History
Established in 2013.
Sol Healing and Wellness Center is the result of a 10-year effort by Steve Milan, LCSW, to find and develop a multi-disciplinary healing center. The wellness center property was acquired in 2013, and was renovated over the course of the next 6 months. The Center officially opened for services in April of 2014.
In the initial renovation stages, sound healer Sean Maher suggested the construction of a vibrating floor in the yoga studio that was being developed. That floor, funded in part by an Indiegogo campaign, is a sign of the collaborative and innovative process of the center where all practitioners are committed to learning together about how we might serve clients more deeply.
Shortly thereafter, Judy Kegg, LMT, brought her Watsu Massage pool to the renovation. That pool is now fully integrated into the center. Judy and her fellow Watsu practitioners offer a variety of water-based services and classes. Sol Healing is committed to continuing to evolve services to serve our clients.
Meet the Business Owner
Steve M.
Business Owner
Sol Healing and Wellness Center (SHWC) is the fruit of a 10-year effort to create a multidisciplinary healing center. Steve Milan, the founder, arrived in the wellness industry after spending his early career as a CPA. After earning a Masters degree in Social Work to complement his MBA, Steve developed a clinical social work practice, offering psychotherapy services since 1997.
Steve came to believe that a holistic approach to healing was more effective for clients, so he began searching out other practitioners who were interested in collaborating in a community. He developed a community at 3400 Kerbey Lane in 2006 which served as his «starter community» — a learning experience which informed his development of SHWC. That community remains and serves as a complement to SHWC.
Steve now offers counseling services at SHWC & at 3400 Kerbey Lane as well as supervising newer therapists who offer low cost counseling services at both locations through his company, Sol Community Counseling.
