Geeze, what is not to love about delicious, quality craft beers (and beermosas, say whaaat?!) an amazing brunch selection (including a buffet option; the Benedict is amazing), accommodating staff… and it’s doggie friendly?
Love this place!

Well, this is a hidden gem that serves some of the best beer in Texas! Bring your dog, bring your kids, bring your thirst. No pretension or airs here, dig in, Cheers.

Like many small breweries, it’s not much to look at until you get inside. I made my way in on a Friday game night and was not disappointed. Close to the taps there were tables and clean restrooms. After passing through the back door you’re greeted with plenty of space to sit and relax. This area is dog friendly with a great grassy yard for the runners. There was a pita-​sandwich vendor on site with some amazing bacon wraps. Most importantly the beer was solid. The offerings vary and change weekly so it’s worth stopping by often. I didn’t see an upset customer in the place and I personally enjoyed drinking the Rook Scotch Ale. It was smooth, great finish, and plenty of malt. Come to think of it, everyone I met was friendly, talkative, whether they were local or visiting from London (good company those lads). Anyways, hats off to this place, it’s definitely worth the trip.

I simply love this place! It’s very low key and family/​dog oriented! The beers are awesome! This is the one that popped my craft beer cherry and I can not drink the bottled crap that bud/​coors/​whatever makes now.
When I first drove by, I was actually scared… It’s in the middle of warehouses and there really isn’t a big ass marquis sign that states ROGNESS! It is on the door. but don’t get scared because once you get in the doors, the bartenders are awesome and will answer any questions you want.
It was so odd to me to be able to bring food to an establishment, but if you can if you want! On days that they are having events (Boxers and Brews, Roller Derby Girls, etc) They do their best to bring in food trucks which is a BIG PLUS! Now I love Garbos and Frydeez!
Pets are encouraged to come! They have a spacious outdoor area and plenty of water for the fur babies!
I adore the Yogi beer! But they have a lot of awesome ones for the other people:)
Rogness rocks if you enjoy beer and are looking for a low key place to hang out and just enjoy the afternoon!
They are only open on Thursday/​Fridays and if you get on their facebook, they open up on the weekend for special events. I wish they were open more on the weekends because that’s my free time but that’s fine. Still love it!

We love going to Rogness Brewery on a Thursday night with our boxer girl. Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. I’ve had quite a few of the beers and haven’t been let down. Yogi might be my favorite!

Rogness Brewery was what I like to call a undesirable pleasantry. Like my oximoron suggests, this beer stop was at first unappealing, and frankly hard to identify. Rolling up to the front there was a tiny sign on the front door with Arial size 24 font welcoming brew patrons. Take one step in the door and you enter a tiny room no bigger than your run of the mill donut shop. BUT… take two steps out the back door and you’ve got 7 picnic tables that provides a bodacious view of the brewery’s inner workings. Take another step out there back door and your find a small grass area with 3 more tables.
The staff at the bar were very pleasant and knew a lot about what they were pouring. Nothing I can’t stand more is a absent minded bartender. While the list of on tap items was shockingly small, what Rogness brought to the table, or should I say bar, was some of the most robust, complex, an well brewed sensations I have tasted yet.
The Nasty Favorite (s): Vanilla Porter, and the Joie d’ Ete

Let me qualify this review by first saying that I am a beer snob. If it isn’t good, I’ll know and tell you. I brew on my own and I am quite picky about beer.
That being said, this place was outstanding.
I had three of their different brews and enjoyed them a lot. The atmosphere is fun since it is in their brewery and very informal. This is the sort of place you bring your friends when you don’t want anyone to worry about being to loud as you talk. There’s generally a smallish crowd it seems since it is a small affair, which is welcome in my opinion.
The whole experience was as close as you get to what the old beers gardens must have been.
To avoid being long winded, if you like good, creative brews and a casual place to enjoy them, get out here!

Rogness is one of the really outstanding breweries in the greater Austin area. My girlfriend and I have been to several trivia nights, and we always have a good time. Honestly, if it were a little closer to where we live in central Austin, we’d probably spend all our money there.
If you’re looking for a unique beer, you should try the Yogi (an amber spiced with chai.) There is just nothing else like it out there.
Gigantophis and Boomslang are my favorites on the hoppier side of things. I would easily say that they’re on the same level as Stone Brewery’s beers (which are known for their hops) and probably better. It’s only a matter of time before Rogness is a regular contender at all of the prestigious beer awards, mark my words.

Came for the trivia night yesterday and had a decent time. When you walk in, the room where the taps are and beer is served is pretty small and feels like a tiny classroom with no windows or ambiance, and not much like a spot you’d want to sit and enjoy a beer. It definitely feels like the suburbs, and not a city brewery, between the location, ambiance of the tasting room, older age of the patrons, and the bartending employees talking to their children behind the bar about finishing their homework, as you wait to be served. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it made you really feel like you’re in Pflugerville, rather than Austin.
The employees greeted us very warmly and offered us samples as I asked about the beers and how service worked. We tried about 4 beers before ordering, and the prices were reasonable at $ 4 a beer. As far as craft beer is concerned, Rogness is very middle of the road I thought. Nothing stood out at all as a fantastic beer, but the OST porter was definitely the best of the 5 – 6 I tried. The titanaboa was a «triple IPA» and was reasonable, but not one of the better imperial IPAs out there. The Vinton blonde was too yeast driven for my liking and a bit unbalanced leaning to malty. The tenebrous with rasberries was pretty tasty, and probably my second favorite. The raspberry flavor intensified as it warmed, and became a bit too strong, but it was still enjoyable. The samples of the saison and the yogi chai amber were ok, but had more of a homebrew feel to me than a polished, great beer.
The trivia night was run pretty well, and there were just enough seats for the attendees. It ran pretty much spot on as far as time went from 7 – 9 and there was a nice variety of questions, and even bonus questions between rounds good for a free beer, of which I won one, which was cool.
Overall, I think it’s worth a visit, but I can’t say it’s one of my favorite breweries as far as quality of beers go, but everybody’s tastes are different and they do have a nice variety of styles so there is probably something for you here.

Now I’m not a connoisseur of beer. I’m not a foodie, but I know what I like! I went to this brewery for the first time last night. They hold a monthly trivia night and we (My husband and friends) thought it would be a fun date night. The owners Diane and her husband Forrest are so nice and are happy to suggest tastes of their different beers. I’ve tried Bella (My favorite) Beardy Guard and Gigantophis. All three were fantastic, easy to drink. Their prices are also fantastic! 5 beers with a tip and it was a bit over $ 20. We spend more than that at local bars. My husband and I went to a lot bar after we left Rogness Brewery and drank a Shiner and both my husband and I were so sad. Shiner tastes terrible compared to Rogness beers. I am now going to stock up on Rogness beer and make their brewery my new stop. Thank you Diane for creating the best beers out there!

There is no better way to enjoy a beer than sitting in the brewery from whence it came amongst the steel tanks and brewing gadgets. Even in a humble warehouse, a feeling of magic permeates the air. Unfortunately, draconian and idiotic Texas laws have hamstrung local breweries. Most breweries are purely utilitarian with locations better suited for inexpensive manufacturing and distribution, versus serving crowds of customers. Rogness is no exception.
The brewery site is about as basic as it gets. Rogness is built to craft beer and not to impress foodies, and it shows. As for the beer, it is pretty solid. I don’t think there are any world-​beaters in the lineup quite yet, but the quality and potential is clearly there. The Belfort (Belgian) and the Gigantophis (IPA) I had were awesome, but not quite world class.
I visited the brewery and taproom during one of the monthly trivia nights, and it was enjoyable. The contest was well-​run and worth a night out. The freshly-​crafted beers juiced the fun factor, even as our cognitive abilities began to plummet.
On the negative side, the trip out to east Pflugerville can be a bit of a trek, and it ain’t exactly scenic. Things were a little rocky in the taproom with kegs and bottles running dry at inopportune times, due to much of the staff being away at the Great American Beer Fest. Finally, with a smokers table set just on the other side of an open rolling garage door, the interior of the brewery was unpleasantly tinged with cigarette smoke.
Overall, I like what’s going on at Rogness, and, for those already up north, it’s a solid visit.

I love just about everything here. From their beer (high ABV!) to the cool game nights and events they have out at the warehouse. Forrest and his crew love what they do and it shows. There’s fun artwork on the walls in the brewery, their branding is so spot on and they’ve got these big picnic tables.
Lots of people go to Independence on Saturdays and that’s fun… but why not skip the crowd and come hang out with these dudes? They’ve usually got about six beers on tap and they’re constantly changing out their brews and innovating.
Grab your jenga set or Cards against Humanity and enjoy an evening with people who really care about craft beer. You find them on taps all over town too… and in a collaboration with Amy’s Ice Cream right now.

I was here for their first anniversary and had a good time. They had BBQ (can’t remember the vendors name), that was OK and a food truck that I wish I had tried instead. The Rogness staff was very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The event was well organized so that the lines weren’t a chore to wait in, they had several different sampling stations spread throughout the grounds.
Rook: A good beer, slightly sweet, malty beer, with very mild hop flavor. Dark brown in color with a reddish hue.
Tenebrous with raspberry: The raspberry is very dominant in this, making it a rather sweet beer. The Berry had the additional effect of REALLY bringing out the chocolate in the finish to this beer.
Yogi: I was really interested in this one since I love chi tea and this is made with chi spices. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me, I could enjoy about half a pint but beyond that I’d just be looking forward to my next beer.
Tenebrous: This was my favorite. Although the chocolate wasn’t very prominent, it was a tasty double chocolate stout with an emphasis on stout rather than chocolate.

Had a fun time at their one year anniversary party yesterday which had an 8-​bit video game theme going. Lots of great beers to try here and really friendly employees. One of the best brewery’s to try in Austin if not THE best, no doubt. Def worth checking out!

Tried Rogness Brewery out yesterday, we live about 10 minutes away and it was a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Paid 10 bucks, got a souvenir glass and 6 half pint samples. All the employees, including the owner Diana, were very nice and personable. Place is laid back, they have picnic tables both inside the brewery and outside where you can just chill with friends. I’m not a huge fan of hoppy or dark beers, but my husband is and he said the beer was different, but good. I prefer more wheat/​hefeweizen/​blond types, so maybe Rogness will give those a try soon!

Rogness is a small craft brewery that seems passionate about beer. They recently opened up their brewery for tours on Saturdays 11−3PM. $ 12 gets you a free Rogness pint glass and six generous half pint samples. Last Saturday, they also had free brats and snacks to enjoy. There were six beers on tap for sampling as well as two specialty bottled beers. The beers were all very different, each complex and with a unique character. Rogness caters to all types of craft beer drinker, from the Gigantophis Imperial IPA to the Yogi spiced amber. The OST tasted just like a good iced coffee with a little something, something. My favorite of the taps was the RogOctoberfest and the Red Rog, an mild IPA.
Dave, one of the brewers, gave us a very informative tour of the craft brewing process. He is passionate and clearly takes pride in this work. You can definitely taste the difference.
Everyone at the brewery was friendly and they made an effort to make the brewery family friendly. There are lots of picnic tables, both inside and outside. In the beer garden, there are a few games to entertain yourself with.
Craft beers are becoming very popular in Austin and Rogness is a great addition. They are in a lot of local bars, ask for one. You won’t be disappointed.

While attending a Unilocal Elite event, we discovered Rogness Brewery.
What peaked our interest was its location in Pflugerville. Since we lived there, we decided to visit them on a Saturday they set aside in Oct for RogToberWeen Fest.
For a small fee ($ 13 pp) we indulged in tastings of ½ pints of their delicious brew, Some freshly grilled Brats, and snacks.
Forrest and Diana, the owners are very sweet and welcomed people that day to enjoy the great Beer they are making in small batches. We particularly liked the Chai spiced Beer, and the Amber as well. The Scotch Ale was delicious, and the Rost was a success. I wish I could remember more names of beers I tried that day, but Alas… no such luck.

Grand opening was so fun. We didn’t buy tickets ahead of time because it was a last minute decision to go just a mere hour before the second round started. Luckily the drive to Pville wasn’t too bad. When we hopped in line we started to worry that our decision not to bring cash would mean we wasted a tank of gas, but fortunately they had a Square to take plastic.
Hubby and I each only made it through three half pours (we could get six) before we were sweating profusely and ready to seek air conditioning. The beers were so delicious and the people serving the beers were nice.
I love the über-​cool pint glasses we received and the printed menus and stickers were a nice touch. I think the chai amber was my favorite.
Can’t wait to look for this beer when I’m out and about in Austin!
