Best pizza is back. I did not know Saconnes had reopened and in the past 3 weeks i have had one per week. By far the best anywhere around. I have frozen the leftovers in bags and then reheated and its just as good as it came fresh. I will always order two from now on and keep my freezer stocked. Only downside is pickup service. It takes a bit longer to get your order. I order online and then pickup and for some reason the cashier is like a deer in the headlights at finding my order, using the register, etc. other than that, this is my go to for pizza.

Forget home slice! Everyone things they know pizza but if you haven’t had pizza in New York from one hole in the wall places you can’t tell the difference. There was a place called 360 that reminded me of it, but recently changed owners and it went downhill. After trying this for the 5 time now it still in my top of real New York/jersey pizza in Austin.

It’s been awhile since we ate here. But the pizza is still great. This might be my favorite NY style pizza. It’s really really good. The crust is thin, chewy yet crisp on the bottom and cooked to perfection. We got the signature sauce it’s super flavorful and robust. It really makes the pizza. The cheese is great and the pepperoni was super yummy. My mouth is watering just thinking and talking about it. We also got the chicken wings in hot sauce. These were surprisingly delicious. They were cook great and the sauce was hot, not too hot but tangy and delicious. The wings came with ranch and celery no extra charge either. Can’t wait to go back for another pie. Yummmmmy

I really like this pizza, it’s my favorite NY/NJ style thin crust pie. I’ve tried it 3 times, always pepperoni with their signature sauce, and it’s remained consistently great. The bottom crust is cooked well, but still able to be folded and eaten like a true NY slice. The crust edgrs are crisp and delicious. I don’t leave anything behind when I eat this pizza. Get the signature sauce rather than the more sedate original sauce, and your taste buds will thank you. We also tried the buffalo wings and they were spot on. The buffalo style hot sauce was great and the wings were cooked perfectly. They are more reasonably priced than other places too. Highly recommend the place if you enjoy good thin crust pizza. They also have a delivery service if you are nearby. I’d rather go in and eat it right out of the oven. Mmmmm

Great pizza, being from NJ this is the closest to NJ/NY pizza I have found in Austin. Don’t do delivery though, we are going on hour 3 of waiting. I understand it is NYE and they are probably busy, but we asked when we called how long it would be because we didn’t want to wait 3 hours. We were told it would be 1hr 40mins, not the case. We also called at the 2 hr mark and were told they are«on the way»…still waiting.

Awesome pizza! Saccones special sauce — amazing! I’d give better than 5 stars if possible…

I don’t know what happened to these guys. They use to rock. Use to. Maybe you just can’t throw a curveball at them by ordering something besides a standard cheese pie. Pepperoni was ok, but their Margarita Pizza was terrible. Sauce tasted like Ragu, the pizza was wet and under cooked and I guess they were saving the basil and garlic for other things… Won’t go back. Too many great pizza joints in Austin now to waste money on a «has been».

Pizza or wings? Couldn’t decide, so I got both! Amazing! Saccones is still one of my Austin Favorites(PS save room for the cannoli!)

Growing up in Brooklyn, I consider myself a pizza aficionado. This isn’t as good as Brooklyn pizza, but it’s the closest you’ll get in Austin. And the cannoli are pretty delicious, too.

Saccones is a good place for a slice or two if feeling brave. The guys churning out the food do well to keep up. I was there after noon and folks were trickling in. I washed my hands after placing my order and even that was pretty clean. The staff does well at keeping the dining area on par too. I luv all the tv’s you can watch. I got pep, basil and sausage as well as meatball, sweet peppers and pepperoni. The slices were huge and I will né skipping dinner as a result. I love the flavor of the peppers and appreciate no acid reflux after having eaten here now twice. If not can manage to pull away from the slices next time I will try a calzone or sandwich. The place has a good product and thus far seems consistent. Give them a chance and you won’t be disappointed.

Great pizza! Love their signature sauce! Friendly, fast service, too! We eat here often, and enjoy watching sports while we’re here! Saccone’s is a family-friendly place!

Saccones would get a better rating if it was just about the pizza. The deliver leaves something to be desired and management seems a little unconcerned. Asked the driver for cheese and peppers, which he didn’t have.(There are two kinds of pizza drivers, ones that have cheese and peppers — and those who don’t get tipped) I delivered pizza in college, the first rule of delivery is to have condiments if the customer asks. The second rule of delivery is to have change. The pizza was $ 20.50 and I gave the driver $ 25. He didn’t have change. He had to go into his wallet for three singles. Not gonna cut it. So I called and told the manager that the driver didn’t have change. He told me that he didn’t normally send the driver out with any change. Seriously? Wtf? That is some weak sauce there. Why in Gods name would you not send a driver out with change? Epic fail.

We ordered a side salad, meatball parmigiana sub, and a 18″ pepperoni, sausage, and hamburger pizza. All was super delicious! The food came out in a timely manner and customer service was excellent. The restaurant is a typically hole in the wall pizza joint, so, super casual! The price is slightly more than your chain pizza places but well worth is. We paid $ 33 for our meal.

YEAH! It is an absolute crime that Saccone’s doesn’t get the recognition within Austin that Home Slice does. It is in my opinion far better! The location probably has something to do with it, this isn’t the kind of place you’ll wander around shops and stop in to get a slice like you would on South Congress. Delivery always arrives when quoted, it’s super thin and greasy(in a very good way!) and their signature sauce(extra sweet and basil-flavored) is a must try. Some of the best pizza rolls in town too! If you’re a pizza lover and have never had Saccone’s, you must remedy that situation immediately.

So I recently went back to Saccone’s for a second try… It’s so close to my house I really wanted this place to be amazing and our go to pizza joint. This time we ordered a plain pepperoni pizza — Keep it simple stupid. It had a pretty good flavor but again the crust was soggy(and we even asked for it be cooked extra well). I still don’t know if it’s from the pizza sauce, baking time/temperature or toppings but I wish they would fix it.

I came here last Saturday just to see if anything had improved since my last review. I’m glad to say my experience was much better. I was served by the owner and the Customer service was much better. I was introduce to the signature sauced pizza which was delicious and worth the suggested 10 minute wait. I ended up doubling my carry out order. This local pizza shop has great tasting pizza with great service it’s definitely a must eat at type of spot

Gahhhhhh y’all the pizza out here is DELICIOUS. It’s worth the substantial trek out to west Austin, and if you live out there, I’ve heardtell this place delivers. Delicious and I asked for half pepperoni, half anchovy pie with their signature sauce, which is a bit sweeter than your average sauce, and it was FANTASTIC. This was probably the best anchovy pie I’ve had all of 2014, and I lived in NYC this summer. If you’re in the area, you owe yourself to check this pizzeria out.

Don’tcha hate it when your favorite TV show jumps the shark? «Laverne & Shirley» jumped the shark when they moved to California. «Cheers» jumped the shark when Diane and half the writers left. And«Happy Days» jumped the shark when, well, Fonzie jumped the shark. Restaurants can jump the shark, too, and Saccone’s jumped it several months ago like Evel fucking Knievel. I never know if I’ll get exactly what I ordered, or if it’ll be of the good quality it was a few years ago. Maybe they’ll forget to add the hamburger to my pizza, or they’ll randomly decide to add onions that I clearly did not order. None of this shit was ever a problem before this year. Today I ordered four slices, added hamburger, extra cheese, olive oil and oregano. My order was a half hour late. Dude says his delivery driver quit on him. Fine, I get it, but this is not a valid excuse for delivering me COLD pizza. Oh, and don’t think I can’t tell that you charged me a buck for extra cheese but barely gave me any. Assholes! The pizza I ordered from you guys last week was phenomenal, so I held out hope that maybe you guys were rowing away from the shark. But no, you just proved your crappy inconsistency. Never again. I’ll make the fucking drive to Home Slice henceforth. You may as well add regret to your toppings list, Saccone’s, because that’s exactly what this shit tastes like. Keep jumping that shark. I hope it bites you in the ass.

This used to be my go to place when I was craving pizza. Anyone who reads my reviews knows I’m not impressed with any of the pizza in Austin. Sad, but true. However, when compared with other Austin pizza places, Saccone’s is a bit above average, but still not deserving of that elusive 4th pizza star from the pizza snob. If any pizza place ever earns a 5th star in Austin, I will eat there every night. Seriously… they’ll have to call the cops to get me to leave. This is NJ style pizza. To me, it lacks some kick. The last time I ate there I was very disappointed. Usually, the pizza is pretty decent(again — for Austin). Lately, it’s been dull — dangerously close to other mediocre pizza in town. I still think it’s better than most. But seriously, don’t listen to me when it comes to pizza. If I think it’s average, most will LOVE it. I’m just spoiled(and ruined for life) by the fabulous pizza options where I grew up. Nothing here even comes close. :’(
