Ryli Blue Salon

I went here for the first time yesterday and it was very pleasant. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and everyone is so kind and happy. Everything is clean and professional and I walked out with a fantastic new hairdo!
Julie has been cutting my hair for a couple of years now and I absolutely LOVE her! She recently moved to this location and I’m so glad I followed her! I cannot recommend this place or Julie enough!

Went in to see Jada today for a cut and highlights. I’d been unhappy with my hair (it was brassy and orange!) since my last two rounds of highlights at another salon so I figured it was time for something new. Jada is VERY knowledgeable about hair and the coloring process and gave me a great explanation as to what was going on with my hair. She really listened to what my concerns were and what I wanted the end result to be. She then recommended I consider balayage instead of highlights to achieve the look I wanted. So, I went for it and I couldn’t be happier with how my hair looks! Very pretty blond and much more natural looking than what I had received at other salons. THANK YOU JADA!!! I will be back!

I really cannot say enough good things about this salon! It is beautifully design, I am always warmly greeted with hot coffee and a smile, and so much fantastic work walks out the door! I have been coming to Aston for a few months now and she has healthily taken me from my natural dark brown to my dream red! I have attached some pictures to check out!!! So excited to show off the new color this summer!

Kristen colored my hair for me today. I decided I didn’t like the highlights I had in from another stylist elsewhere and she agreed that they were too yellow. So we decided to go darker to a deep auburn. I love the results! I feel like «me» again! Hurray!
Kristen is very knowledgable about hair and color, which made me feel confident that she knows what she’s doing. She also waxed my brows for me and they look great.
I only have two complaints about the salon. First, pushing products way too hard. I get it, you like the products and you’d like for me to use them. Understood. However, when I was checking out, I discovered that the one bottle of shampoo and one bottle of conditioner were $ 36 EACH! Wha?! Sorry, no can do. I can’t afford to spend $ 72 on shampoo and conditioner no matter how great they are. I feel like the salon management must be telling the stylists to push the products hard because they make a ton of money on them.
Second, at checkout with a credit card, the screen pops up automatic tip options. It lists 20% as a «good» aka, average, tip. To me, 20% is a really good tip. Then it goes on. 25% is «great» and 30% is «Wow.» To me, that suggestion is ridiculous and made me mad, esp after the shock of the product price. Do you not pay your staff enough that you have to suggest that 30% is a normal tip? It didn’t even offer 15% as an option. I can do my own math and add my own tip, thank you very much.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely be back to see Kristen because I’m very happy with my hair. But, I am not happy with the salon’s «hard sell» on overpriced products and tipping.

First off, I have been going to Amy for 3 years now. I do not let anyone else touch my hair. Amy listens to what I want and helps me find something that will make me look my best. Everytime I go into the salon she sits down with me and we discuss what I am enjoying and what I want to change. She has so many great ideas and I love her color and cut work. I am a blonde at heart and it is very difficult to do, but I can trust Amy every time. Her work is truly the best.
I got married October 2015 during one of Austin’s recent floods and Amy was there to do my wedding day hair. We got started around 9:00am and it was still perfect at 10:00pm that night. (Even with all of the wind and rain.)
Now the salon just received a major facelift. Everything from the couches in the waiting area to the beautiful bathroom. Everything has been updated and it is breathtakingly beautiful. The new owners have done a lot to update and bring this salon to the hip Austin style, but they have kept the hospitality.

I’ve never successfully found a hair stylist I’ve loved, or one that I’ve continued to go to throughout my life. My whole family goes to Kristen so I thought I’d try her out-​best decision I’ve ever made! I’ve been seeing her for almost 2 years now and every time, she’s knocked it out of the park. I usually just tell her a general idea of what I’m looking for, and she gets to decide what we do. She knocks it out of the ball park every time! We’ve gone lighter, dark, done ombré, cut my hair short – you name it, we’ve done it.
The salon is also adorable. They recently went under new ownership and the redesign of the space looks great and trendy. They also sell fantastic products I use regularly.

Went to Ryli Blue for the first time last week, I was desperate for a color intervention. Kristen was a confident and took charge of the situation. She’s a straight shooter, and I like that, especially when we’re messing with my ‘natural’ blonde. Her color was dead-​on, and I really like the layered cut, too! It has been a long time since I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair. I think I’ve found my new go-​to stylist. Pssssst: you can book online via Unilocal.Awesome feature!

I have been getting my hair colored/​cut/​styled by Robin for several years now and will never go to anyone else in town! In the past I’ve been to several stylists who, when they see my long hair, really want to cut it. Robin has always listened to what I’ve wanted done (or not wanted!), and when I’m searching for ideas, will show me things she think will look good with my hair length/​color/​texture, and be honest with me if an idea I come up with won’t look how I want it, which is something other stylists haven’t always done. I have been going blonde for a few years now and she always makes it look natural, which is a skill not all stylists have. I look forward to my hair appointments so much and always leave her chair feeling like a better version of myself!

I LOVED my experience at Ryli Blu where my favorite hairstylist Robin is located now. When you find a great stylist-​you will drive north any day to see her. She knew exactly what to do when I asked for something new and cool. She is a hair magician!

Robin is great! If you either:
a. know exactly what you want, have a picture in your mind (or an actual photograph) or
b. have no idea what you’re feeling that day and say «have at it, I trust you»
… she is your girl, either way! I’ve done both of these things as I switch hairstyles fairly often and I always leave feeling fabulous and 100x prettier than I felt walking in. Her cuts are also sustainable (look great even after you go home and style yourself) and they grow out beautifully. Highly recommend!

Love this place!!! I come in to see Kristen and I am never disappointed. Not only is she sweet and easy to talk to, she is amazing at her craft and extremely knowledgeable about the products she uses and recommends. She has transformed my hair!

Popped into Ryli Blue because it was the closest salon and I wanted to treat my guy friend to a nice hair cut. We ended up being helped by Kristen.
She was incredible. After chatting with her for awhile and watching her turn my friend’s crazy multi colored locks into a trim, professional look, I couldn’t help myself. I asked if she had time to squeeze me in at well.
I’ve never had a more perfect hair cut, and I came back in a few weeks later to have her color my hair for the first time in my life. The outcome was simply incredible.
I’ve found MY hair stylist in Austin, and I recommend her to EVERYONE I talk to.

Love the staff, the inside is so pretty and nicely decorated, product choices are on point and they did an amazing job on my blow out. Definitely recommend.

So I usually go to Kristen at Ryli salon but my friend bought me a gift card for her lady as my wedding present. So the lady completely messed my hair up making it orange and green! So I came here to see Kristen and she was amazing!!! She got me to exactly where I wanted to be for my wedding that is in a Month! I was beyond freaking out and in tears when I left the other salon. Every time I leave Ryli I am so excited because my hair always looks amazing!!! Thank you Kristen Breitbarth!!! I will NEVER go anywhere else again! :) sooooo happy with this salon!!!

It took years before I found someone who could do my hair the way I liked it. I finally found Kristen. She is an absolute perfectionist. My search is over!

Lauren at Ryli Blue GETS IT. I followed her from her last salon– totally worth the move. She is AWESOME with color. I’m at the point now where I just walk in and say «go for it» and she nails it every time! Balyage especially– I’m an addict now thanks to her! Do yourself a favor and go see Lauren.

YES! Romy hooks up my hair EVERY TIME! She knows her blondes! I walk in there looking like a hot mess and walk out feeling like a million bucks! THANK YOU ROMY!

Amy and Autumn at Ryli Blue are the best. Amy is a Swiss Army knife, able to magnificently handle any need. Autumn is my stylist and is the best I have ever had. Her attention to detail is impeccable, performing any men’s cut to perfection. She can work miracles with a beard as well, for those of you in the beard club. My favorite, of Autumn’s many fantastic attributes, is that she is a kind soul, raw and authentic. She is amazing with my 9 year old son who loves to push the limits on a casual trendy style. They will carry on a conversation the whole time she creates her masterpiece, with him leaving full of smiles and satisfaction every time. If I could sum up Autumn’s personality, professionalism and abilities in one word = epic.
