Solaris Apartments

Horrendous office staff, who uses the excuse of not having a manger to be absolutely useless. Was told one price until 1 wk before we moved in and it was $ 100 more, but since we had to be out of our old place there was no time to find somewhere else to live, we acquiesced and moved in. The area is fine, the neighbors are awesome, I love the location… but the staff sux HARD! They leased us an apt with a front door that wouldn’t lock, scratched up laminate floors, incomplete paint job, and broken AC. BEWARE! Don’t believe anything the office staff tells you, get everything in writing, and be prepared to lawyer up because the corporate owner is even worse, and uses the excuse of the complex not having a manager. Um… hello…you can hire one, but I’m sure that would require someone with a sense of customer appreciation, and there’s no one here who gives two shits

The completely unfortunate part about this place is that it is the cheapest place in town. So no matter how bad the living conditions are, a lot of people with low income have to suffer and live a miserable life so they have shelter over their head. This place is way too big and has way too many apartments that they can’t keep up with them all. My mom has regrettably taken part in residence here and seeing how these people treat their tenants absolutely disgusts me. Not only does the staff lack basic human skills but the apartments themselves should be demolished due to hazardous living conditions, the lack of up keep and the kind of cover ups they do to make it look liveable.
With every move in you make a list of broken things or anything you feel should be replaced. My mother created a list of things that included mold in the bath tub and under sinks that you could smell as well as decaying animal smell, the front door not being able to shut and lock properly, bugs in the cracks of the walls, blown fuses in light switches, flooding of the front porch when it rains and many more. For 1, living with these issues is not only a safety hazard but a HEALTH hazard! The issues have been addressed time and time again with a reply of «we’ll send someone out to look at it» and, surprise! No one has, ever. And she pays $ 5/​month for «pest fees» for what!!! Oh wait I get it, the fine print must say you pay $ 5 a month to have bugs where you eat and sleep. It’s cheap company so you don’t get lonely.
To top it all off, my mother walked outside one morning and her car was gone. First thought was that someone stole it, considering the part of town that it resides in. Then she found a piece of plastic that had «wrecker» written on it. It looked like something they put behind the tires or something. I had to leave work to come get her to drive her to the front office because thats how far it is from her building… first We looked at the other cars to make sure we weren’t supposed to have some sort of sticker for parking… no cars had anything. So I went to the front office to get some answers and we found out that they towed her car because it didn’t have a parking permit. The lady who got my mom into the apartment had forgotten to give her a sticker. She called the tow company to make sure they had it and asked that they release it at no charge to us and gave us the address. I asked her «so you’re going to have them bring it back, right? Or have someone go get it?» She said no that we had to go get it (across town mind you) and said it was her fault so she released it no charge to us, like i was going to pay for her mistake anyway or that it was supposed to make up for the inconvenience. She gave us the sticker and we went and got her car and I missed an entire day of work because of it. That happened about a week ago and I’ve tried to call when I have time to speak with a manager about it and to my surprise every time I call «they don’t have a manager» don’t have a manager? Or don’t give a crap?
If I could give this place 0 stars I wouldn’t hesitate. But maybe they do deserve atleast 1 star because their front lobby and pool area are immaculate and very misleading. If you can stretch your budget a little more, do it and go somewhere else. I pray that this places gets new management and makes some changes because until then, I will continue to warn people and urge them to go elsewhere.

by far the worst place ever to live!!! roaches, other people’s sewer coming up through the bath tub, toilet always backing up, and management totally sucks!!! from management to the ladies under her are all very rude and no telling when matinees will come after you have requested them even if it something is serious!!! from the apartments to the people running it was my worst experience ive ever had living in a place and working with such careless individuals that cares zero about there residence… dont let that cheap price full you!!! no good!!! no bueno!!! and i wouldnt of even gave them that one star but they make you pick at leasr one!!!

The residents don’t take pride in their community and the apartment complex themselves don’t clean up the grounds either. The maintenance staff does not respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and we have had major issues with the plumbing the entire time we have lived here. Yes, the rent is cheap, but it isn’t worth it.

The staff is nice enough, but it has been rather difficult to have my maintenance request addressed. My apartment currently has roaches and some kind of biting bugs, a leaking AC unit, black mold in the bathroom, a broken garbage disposal, and a refrigerator that sometimes cuts off for no apparent reason. I waited last week for maintenance only to have them no-​show. I waited again today to again be left waiting. My apartment is barely habitable. I cannot leave food on the kitchen counter for more than a few seconds without bugs crawling into it. further, I am told these bugs would not be here if I didn’t feed my dog on the floor… Where else would I feed him? The rent is great, but it’s not worth the health risk. Find another place.

I just moved in a week ago. On the date of move-​in, I showed up, rent in hand, with a truckload of stuff to drop off. Stupid me for not checking my e-​mail every five minutes. Instead of calling, they sent me an email telling me I couldn’t pick up my key until 5 pm because of repairs being done on the apartment. I couldn’t come back that day because of work, so I gave them permission to give the key to my boyfriend. He gave his phone number, and they were supposed to call when the repairs were done. No such call ever came. The next day, I go to pick up my key, the girl doesn’t even have it; she says she has to wait for someone to open the drop box so she can get it out. Fine. Great. Whatever.
I finally get my key, and start the walk-​through. My kitchen faucet sprayed out a tiny, steady stream of water from the neck that travels at least a foot or so. I turned on the garbage disposal to check it, and it made a horrible sound. I pulled out a bottle cap, some steel wool, a metal twist tie, and other debris, and it still made crazy sounds. I don’t know what else must be in there! Next up… the a/​c drip pan in my bathroom was leaking. From all sides. Dripping all over me and the floor. Not to mention, there is a hole in the ceiling right next to it, at least two inches in diameter, so my a/​c is leaking air out, undoubtedly raising my electric bill. The bathroom sink was also not draining. I also saw ONE live roach my kitchen, which I guess is lucky, considering the other reviews here.
Worst of all, my windows have NO LATCHES on them. The sliding door has no pin lock or safety bar. I have no fire extinguisher. All things that are listed as required in my lease agreement and THE LAW.
When I requested to put a work order, the girl at the desk pulled out A NOTEBOOK, and wrote all these things down, telling me that she would send someone out. It has been a week, and no one has touched a single thing. The a/​c started leaking so bad, I had to vacuum it out myself, releasing a huge clog, and more water, causing me to have to vacuum it out again. My bathroom sink stopped draining at all, so I had to remove the clog myself.
According to my lease and the Attorney General, the best way to get them to step up is to send a certified letter with return service requested. After that, they have a limited amount of time to comply before legal action can be taken. You can go to the Justice of the Peace without a lawyer to request a legal work order. If they do not comply, you can be released from your lease. I advise the person with the water park in their apartment to do just this. It is ILLEGAL for them to leave you to live in that condition.
Anyone else reading this, DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. Honestly, I’d rather go back to living in the Metropolis and take my chances at getting shot than live here. At least their grounds upkeep was decent and you could actually use the pool and laundry facilities. I’ve never seen so much broken glass at an apartment complex in my life. Not to mention the lovely smell of solid waste wafting up to my third floor balcony, presumably from the «construction» that is supposed to be happening to the laundry facility. I also found a used condom while walking my dogs. In the area I gaze upon when chilling out on my balcony. If I can’t get a good view of downtown, at least I can get a free sex show, I guess.

HORRIBLE apartments. DO NOT move in. save yourself the time and money it is going to take to fix what is wrong with your apartment. Terrible management that will not help you. Did not let me walk my apartment before I moved in. First day I was there my apartment was infested with roaches and they still haven’t done anything about it. Roaches everywhere, even in the fridge.
