Shepard of the Hills(south) had a bit of a rocky start in this new home. However after attending their other church for a year, I hoped back on board and saw the new services and I loved them. This location of Shepard of the Hills actually had its worship director named Ted. He is very personable and is in no way afraid to go to you and talk to you about how your day is going thus far. He won’t guilt you into come back or making a choice of attending the church. It’s great, because it feels like he is genuinely interested in you, not you just coming to his church. Plus they have done so much in this new space, including building a huge children’s ministry building and a multipurpose hall, with a beautiful deck. They often have BBQ’s out on the deck and other events. The congregation is pretty diverse, from old to young, but I would say under 50 old, not your normal blue hairs that cover the vastness of the congregation. They too enjoy each other and you instantly feel welcome with them around. One of the only churches I know when they ask others to say to your neighbors do they have to actually break up the discussion to get back to worship. WHAT I REALLYENJOY is they have a pastor, a workshop band(which is pretty good) and a projected service. So you get all the feelings of a real brick and mortar church but you actually get to see a really well done sermon from some very intelligent and lovely people. You get to hear from several amazing pastors that run children’s ministries to adult ministries to even Guatemala ministries. Their lives come across the video so fully and so beautifully you feel like you are a part of such a huge church, but with a small church feel.
