With over 30 years of experience in custom home design, Sky West Builders construct unique and breath-​taking homes throughout the Austin area. We’ve worked alongside local architects to create amazing homes, and we’ve established a reputation for excellent work. Through cutting edge, environmentally friendly techniques, we are proud to offer green building services that meet the Austin Energy Green Building program guidelines. We’re dedicated to meeting the needs and specifications of every client, and complete customer satisfaction is our ultimate goal.

History

Established in 2011.

After running a successful design/​build partnership for 11 years (Marsh Vorspan Partners) Doug Marsh moved on to start SkyWest Builders which focuses on building from all sources of plans and projects including New Houses and Home Additions. Doug can provide plans through a design team process or build from your plans.

We seek to build a quality project by developing a team relationship delivered with a well documented, timely, accountable procedure.

Thirty eight years Construction experience: CAPS — certified aging in place specialist; CR — certified in Project Management., accounting/​budget control, time management and ramrod scheduling, GBP — certification in Green Building; member City of Austin Green Building Program, twenty five years of business in Austin, and the plain desire to deliver as an enjoyable and hopefully somewhat humorous time to the Clients construction experience.

We can build from your plans or ours. We have good relationships with many Architects and designers and relish the teamwork experience of Designer, Client, Builder.

Not sure where to start with my praises for Doug Marsh and SkyWest Builders. He built a custom home for my family in the Westlake area and he did it on time and under budget despite the complexities, setbacks and very demanding clients! He is the most open, honest and hard working builder I have ever met and would recommend him even for the most complex projects. Our experience with Doug Marsh and SkyWest Builders on our home remodel/​expansion in Tarrytown was:
On time. On budget. Highest quality. Most ethical. Beautiful craftsmanship and attention and counsel toward green building. We received countless compliments from our neighbors DURING construction on how hard everyone worked and how polite they all were.
Working with Doug is not working. It’s building a relationship. Nah… it’s a friendship.

My wife and I about a year and a half ago completed a major renovation project with Doug Marsh of Sky West Builders including our kitchen, dining room, den and master bathroom areas. Just to make it even more fun, we stayed in our house during the entire 3 month project!
Working with Doug and his incredible team made the whole project as easy as possible. We finished EARLY and on budget. Doug’s incredible experience and knowledge of construction made our project a success and he was a pleasure to work with. He provided us with opinions and options when we needed them and is incredibly focused on doing things right no matter how small the detail. When you spend your money on your home, you want it to be a great value and a great result. Doug provided us both!”

We recently had an enormous water leak at our house, and needed major repairs. We needed someone who could assess the situation, make sensible recommendations, repair everything to rather exacting standards, and come in at a budget that would be compatible with our insurance claim. Skywest was fantastic on all fronts.
The water damage at our house made some of the decisions a judgment call — how much of the floor to replace, how far up the walls could have been damaged, would the cabinets dry out properly or swell — and we believe that Doug helped us make the right choices. Everything was replaced/​repaired so well that you’d never know we had a flood.
Hopefully the next time we call in Skywest, it’ll be for renovations instead of repairs — but either way, we’ll be in good hands.

This company took down popcorn ceilings throughout our house, painted kitchen and bathroom cabinets, installed some crown molding, did minor repairs, installed an exhaust fan in a bathroom and I could not be happier with their work.
The crew were the hardest workers I’ve ever seen, they were on the job when promised, worked long hours to get the job done in the quickest time frame possible and were clean and polite.
I recommend them as the best you can find to do any remodeling job. Outstanding!
