If you expect a dentist that cares, don’t waste your time going to this office. If could give them zero stars, I would. I clench my teeth at night which recently resulted in a cracked tooth that needed a root canal & crown. Unfortunately, I’ve been unemployed without dental insurance for 14 months, so I went to Manos de Cristo for that work. To prevent this from happening again, I need a night guardm but Manos de Cristo doesn’t do those, so referred me to a periodontist that accepts patients from Manos de Cristo at a discounted rate. I called & talked to the receptions explaining my problem. She quoted me a price of $ 200 to $ 300. I was thrilled because a mouth guard can run anywhere between $ 800 — $ 1000+. I asked her if that was all it was going to cost because it seemed very low. She said that’s it. I explained I didn’t need an examination since I’d just had all of the work done. I showed up for my appt & was taken back to the chair. The dental hygentist explained about the x-rays, etc. I told her I was only there for the night guard, & I had my molds that Manos de Cristo had already made for me. She told me to hold on & left to talk to someone. She came back & said the office manager told her I had to have an exam for an additional $ 100 to make sure there wasn’t anything else going on. I gave her a card of the dentist that did my last exam Just a couple of months ago so they could get my records. Eventually I ended up talking to the office manager(horrible!) who said they wouldn’t do the night guard, and the price now was $ 400 to $ 500, without an exam that was an additional $ 100. She didn’t care about my discussion w/their receptionist & the price I was quoted. I asked to speak to the dentist because I thought he should hear about my experience. I would think he’d want to know how from a patient how his office is being run. The office mngr came back & told me he was on the phone & couldn’t talk to me. There was zero customer service & no apology for the misunderstanding. While I was talking to her, she was smirking & laughing, the whole time! I could not believe someone would act that way in a professional office. I told her that no one’s even said they were sorry, so she said, «I’m sorry, but the dentist still won’t talk to you»!! Like, I’ll say I’m sorry but it’s still not going to change the situation. Obviously not a sincere apology. If the dentist doesn’t care to talk to a patient that is unhappy, he doesn’t care about his patients.
