Dr. Heck and his staff are fantastic. The office visits are easy! I had some major work on my front teeth last year. It was an emergency situation, and Dr. Heck was happy to work me in the same week. The work done is seamless with my natural teeth. Best of all, a year later it’s still holding strong. My wife, a dental hygienist at another office, is a tough critic and she was VERY happy with the work as well. After such a pleasant experience, Dr. Heck became my new dentist for routine cleanings. Dixie always does a superb job. This office is highly recommended!

This was my first visit with Dr. Heck and my experience was stellar. From the moment I walked in to a welcoming a friendly staff, to the extensive care I received from Dr. Heck during my check-​up, I felt welcome and at home. Shout out to Kristin, my hygienist who did an awesome job. Also, the office was easy to get to off south Mopac! Thanks again, Dr. Heck, I’m excited to have a new dentist!

Dr. Heck and his staff deserve more than five stars!!! I am a horrible patient and Dr. Heck has been putting up with me for quite some time (previously at a dental practice near home) They provide exceptional dentistry, but more importantly, they truly care about ME. I have had some struggles with insurance and red tape and none of it was a result of the Smile Creations office. Adrianna made sure the insurance claims were correct and called the company and kept on it and communicated my needs to them. The problems were never easy but finally, Adrianna called me to tell me that Dr. Heck wants to complete the work that was being held up and that He would work with me to pay out of pocket. It is a trip to get there, but the office staff got me right in as soon as I could get there. When I arrived they were there to greet me with SMILES (all of them) I felt like I was going home. They truly cared about me. (Well they also asked when my husband was coming in) I am not good at going to the dentist, but these people really make me want to be there. From office management to the technicians to the hygienists to Dr Heck. Thank you Smile Creations

UPDATE 5.19.16:
Dr. Heck contacted me by phone and email. He also wrote a long letter. I am revising my review based on his continued effort to improve my experience. I do not feel compelled to remove my previous review because it was an honest report of what happened from my perspective. But it’s obvious he cares enough to try and correct things.
In Dr. Heck’s communication he acknowledged that I was overcharged $ 91 for X-​rays and a check was sent to me for reimbursement. He also said he wouldn’t charge me the $ 21 for fluoride, and said that his staff should have asked for my consent before giving it to me, but I am not sure if I’ve been reimbursed for that or not yet (it may be buried in a credit card statement somewhere, I dunno).
As for the assessment, he explained in detail why he recommended everything. I think he was being sincere and making an appropriate diagnosis. My issue wasn’t really with his expertise, it was more about the charges and service.
I did forget to mention in the original review that between the cleaning and his exam I waited just under a half hour. I know because after about 10 minutes I started timing it. At about 20ish minutes of wait time I walked into the hallway and said I needed to leave and I’d have to complete the exam another day. The hygienist notified him and he came in another 5 minutes or so later. I know doctors are busy, but my time is valuable too, and it isn’t the first time I’ve had to wait for doctors. They did get me in on time for the start of my visit, so maybe he had an unforeseen issue and I had to wait. I’m not going to hold that against them, but it’s still a bit of a pet peeve for doctors in general.
Take my review however you will. He might be an excellent dentist and maybe I had a bad experience — or maybe my review helped improve their procedures and customer experience. Or maybe not, I don’t know? I’m still not likely to find out and plan to see another local dentist in the area.

Dr. Heck and his staff are always so friendly and professional! I have never felt pressured to get any services that are not needed. I cannot recommend them enough!

What a wonderful experience for both myself and daughter. Dr Heck is a one of a kind provider, very personalized, care for his patients and conservative in treatment approach. All the staff is friendly and helpful! Will definitely be recommending this provider to many!

My husband and I LOVE Dr. Heck. He really cares about getting the job done right and is concerned with your level of satisfaction. Coming in for the visits feel like visiting a friend rather than a dentist. Great staff as well.

It was my first time meeting Dr. Heck since switching over from Dr. Calvert. Before going in I was nervous, especially since I struggled to find a dentist before Dr. Calvert. However, I am so happy with my experience! Dr. Heck and his whole team are so nice, professional, and accommodating. I am looking forward to my next visit in May!

We saw Dr. Matt Heck at Smiles Creation, and for being a dental appointment. It was great! First we took our 3 year old son, who isn’t the easiest to sit still. Dr. Heck’s staff was so kind and helpful getting our son to cooperate. I think he actually was having fun by the end of it. Definitely recommend for small children!
Then I visited Dr. Heck by myself and had a wonderful experience. I hadn’t been to the dentist in awhile and was dreading the worst. Dr. Heck was so thorough and professional. He explained things to me in a way that was actually understandable. Then proposed a plan of action for my teeth, while considering the expenses and time commitment it would take. I’m thrilled to find an honest, family-​friendly, nice and hard-​working Dentist. Our whole family will be seeing Dr. Heck for as long as he’s in Austin!
