Decided to get the free Tat that Bangerz offers. went in around 1230 or one and had some blonde haired guy with a goatee named Tyler do me and my friends tattoo, here is a real asshole and was in a hurry and he did a terrible job on both our tattoos. as you can see from the picture the lines are not straight at all and I know it’s free but at least have respect for the skin that you’re tattooing and respect for your work. I will never go back to this location and less it is to fix this shitty tattoo that I was given do not go here. I believe the tattoo artist name was Tyler, but I’m not sure blond spiky hair and blonde goatee. Step up your game platinum Inc.

We came in from Houston and remember this place from our college days. We were surprised to see the changes to the place, and it looks great! You guys up front were very nice and helpful, and your piercer was awesome and very accommodating throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend these guys for piercings. I can’t comment on their tattooing because I didn’t get tattooed here but definitely are go to piercing place for the price and a combination combination factor.

I have been wanting a tattoo for my thyroid cancer awareness and when I came in with my brother and was recommended to Laguna right away he was welcoming. I showed him what I wanted he drew it out, made sure the placement was correct on where I wanted it, asked me about the colors. Overall it was the best experience ever and I will definitely be going back to have him do anymore I decide to get. he was clean and walked through the steps. very good experience

This place does not take care of their customers at all. Not only do they pierce a staggering amount of people a day, but they use cheap jewelry. And no, they don’t bother to mention that it’s not implant grade before they stick you. For some people this doesn’t matter, but if you have sensitive skin like I do it can cause some serious problems down the line. If they at least owned up to using cheap jewelry and warned people ahead of time I wouldn’t have a problem, but it’s really frustrating to find out two weeks later when you have to go to a different shop to get it fixed. Also, they don’t bother to go over after care with you. They just give you a pamphlet and send you off. The shop I’m going to now sits down and makes sure that you completely understand how to take care of the piercing and what to expect while healing. It’s unprofessional and dangerous, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a lot of people get serious infections because after care was not discussed.
Long story short, if you want to pay $ 15 for a piercing, be prepared for a really shitty job.

My friend and I had a great experience here today, so I’m surprised to see so many low rated reviews here on Unilocal!
The place is very clean, pleasing to the eye and nose (haha). Of course, it was fairly packed and I assume that’s because it’s Sunday and everybody and their mom are thrilled about the $ 15 pricing for the select few piercings. They were still very efficient, and we were pierced and out of there in less than 25 minutes.
I got my inner conch pierced on my right ear (been waiting for ages to do this so I’m so happy I finally got it done!), and my friend got two helix piercings on her right. Justin was the guy who did mine and explained the different guages I could get according to what I desired. The piercing is not crooked at all and sits nicely on my ear in the place I wanted.
I didn’t experience much pain at all, and still haven’t! Surprising because when I got my helix pierced two years ago (salon in Houston) I experienced a lot of swelling and I had a chronic infection for months afterward, so I assumed my body would react the same way with this one. Time will tell I guess, but I have a good feeling about this one.
In summary: great place and I would recommend Platinum & Justin to friends for sure. Will be back!
As always before getting any piercings, do your research! And don’t be scared to speak up and ask questions.

I had heard about $ 15 piercing Sunday’s from a couple people around town. While I did my research, I wish I would have done a little more.
I wasn’t consulted on what type of jewelry I wanted, which frankly didn’t bother me too much. However, I feel like I should have been asked at least. The guy who pierced my tragus and helix was a sweetheart though.
Nearly a week later, my tragus was killing me. I was nearly positive that I shouldn’t have been experiencing that much pain and probably had a slight infection. I went back and one of their other piercers came to take a look. I told him that despite soaking and using the piercing aftercare kit that something wasn’t right. He looked and claimed it seemed like white blood cells and not to worry. However, what bothered me the most was that his breath reeked of alcohol. I just find that completely unprofessional while you are on the job.
Nearly a month later, I have noticed my tragus piercing has migrated and so I’ve consulted with another place in town. I came to find out that my helix was actually pierced with the wrong gauge. The placement of my tragus was also quite unusual. It did indeed migrate probably due to some reaction of the cheap jewelry they used. They also used a curved barbell. It is indeed supposed to be a straight piece of jewelry. Needless to say, I’m displeased. I do not like the placement of my tragus and will probably have it redone elsewhere. You get what you pay for. Next time, I’ll save my money and spend more for better quality.

I got my nose pierced on a half priced Sunday. The piercer was almost too casual about giving the piercing, as I’m sure he pierces hundreds of people on Sundays. After he put the piercing in I noticed it seemed a little crooked and the piercing wasn’t sitting flat on my nose.
This past weekend I went to another piercing place to purchase a ring for my nose, and after the piercer there checked out my nose piercing, he told me that it was done improperly. He informed me that my piercing was done at a downward angle, when it is usually supposed to be done either perpendicularly or at an upward angle if I eventually wanted to wear a ring. He recommended that I take the piercing out and let it heal and get it redone properly. I barely had my nose done for 3 weeks and took it out because it was done improperly. Waste of $ 25.

Usually I go to the location on burnet which I would be giving 5 stars. The dude at this location pierced my dermals crooked and seemed extremely unsure of himself the entire time. Not reassuring when you’re getting implants.

I went today to get both sides of my nostrils pierced. Their new location upstairs looks great, very clean and professional. Staff was knowledgable and friendly. Justin did my piercings, he made sure they were lined up perfectly and I love the result. Great deal on piercings on Sundays. Even though it was pretty busy they were very organized and quick. Def will go again for my next piercing.

Tragus done on half priced Sundays

DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE! I got my cartilage pierced on a Sunday over a year ago. The piercer did not mark my ear. He just said, «is this where you want it?» and then stuck the needle in. I do have a low pain tolerance, but I nearly fainted after getting this piercing. There is no way it should have hurt this badly. I got a tragus piercing later at a fantastic, well-​known piercing place, and I could barely feel it. I took care of the cartilage piercing diligently. When I first took the earring out a few months later, after days of trying, I had to resort to pliers to unscrew earring out of my ear (excruciatingly painful, I might add), because they screwed it in so tightly. I couldn’t get it back in, and had to buy a new earring. It hurt so badly to put in, the piercing had obviously not healed yet. I couldn’t put it in myself, so went to another tattoo place, and they had to force it in for me. I got reoccurring bumps on the piercing throughout the last year, and there are weeks when it gets incredibly sore and red. Over a year has passed, and yet again, I have another infected bump on the back of it. I have been spraying it with a high quality piercing solution fairly regularly the past few months, since it gets sore easily. Please go to a reputable piercing parlor. After the amount of money I had to spend replacing jewelry and going to piercing shops to get the earrings to go in, I spent more money in all than I would have just going to a better shop.

This place was great. I went on Sunday to get the $ 15 piercing special. I got both ears gauged for $ 30. IMO that’s a great deal. There were a ton of people in there getting pierced so the wait was a little long, but well worth it. And don’t think, «you get what you paid for» when it comes to their work or sanitation. The same piercing I got here is a good $ 75 or more around 6^th St. The piercing area was very clean and the artist knew his stuff when it came to treating and cleaning your new piercing. I never got his name, but he was still very friendly and looked tired. I guess I would be to after doing 20+ piercings and it was only 4 o clock. Every employee that I dealt with were very cool and I am going back when I’m ready for another piercing. Thanks for everything Platinum Ink

Great place to go for piercings but I definitely wouldn’t suggest them for tattoos.
I got my first tattoo there just over two years ago but it looks so much older, I’m planning on getting it completely redone because I’m just not happy with it. The lines aren’t the same thickness throughout, they don’t connect where they should, and the ink quality just isn’t that great. Had I done more research on artists I would have gone somewhere else.

I went in there to get my belly pierced. I mostly went in for the cheap prices and I heard fair reviews. The service was fast and there were not as many people as I expected there to be on a Sunday. The place was average, clean. The guy at the front desk was really nice but my piercer was a bit quiet. I tried to ask some questions but he was a bit vague. This did worry me but he was actually very efficient with my piercing. It never has gotten infected and healed pretty fast. He pierced it right and i don’t regret getting it there.

YUCK. I heard so many so-​so things about this shop so me and boyfriend went in to get random tattoos.
1. I know good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good, and I defiantly should keep by that.
But I just wanted a soild red pair of brass knucks so I didn’t really think that it was going to be that big of a deal. We ended up getting Kyle to tattoo us. My pain tolerance is pretty high and I have a side piece but he was kind of hurting me but I just was thinking it was because of the location of the tattoo (in the inside of my upper arm) so I just stuck it out. Then after he was done with mine he did my boyfriends (he got a cupcake with color in the same place) and before he started he was jackin’ around with his gun like there was something wrong with it when he was doing my tattoo.
After it started healing everyone was telling me that it looked really bad and I was just in denial and I was just telling people that it would probably look better once it heals all the way.
WRONG!
He scared me so bad and my boyfriends tattoo turned out fine. Again I have a few tattoos and i’m not new to aftercare. My side piece was done at Rock of Ages and it really shows that they know what their doing.
It just really frustrates me that people see my skin color and they think that they need to dig on me, especially when the tattoo artist is of black/​mixed also, so you would think he would know.
When I talked to them about it they just assumed that I just didn’t take care of it well, which just pissed me off.
I would never go back there again.

I wish I could rate this place negative stars. I went on there «Sunday Special» that was my first mistake. Piercings are $ 15 each, sounds fine, been here other times with friends so I decided to go myself. The place was packed, in fact every Sunday its packed. I went to get my gauges upgraded and mannn did they faux up. I got a diffrent size on each ear. NOT what I asked for, my ear bled alittle they told me they fixed it. Next day both my ears won’t STOP bleeding… and of course there closed mondays to avoid complaints. I had to run around town before I found a shop that would fix it. I won’t mention the shop so I don’t seem bias, but they have a huge scrapbook on people they had to fix on mondays from platinum. This other shop was so helpfull they pierced me for free. WORST PLACE EVER TO GET PIERCED. THERE CLIENTEL Isn’t knowledgable there mainly teens, newbies, or strippers. The staff is cool its not there fault, we all need a job, I blame there boss pushing all these customers on them and there cheap jewelry that infects. From my take AVOID THIS PLACE your drunk friends can pierce you better.

It looks kind of grungy from outside, but I was surprised to see that it was really clean when I walked in! It even smelled like a dentist’s office. They were prompt to ask what I wanted done, and prompt to call my name so I could get my piercing.
The guy who pierced my rook took me into this room and played some upbeat spanish-​sounding music – I guess to make both of us feel more at home? He answered all the questions I had in regard to pain and aftercare, and the piercing was quick and easy! Super friendly, and I’m really satisfied with it.
Also, I went on a Sunday night, so piercings are cheaper! Most start at $ 15; I know my rook was $ 15.

2 Bama Belles enter a bar… just kidding… this place is clean, professional, cost efficient and my friend’s tattoo artist, Kyle, was a dead hit for Lenny Kravitz. Good job on her tattoo. Would totally go back!

I went to Platinum Ink’s south location this past summer to get my first tattoo. I was surprised to see that the location on Riverside was very clean and modern inside. The employees were also very nice and helpful, so I did not feel uncomfortable at all even though it was my first time getting a tattoo.
I definitely recommend J Dub! He’s a really cool guy and explained everything very well. I got a really saturated tattoo, so in the healing process, it scabbed over heavily and pulled off some of the ink. I returned after the 90-​day touch-​up period, but he reworked my tattoo for free! It was mostly because such a heavily saturated tattoo would have scarred even worse if I had gotten it done within the 90 days, so I’m thinking the price of the rework is a case-​by-​case basis.
Overall, I really like Platinum Ink’s south location. If you’ve never gotten a tattoo before, this place is not what you would expect from guys with tattoos and piercings all over their bodies. They are professionals, and I’m sure anyone would have a great experience here.
