SALON by milk + honey | Arboretum Market

I am new to Austin and was a little nervous about finding a new salon. I did quite a bit of research on ones around town and I am so glad I stumbled upon this location! I made an appointment with Adrienne because I read good things about her and I too have curly hair. I made a huge change today, taking off about 6 – 7 in. and I absolutely love what she did! The whole experience was fantastic. I love the small, intimate feel of the salon. They have great products and everyone was really sweet! I absolutely can’t wait to go back and am so happy with this find!

Can’t speak highly enough of Brooke! My last visit was my first with her, and she executed my requests flawlessly. Have to say I’m not the most compliant client and it had been MONTHS and MONTHS since I’d had a cut. She returned my hair back to its healthy, fabulous self, all the while carrying on the nicest and most genuine conversation. I’ve been a M&H client for years now and have yet to be disappointed. Thanks Brooke! You’re AMAZING!

Awesome experience today at Salon by Milk & Honey, Arboretum. Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful scalp massage from the shampoo girl (sorry if that’s not pc, I forgot her name). Excellent color correction, cut and style from Kelli T. My hair feels and looks fantastic!

I have been to milk + honey in both the Arboretum and the Hill Country Galleria and have made last-​minute appointments multiple times, so I’ve been to four different stylists. All four of them were excellent. After my experiences dropping in on stylists who have never done my hair before, I feel confident in saying that you will walk out happy with your hair no matter who you go to! That being said, I can highly recommend Meg and Susana at the Arboretum, and Debbie and Jill at the Hill Country Galleria.

Awesome job today! I had left my previous brow lady at another salon due to lack of professionalism. I loved how she did my brows, but not how she ran her business. I explained this to my esthetician, Caroline and she asked what I was looking for with my brows. She kept them fierce and big and was super friendly and professional. I will for sure recommend this to friends.
Only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to the front desk lady not being super friendly.

Daniel Daniel Daniel!!! He is the absolute best! He is the only person I will ever let touch my hair! He has done my extensions for years. My extensions always come out beautifully with perfect highlights. He does balayage that’s super natural! Highly recommend

Excuse my language, but HOLY F*CKING SH*T. Daniel Ponce at the Arboretum location FREAKING ROCKED my hair. I went in with almost no direction and this guy blew me away. I can’t stop looking at myself and I am the most self conscious being on the planet.
Daniel was the perfect stylist for me. His fingers work magic, his voice is soothing, and he’s got mad skill. If you’re looking for an amazing experience from the moment you sit in the chair to the moment you leave, book with Milk + Honey and ASK FOR DANIEL.

Love my hair stylist Rebekah! She understands how long it takes to grow your hair out and cuts the least amount to look great and actually cares about what you want! It’s hard to find a hair stylist in a new city, but I found her!

Wife and I both go to see Meg and she is amazing! Always does a wonderful job and we have never been disappointed in the least. She is very very personable and the conversation is excellent. The salon has always been understanding about moving appointments due to scheduling conflicts and is never too loud or too busy when we go in. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I did not go to a salon previously, but Meg was very understanding and helpful to get the haircut/​look I wanted. My wife is a «platinum blonde» and Meg works her magic and my wife’s hair has never looked better. We always leave with a smile on our face, so I definitely suggest going to see Meg!

I called to make a same day appointment for a woman’s cut. The staff was promt and courteous.

I got an awesome DevaCurl haircut from Adrienne followed by a beautiful new hair color from Megan!
Very friendly, professional staff; nice atmosphere. A little pricey, but worth the extra cost.

In terms of the Mani/​pedi, I agree with the majority of reviews on here. The girl who did my nails was SO NICE, so nothing against her, but the chairs were uncomfortable and other than the nice tech, the experience itself was seriously lackluster. The massage for mani and pedi were kind of blah, and although the tech did use a cuticle treatment on me, I thought she was going to cut them also because I told her they were dry. She did give me friendly tips though, for my cuticles and making them last. But cutting my own cuticles isn’t something I do for myself, so I was expecting it to be done here. For $ 100+, one would expect and amazing mani pedi and an amazing experience. But my mani pedi and the experience was def not worth $ 100+.
To be honest, I have had $ 13 manicures that were just as good as this one, and I was more in love with that manicure bc of the phenomenal job for the phenomenal price. I haven’t been to other mh locations, but I don’t suggest this location for the mani pedi.
Lastly, I got a call 15 mins prior to my appointment that they were running 15 minutes late… but it ended up being 30 minutes late, total. For a salon that requires you to give your credit card number when you make the reservation, I expect you to be on time.
Now very lastly, the front desk girl seemed okay in terms of friendliness. She didn’t even offer me anything to drink! My nail tech though, so friendly and sweet and she had great customer service. Just over all, seriously overpriced and not worth the money in any capacity.

Krystal is a God-​send. She fixed my hair, chopped off six inches, and made me love it. I’ve NEVER had someone do my bangs the way she did: exactly how I wanted them. I have never been a fan of short hair, but this experience definitely changed my mind. She is amazing!

I got the most amazing haircut today from Kacie. When I came in, I didn’t know what I wanted done, so Kacie helped me decide on something that would flatter my face shape and that would be low-​maintenance. She was so warm and friendly. She gave me THE BEST scalp massage and went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable during my cut. I have had many haircuts in my lifetime, but I felt great about very few of them. The cut I got from Kacie is, by far, the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend her to anyone!

I finally broke down and treated myself to some much needed Mommy time. If anyone who is a hairdresser, understands that we never have the time to actually sit down and BE a client. Today was my day and I am so very happy I went to Milk + Honey. Beautiful and bright salon with killer music playing a very helpful and sweet receptionist who was easy to talk and last but not least, my hairdresser, Lorette.
Super fun personality and is amazing at her job. I totally recommend her!

I’ve gotta upgrade this lovely salon to a 5 star. My sister has always done my hair, and she has set my standard. I’m not very adventurous with my hair, but I’m always willing to pay a pretty penny for a job well done.
Lorette W has been my go-​to girl since for about 9 months, and she is so spot on with her craft. I typically go for the highlight and cut, and Lorette has always had me leaving feeling like a million bucks. Nevermind the tantalizing head massage she gives at the shampoo bowl, she is sweet and outgoing but doesn’t make you feel awkward or tired of talking. She is a gem!
Everything about the salon in my previous salon stands true. Great customer service, awesome products, nice amenities, Oh! And Milk Money ($ 40) once you earn a certain amount of points, which can be redeemed for product or services.
Go see Lorette at Milk and Honey, you will not be disappointed!

Full disclosure: I didn’t get my herr did here, BUT I came with my best friend (so we could go shopping afterward, duh) and saw the whole thing unfold. Lemme just say, this place makes the cut! ;o)
My friend has very curly hair and saw Adrienne’s reviews and decided to make an apportionment there. My friend is extremely cheap, but she decided she would take the risk to splurge on her hair. She walked out thinking Adrienne was way worth the $ 85 (don’t know why it wasn’t $ 75, but whateva)! Adrienne was even giving me tips with my coarse, curly, thick hair. I appreciated that!
In short, Adrienne did a great assessment asking my friend about her curly hair routine, what her lifestyle was like to assess how much times he has, and she entirely reshaped my friend’s style. This was the most confident and stylish I have ever seen my friend, and that is priceless!

Finding a stylist when you move to a new city can be an extremely scary experience! I definitely hit the jack pot when I stumbled upon Adrienne at SALON by milk + honey at the Arboretum Market. I have naturally curly hair and so I googled curly hair stylists in Austin and Adrienne’s named popped up. After looking at the website and reading the reviews I figured I would give it a try.
Adrienne has cut my hair twice and colored it. Every time I leave the salon my hair looks fabulous. Moving from Seattle to Austin’s heat sent my curls into a tailspin! Adrienne was able to listen to my concerns and recommend products and styling techniques to get my curls under control.
The SALON environment is welcoming and the front desk receptionists are very kind and helpful. I also love that there is plenty of free parking! I don’t have experience with Austin prices so I can’t compare but I believe that what I have paid here is worth every penny.
If you are looking for someone to cut your curly hair then I can not recommend Adrienne enough!

I have been to all three SALON locations and I have enjoyed each one more than the previous. The on on 2^nd was ok. I enjoyed me cut but I wasn’t blown away by the stylists. Then I went to the one at the Galleria and I found a stylist there that I definitely liked. Very friendly and accommodating. Laura, I think? But not an expert with curly hair.
I had never been to a stylist that styled my hair curly well enough to not go straight home and wash/​restyle it myself. The cuts at milk + honey have always been great, but it’s very hard to style curly hair really well, especially long curly hair because it takes so long. Most recently, however, I made an appointment with Adrienne at the Arboretum location because she is certified to do a DevaCurl cut. I was told it’s a bit pricier and she’s good with curly hair in general, so instead of the Deva cut, I simply opted to have her cut my hair and style it curly without going through the Deva process. It was the first time that I was just as satisfied with the style as I was with the cut.
She styled it almost exactly how I do it at home, and I left with beautiful, soft, curly but not crunchy or greasy hair. Usually a curly style entails the stylist spraying my hair till it’s stiff or so oily that it’s heavy and wet-​looking. They also usually blow dry the hair instead of diffusing it, and don’t bother to have me flip my head over upside down. Adrienne made none of these mistakes. She also didn’t over-​dry it (which is a problem with most stylists), and I left with my hair a little damp, but beautiful (it’s not good to completely dry curly hair and I’m glad that she works with the hair accordingly).
Couldn’t be happier to have finally found my forever stylist.

If you’ve got haircut trauma like I did, this place is for you.
I walked in about a year ago feeling very lost after a series of bad colors, bad cuts, and then months of neglect. Susanna saved me! She’s absolutely the best I’ve ever had, and she’s a real pleasure to spend 2+ hours with at a time.
The concierges I’ve met have all been stellar as well — friendly, earnest, helpful, and down to earth. Always much better than the snobby receptionists I’ve dealt with at other salons.
