Shelly Hoffman Photography specializes in newborn and children’s photography in Austin, TX and the surrounding area. Her unique style of relationship photography is infused with gorgeous natural light and love. Shelly has a wonderful sense of humor and an easiness about her that puts her clients at ease. She genuinely loves babies and children and endeavors to capture the personalities of all she photographs.

History

Established in 2012.

Shelly began her career in photography first as a photojournalist for her hometown newspaper, but fell in love with newborn photography when she became a parent in 2003. Shelly is self-​taught, and by the time she learned how to really get the newborn photos she wanted, her own babies were in elementary school. To help other parents hold onto those fleeting moments of childhood, Shelly decided to open her own children’s photography business. She knows all too well that the way a child’s eyelashes brush his chubby cheeks changes from day to day and that those once dimpled hands will pull away too soon.

Shelly Hoffman graduated from Smithville High School near Austin, TX. She is a fifth generation school teacher who loves to educate herself and others. She is self-​taught in photography. Her business history includes being Assistant to the Publisher at Texas Monthly magazine. Shelly is married to another «creative.» They live in Austin, TX with their two human children, Olivia and Lincoln, and their furry child, golden retriever Boston. Shelly’s love of photography blossomed at Texas Monthly magazine where she made a nuisance of herself in the art room. Her favorite photographers are Cig Harvey, Meg Bitton, Deb Schwedhelm, Keith Carter, and Barb Uil.
