SMILE 360

I just left Smile 360, a dentist’s office, and am beaming, not just because I got my teeth cleaned. Seriously, I love this place. They greet you by name at the door, the hygienist Sarah is the kindest person quite possibly in the world, and there is «television parity” – a TV across from you and on the ceiling, each tuned into the same channel. I do wish I had a bit more time with Dr. Ip, but his staff is so talented it doesn’t seem necessary.

The office staff is great! Dr. Ip always takes his time explaining everything and walking you through the process. Additionally, he is good about giving you treatment options. The wait time is usually really fast. I moved to Houston about a year ago and have not wanted to switch dentists (that’s how good the service is!) So I come in from out of town every couple of months. The staff knows me by name and always makes sure to accommodate me because they know I live far. Would definitely recommend!

I’m going to be real with you guys. I’m a weenie about the dentist. Yes, yes, I know it’s hard to believe it but the first step to recovery is admitting there’s a problem, right?

Now that that’s out of the way. I hate going to the dentist. There’s something about the thought of a stranger digging in my mouth while the sound of drills go bzzzzzz in your ear that springs me into a panic. I admitted my problem to the hygienist and I wish I could remember his name but he eased my fears. He kept me laughing and I almost didn’t even notice that he was grinding gook and other disgustingness off of my teeth.
The Doctor was super professional and gave me a through exam. He even brought the pictures up on the tv and showed me how amazing my teeth were. (I had 0 cavities by the way)
I’ll be coming back every 6 months, even though I’m not a huge fan of the thought of a dentist, I’m a big fan of Smile 360.

Dr. Ip and his staff are great! I am always nervous about dentists and dental work in general, but Dr. Ip and his staff are careful and great about explaining what they are doing. I’ve had a cleaning, and two crowns done here and I can’t recommend them enough. Unfortunately I am moving and I have to find a new dentist, not looking forward

Yep, another 5-​star review.
I’m a cash patient, so that’s really saying something. I thought $ 199 was a bit pricey for a new patient visit and cleaning, but it’s true that ‘you get what you pay for”. Dr. Ip and staff are beyond thorough.
This place is in a little strip right off Lamar, but the actual facility is very modern and pristine. My wait was less than 5 minutes before I was taken to the first room. The dental assistant used a lighted wand (not the technical term) to do an oral cancer screening on me, then a full set of x-​rays of all my teeth, followed by a full set of digital images of all of my teeth.
Then we headed one room over to go through all of the imaging with Dr. Ip. He came up with a suggested plan of action (gave suggestions for an aggressive course of action, or more conservative approach) and made sure all of my questions were answered before leaving me with the hygienist.
I wish I had gotten the hygienist’s name, but she was very responsive. She must have seen me flinch one too many times, and asked if I wanted her to switch to a different cleaning instrument. I nodded my assent and she switched to a different tool immediately.
My teeth were polished to perfection and I was impressed with how thorough the entire experience was, highly recommend this dentist.

This review is only for the dental hygienist/​assistant which is oh so amazing! I believe her name is Deanna? Anyways she did an amazing job cleaning my teeth! I have to say that even after reading the great reviews, I wasn’t 100% confident I would get a good clean (I have been to bad dental offices in the past). However, she took the time to explain the step by step process and thoroughly DEEP cleaned my teeth! It’s not like my teeth are full of black stains or anything by any means, but it was still good to have my teeth cleaned properly for once. So props to the DH! Looking forward to my next visit.

This place was awesome! Sarah did my x rays and cleaning. Staff was very friendly, answered all my questions and concerns. Will definitely be going back for my 6 month cleaning.

Office staff — professional, friendly, patient, and competent. They will work with the insurance and offer you options. The out of pocket estimates have been accurate. No surprises.
Dental Staff — professional, friendly, patient, thorough, and competent. Dr. Ip performs a complete exam and he is willing to answer all your questions and concerns without feeling making you feel rushed. I haven’t had major work performed, yet, but I have confidence in the staff here and I’m planning major dental work this spring with Smile 360.
Fast forward to July 2015 number of visits are about 5 or 6 now.

I went to Smile 360 for a checkup and cleaning and was very happy with the service. I was able to get an appointment within a week of calling and they were very nice over the phone. Upon arrival, I was checked in quickly, and the dental assistant was absolutely fantastic. I actually enjoyed talking to her as I was getting my teeth cleaned, which has never happened before! The dentist was kind and to the point. They were clear about what work would be needed, what timeline I should consider, and the amount it would cost. Would definitely go back.

When I moved to Texas two years ago, I randomly picked a dentist that was covered by my insurance and since I remembered seeing the sign for Smile360, that was who I picked… and I have been beyond pleased with the service and care I have received.
The receptionist always knows who I am without the help of a computer screen; I have never had to wait beyond my scheduled appointment time; the staff are all friendly; and Dr. Ip is knowledgeable and thorough.
Even though I received quality dental care, their customer service is exceptional and is what will make me a patient for as long as I live in Austin. Never in the medical or dental field do I remember getting a follow-​up call or email from any doctor, but I did from Dr. Ip. It was refreshing to have a doctor who cares that much about their patients and really works to resolve any issues.

Great dentist office! Was a new patient and they got me in quickly. High tech facility with TVS everywhere so it makes the dental visit go by much faster. Dr. Ip is intelligent and gave me a thorough first treatment. He never tried to oversell me anything but mentioned different levels of options for the future. Like his style and his office.

I am VERY OCD about my teeth. I love having my teeth cleaned. I was new to Austin a couple of years ago and saw a flyer for this place as decided to check it out.
I’ve had the same dentist my entire life back home so I was nervous trying a new place. My hygienist back home was very delicate and thorough so I was hoping for the same.
Dr. Ip and his entire staff are fantastic. He is very knowledgable and professional. The receptionist is really sweet and friendly.
Megan was my hygienist this past time and I was blown away at what an awesome job she did! She is extremely thorough and also very delicate. They have nice tools so I felt like I was in and out but also had the most perfect cleaning I’ve ever had.
They also have TVs on the ceiling and let you pick whatever you want to watch, so I got to watch the friendly match with Argentina v Germany (Messi FTW).
Can’t wait to go back for my 3^rd visit!

Going to the dentist can be a petrifying experience. I know it is. I avoided the dentist for 14 years before I finally sucked it up because I had too many nightmares about my teeth falling out.
I’ve done 3 visits with Smile360 so far and with every visit, I find myself actually enjoying going to the dentist and looking forward to it. Dr Ip and his team are super awesome. It feels really good when you come in and they welcome you by name. I’ve always arrived early for my appointments and never had to wait 5 minutes to be seen and treated.
The office is really clean and comfortable PLUS, each room is equipped with 2 TVs, one in front, one above, so you can watch your favorite shows to distract you from what’s going on in your mouth.
I absolutely love the team at Smile 360. The hygienist has to be my favorite. She’s super gentle and very aware of how you’re feeling. She knows when to slow it down and give you a break so your gag reflex isn’t going crazy, but even if it does, she’s very understanding and gives you time to recover before proceeding again. Both Dr. Ip and his hygienist are really great at educating you with what’s going on with your teeth/​gums and what needs to be done and they show you how your teeth/​gyms are progressing after each treatment. I love the encouragement I get when they see improvements in my teeth/​gums and make a huge celebration out of it. It definitely makes me want to do better with my oral hygiene.
If you fear the dentist like I did, come to Smile 360. They’ll change your opinion about dental treatments. 4 – 6 months to see the dentist (actually.the whole gang at smile360 really.) seems too long now.

Today was my first visit to the dentist in a long time because, let’s face it, who likes going to the dentist?
This place is great and they made me feel very welcome and they all are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have TV’s facing down on the ceiling so you can watch while laying back getting your teeth cleaned! Are you kidding me?! Why didn’t someone do this sooner?
Dr. lp is very honest and warm and really knows his stuff. He isn’t just trying to get your money, he really wants to help and gives you options.

Dr. Ip and his entire team are the only place to trust your dental health to in Austin. I had a few not-​so-​pleasant-​experiences with my previous dentist and decided to give Smile 360 a try, and WOW is all I can say.
The check in was smooth and all done electronically via ipad, and they got me back within a minute of me filling out new patient information. The office is also tastefully decorated in modern décor and very clean. We started with xrays and also took pictures of each of my teeth. Dr. Ip goes into detail of what he sees with each tooth and if you need improvement, he tells you how to do so. I was blown away by the amount of time and effort the dentist actually spends with you explaining everything on a easy to comprehend level. The hygienist did a fantastic job too quickly getting me in and out of the chair with a clean mouth feeling! Did I mention that you have a flat screen in front of the dental exam chair and on the ceiling for your viewing pleasure? I had a flashback to the 90’s and enjoyed an episode of Married with Children while getting my teeth cleaned :)
Ip and his team get 5 stars and I’ve already referred my friends to Smile 360!

I would like to express my appreciation to Dr. Ip and the wonderful staff at Smile 360.
I have always had a fear of dental work since my childhood and as a result, would put off visits to the dentist. I have also been to some dentists that left me feeling horrible about my teeth. This is not the case with Dr. Ip. In fact, he is the very first dentist who has actually helped my periodontal disease. There has been a marked improvement in my gums and for the first time I actually feel positive about the future of my teeth!
Everyone there has been super kind, courteous and very professional. They put me at ease from the moment I contacted them in need of a crown, which by the way, fit perfectly.

Dr. Ip and his whole staff are awesome! Exactly what you wouldn’t envision a dentist to be– friendly, non-​judgy, easy, and inexpensive.
I found this place on Unilocal– bc it’s close to my house (on South Lamar) — and was super nervous bc dentists are usually the worst.
Thankfully, this is not the case with Smile 360.
The girl at the front desk is friendly and helpful, the office is clean and modern, and the equipment is brand new. Once you get your x-​rays done (the x-​ray tech is also very sweet) you move into a room with not 1 but 2 TVs to watch (one in front of you, and one on the ceiling so you can watch while they work on you). I know this seems small, but there’s nothing like Shark Week to calm your nerves while you’re getting your teeth cleaned.
Dr. Ip is honest and straight forward. He wants to help you in the fastest and most effective way possible, without charging you a ridiculous amount of money.
My first appointment was February (2013) and everyone kept telling me that they wouldn’t give me a cleaning or fillings on my first time. The first time was just the consultation appointment (ie. where they judge you for not going to the dentist in years and tell you to floss), and then they would schedule an additional appointment. NOT HERE! He did the non-​judgemental consultation and told me I needed a cleaning a 2 fillings. AND THEN he said we could do it all right then! I had to leave the room momentarily to sign the waivers with the front desk (bc insurance doesn’t cover everything– but it was still inexpensive) and then I was back in the room with laughing gas and everything! I was in and out of there in about 3 hours feeling happy and relieved (and numb– obviously) that I had found a dentist that made me feel good about scheduling another appointment 6 months later.
One of the best parts was when they said if I «liked them» on Facebook, I could get a professional whitening gel and a custom mouth-​mold for only $ 15!!! It’s been 6 months and I haven’t even used my whole tube of whitening gel! And it works too– way better than Crest Whitestrips. Why do people spend $ 300 on whitening treatment at dentists? I spent $ 15 :)
Yesterday was my 6 month checkup/​cleaning and it was just as great of an experience as the first– better even because I didn’t need a filling.
So if you live in South/​Central Austin, or you don’t mind a short drive for great service, definitely go to Smile 360. When it comes to dentists, they are the best in Austin!

My first experience here was great. They were on time, the front desk girl is awesome, and they are super nice. More than any other dentist (and I have had a lot since I move a lot) Dr. Ip really explained things regarding my teeth… instead of just using scare tactics. I loved how he gave me a few options to choose from when it came to my teeth. It also seemed like he had a lot of new «stuff» like the latest this and that… which I am all about.
Also…I will never go to a dentist without a tv! Love having the tv to watch while I get my teeth cleaned!
Parking was easy too.

Words cannot describe how much I loathe a visit to the dentist
I would sooner get dental work performed by a cross checking hockey player against a rink then willingly partake in mouth rehabilitation.
Luckily my friends at Smile 360 knew this and took every procedure to make sure that I had a grand ol’ time (or the most humanly possible for getting your teeth drilled)
I watched Travel channel and was doped up on laughing gas while I had a small oral operation performed and has literally no discomfort the entire procedure.
I cannot recommend them enough, if you must get your teeth dissected, these are the guys to do it.
