I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to take my daughter to Sears to get her photo taken. I had images of awkward family photos stuck in my head. But when the Picture People at Barton Creek Mall closed down, I decided to take them up on their offer for no sitting fee, a free 10×13 and $ 25 credit towards my photo purchase. We were already at the mall and dressed up anyway. Why not? We were able to walk in and get her picture taken. The samples in the lobby were much better than what they used to do. Of course it is still a studio, so there are only so many backgrounds to choose from and it looks like most people opt for the plain white background like we did. The little one decided to act like a diva during her photoshoot, so I was worried we wouldn’t have any good shots. We came back an hour later to look at the proofs, and I was very impressed with how many great shots the photographer got of her. They do give you the hard sell on buying a package deal of photos that can run $ 200-$ 300, but I decided to buy some individual sheets of pictures that cost a lot less. And really, do I need 200 photos of my daughter in a tutu? The proofs were available online as soon as I got home and I immediately changed my mind on one of the sheets I ordered. For some reason I couldn’t find a phone number for the studio, only the 1 – 800 corporate number who couldn’t help me change my order, so that was a little frustrating. I just ordered more pics via the website and they arrived in a couple of days.
