In 2000, Owner and CEO, Alan Basta purchased a small precision metal fabrication and a small machining company and merged them into Scientific Machine & Welding, Inc. in Austin, Texas.

Since that time, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction, SMW has grown into one of the most turnkey metal fabrication providers in central Texas.
