show them the hill country views!

«Good, but not good enough for the price» Just what you’d expect here; refined, upscale atmosphere and crowd. Impeccable serivce. Realize that you’re paying for the view, because the food is not that much better than any of the other less expensive steakhouses I’ve tried in Austin. Definitely a cut above several of them, not not head an shoulders above their peers from the perspective of food quality. For the same money, I’d rather hit Estancia and have more variety.

I would really love to give this place 3 ½ stars, but I’ll round them up just because the atmosphere is really nice. It’s a beautiful place to go for a sunset dinner. The food is good, not great for the price. If the cost was 10−20% less I might say great, but I think you can find the same quality other places for less. We’ve been here a couple of times and both times the service has been pleasant and fairly quick. It is a nice place to take visiting friends and family!

We were invited here today to celebrate a young man’s high school graduation. We had the $ 19.99 per person buffet brunch. The food and the service were really good. The views of the lake were top notch. We thought it was a tad pricey, but it is a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions like graduations, showers, weddings, and etc… This place is worth checking out. Very nice!

When in Rome… or in this case a long way from home(78704) do as the locals do. Steiner Ranch appears to be the best option out here. Quick and dirty: The building and décor are nice. On a hill overlooking the lake. The patio dining area adds another level. The food was decent and met expectations for the area. Not downtown quality but the best nearby. The way-west Austinites are an interesting breed and I somehow got their vibe in this moment. We coexisted like we were all from the same tribe. For that I am a very proud human being!

This place has it all! Steiner is our go to place for special occasions and it has yet to disappoint. The food is spectacular and the environment is even better. I typically order quail legs for an appetizer(similar to wings, but better!) and she crab soup and scallops for dinner, I know I know, its a STEAKHOUSE but the scallops are the best I’ve had. For birthdays they bring out bread pudding(on the house) and that too is really great. If it is nice out, try and sit outside(but not too close to the band if you want to be able to converse with your neighbor). If Suede is playing you must go, they are one of my favorite bands that play there. It gets even better; $ 20 Sunday buffet brunch that has everything under the sun. With all that said, I agree with the 5 stars«Woohoo! As good as it gets!»

Amazing setting for a restaurant with great views. They offer valet parking, but there are plenty of parking spaces close to the beautiful entrance. The lobby was informal with saddle horses to ride. They offer patio, private dining or open seating. It was a cool evening and we only had five in our group, so we sat in the regular dining room. The round table was large and comfortable. They can use candles and low lighting because the menus have their own lights. Cool. We split their huge wedge salads and ordered lobster macaroni and cheese for appetizers. Their rolls are hot, soft and delicious with butter. Most of us ordered steaks – filet mignon and pepper steaks. Mine had too much fat but the pepper sauce was perfect. Others said their scallops and chicken were just ok. Good mashed potatoes and green beans. We didn’t order dessert because there was lemon cake at home. Our server was attentive and helpful. There was a pianist which was nice.

We came here for a work event on a Saturday night. This is a popular place. The bar was very crowded, standing room only. It took a long time for our room to be ready, so we were all awkwardly standing around the bar area waiting for our room. You know how you have to keep sidestepping to get out of the way of traffic? So that wasn’t great. Once we got to our room, things improved. The drinks were delicious and the food was very good. I particularly liked the scallops. The room for groups is quite nice and I suspect has a pretty good view in the daytime. The service was also good once we were in the room. The décor downstairs is pretty typical Texas steakhouse décor. Based on this experience, I’d like to return during a less popular time and actually order a steak… and check out the view. I’ll definitely have another martini.

This place is beautiful!!! Floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the lake and hills. We took our out of town coworkers here for a business dinner and it was perfect. The servers were very attentive and made sure the cocktail hour, apps, entrée and dessert were well timed. Appetizers — We had seared ahi tuna, toronadas(like bruschetta), and fried quail legs for our appetizer/cocktail hour. I don’t typically like raw fish but the ahi tuna was my favorite! Entrée — I had the filet and it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. We shared sides — broccoli, LOBSTERMAC, and mashed potatoes. As you can tell the lobster mac was my favorite and they did not skimp on the lobster. Dessert — Bourbon bread pudding. The sauce on top of the bread pudding made the dish. Excellent view, attentive service, outstanding food. Go here for your next date!
