Dr. Sierk is great. She is well trained, efficient and patient. She is also incredibly knowledgeable. There are reviewers on here who gave her low her reviews because she is not«warm». I think what they were looking for is a friend. Dr. Sierk is a wonderful psychiatrist. If you need intensive therapy or an outlet, you probably need a psychiatrist AND a therapist AND a support system. Maybe their experience with Dr. Sierk differed from mine, but I have had no troubles with her at all. I really enjoy my visits with her. I will admit the staff is scattered. When I am there in person, they are fine and pleasant. However, I always have to leave a voicemail when I call, which is frustrating for making or changing appointment times.

No people skills. Inept at dealing with conflict. After getting frustrated at one of my visits she terminated me as a patient through the mail. A phone call would have been nice. Her clinical skills are excellent but if you are looking for someone with a little warmth and compassion seek help elsewhere is my personal recommendation.

I left this office in tears feeling like my disease had just had me labeled and criticized. Dr. Sierk is cold and has no empathy for her patients. I was having a bad day with her receptionist who is my far the worst at what she does and also lacks empathy or compassion for the mentally ill. I began to hyperventilate as I waited to see the Dr. and once she came out she refused to see be but for 2 minutes to discuss the fact that I was out of ALL medication but all she did was make me look like my disease! Crazy, unstable, mean, manic and depressive. My mother even asked if the Dr. could take my blood pressure because I was so dizzy from everything going on, and the Dr., the one with the DEGREE! WHOISTRAINEDINHOWTOHANDLEPATIENTSWITHTHESETYPESOFILLNESSES, ROLLEDHEREYESATMYMOTHER as though she didn’t have time to check my pressure. She then said«I guess» after I told her she was supposed to be my doctor and care about my health! In no way should this woman even have a license, and her staff the black receptionist was nothing but rude, un-empathetic, emotionless and even laughed at me over the phone when I was opening up to her about why I needed to see the Dr. so bad. Laughed at me!

Dr. Sierk is what all doctors should aspire to be like. She is knowledgeable but speaks in a way I can understand, she is very forthcoming but compassionate in her delivery and most of all she treats the whole person and does not deliver treatment like a robot… we’ve all had those. She is ethical and of high morals but went outside the box(smashed it and then walked all over it actually) so she could find what would work best to improve my situation. As for the review below with one star where she said the staff was a waste of time… The best medical office admin that ever existed left early 2015. She left some really big shoes to fill and Dr Sierk and her billing team have been trying to keep things going while getting a new person in there. Please don’t let this bring down your opinion of the services that Dr Sierk can provide for you.

Serious waste of time and staff is inconsiderate and scattered. This is not a review of Priscilla Sierk’s psychiatry skills, but there are plenty of good doctors in Austin that do not hire staff that is so thoroughly unpleasant to deal with.
