Red River Restorations

Red River Restoration has done right by us. We had John and the crew out to renovate all of the windows in our 1950s built Crestview home four years ago. Our biggest concerns weree stuck windows, broken panes, and failing glazing on multiple panels within our 18 panel windows. All of which were addressed in less than a week’s time.
We had a few outstanding issues that were not mission critical that we left fall by the wayside. Fast forward 3 years and John proactively reached out to us noting that his records showed some outstanding issues that we couldn’t quite get schedules aligned on at the time of the original work.
John had his crew come back out this January to address the few open items and even discovered a few issues that hadn’t made our initial list. Without hesitation the crew did additional work above what was called for and left us with even better looking and functioning windows.
If you are looking to restore and enjoy the charm of your older home, John is definitely on the short list of folks to go to for all things glass and woodworking.

When I lived at 3707 Red River in the early 90’s it was in the hands of a landlord known for her cheap but poorly kept rentals. I used to dream of what I’d do if I could restore the 1929 garage apt with cute hallway phone nook, original glass door knobs, fold out ironing board and tiny vintage bath tile. I have driven by and seen the transformation over the years and just based on that I must give this RRR stars because he made my dream come true. He has preserved a piece of Austin’s past and that is so awesome!
His attention to detail cannot be ignored. The structure looks beautiful and solid! When I lived there anyone walking up the stairs would make the entire structure sway, I swore the place was kept from falling only because it was held up with the hundreds of mattresses and junk left in the garage by decades of tenants. Looking at this place today… RRR has erased all traces of 3707’s life as an abused rental. I plan on calling on him for my upcoming project.

I own a 1928 home in Hyde Park that I have been renovating since ⁷⁄₀₅. As you can imagine, my experiences with contractors runs the gamut of excrutiating to exhilerating. RRR definitely falls into the latter category.
I originally met John when we were neighbors on E 38^th St. I was renting, and he was renovating his own home across the street. His attention to detail on that project really caught my attention. He also conveyed a genuine interest in historic homes by divulging to me some interesting facts about the house that I occupied. I thought that was really fascinating and indicative of his passion for ALL homes– not just his own or the ones that he is hired to care about.
As a fellow homeowner, I appreciate Red River Restoration’s value, reliability and quality. As a fellow business owner, I relate to John’s approach. He has a passion and genuinely cares for the customer’s entire experience.
