After a disastrous phone interview with another coordinator in the Austin area fate brought Jen in to our lives and we could not have been more thrilled.
The initial conversation left me feeling all warm and fuzzy and pretty much ready to leave my fiancé to marry Jen because anyone who can stay that organized is basically my soulmate (I’d live in a Container Store if it were socially acceptable).
My husband and i were only able to travel back to Texas twice before the wedding. Each weekend was maxed out with appointments, laughs, decisions and me generally going «Well, Jen, what do you think? Is that classy?» and Jen responding «Yes, Janet, you’ll be classy.» Once I heard that I just left it in her hands because honestly, I don’t know anything about planning a wedding anyway so it’s best to leave it to the professionals.
Sep 26, 2015 — I am sitting in a room with my best friends just waiting. No one seems to be bothering me, there is no stress, everything is going according to plan, my family is one piece, my husband’s family is still speaking to one another… and I have this thought… Is it supposed to be this easy? Bride advice that I’d received was always about the stress, the pressure, the family feuds, the overwhelming desire to cut and run to the courthouse and grab the first flight to Mexico. Nope, not for me. My advice… hire Jen & Pearl Events. I spent my wedding day siping champagne as I laughed with the loves of my life waiting to marry the man of my dreams.
A wedding planner can be your best and worst decision. It depends on who it is and I’m lucky enough to realize that mine was professional, smart as a whip and generally just the best at her job. She got things done that I never knew about, problems never came close to touching me… NOTHING interuppted my big day. Oh and while this may seem like a one-​sided review my husband WHOLE HEARTEDLY agrees with every word.
Did I spend money on this? Absolutely. Would I spend double the amount knowing what it got me… PSHH PLEASE. ABSOLUTELY. The stress free, blissful, perfect wedding day that I enjoyed was worth every penny.
The wedding day is over, my husband and I are newlyweds and yet there is Jen. Just checking to make sure it went well, there were no problems and «was there anything else she can help with.» I mean honestly, she was done with her job but still cared enough to make sure that as Mr. & Mrs. we were just as content as when we had been the future Mr. & Mrs. Now THAT is classy.

We got married a few months ago in the Texas Hill Country area, but we live in NY so we were planning the wedding out of state… Megan was our wedding coordinator and she was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly patient, helpful, understanding, nice and attentive. Due to weather we had to change up our plans pretty last minute, and we could not have done any of that without Megan. That and a gazillion other things — she was awesome. Having her assistance was one of the best decisions we made. Megan, thank you!!!

AMAZING! I met with several wedding planners before making a final decision. I was looking for a day-​of coordinator who could recommend vendors and be there to answer questions throughout my planning process. What I loved about the ladies at Pearl Events, particularly Becky, was the sense of trust that I felt in them. When I envisioned my wedding day and thought about the person I would see right before I walked down the aisle, I wanted it to be Becky. Choosing your wedding coordinator is a huge decision, as it can impact the rest of your wedding through the vendors and design elements you choose. Thank goodness we chose Becky! She has a calm demeanor and, simply put, knows her shit! You can tell she has been in this industry for a long time and has built strong connections with event planners, photographers, caterers, and florists. Becky will help guide you as you make the decisions that will personalize your big day. And she is so much fun along the way — funny, honest, supportive, organized. On the day of our wedding, we had a bit of trouble with the shuttles, but I never stressed a minute about it because Becky was on top of it before I even knew there was a problem! I honestly cannot recommend Pearl Events highly enough. After I realized I gave myself four months to plan a wedding city in a city I’d never been to, I decided it might be worth biting the bullet and hiring a planner «on the ground» even though I was against the idea of such an expense for a simple backyard afternoon wedding for less than 50 adults. But I live in NYC and know nothing about Austin so I did a google search and sent a few inquiries and somehow stumbled upon Ashley at Pearl Events. Hiring her turned out to be the BEST DECISION EVER. It’ so much more work than you think. I honestly have no idea how we would have pulled it off without Ashley’s help. Not only was it worth every penny, her ideas and suggestions were invaluable. There’s a reason people use professionals for these things and trust me they know what they’re doing! At the last minute (literally one day before people arrived) I decided I regretted not doing welcome bags in the hotel rooms and if I showed you a picture of what she and her team were able to pull off in 24 hours you would not believe it. And unlike any professional services firm I’ve ever hired she stayed within budget and exceeded expectations in spades. If you’re planning any kind of event in Austin, RUN, do not walk — hire her now. I promise you will wonder how you ever survived planning it without her help.

Megan was the day-​of wedding planner for our daughter’s wedding and she was the glue that made it happen. That day is one I will never forget — it way exceeded my expectations and was truly magical. I don’t know how Megan and her assistant were able to do the work of a dozen but everything was just perfect.

Ashley of Pearl Events was so patient and wonderful! She was always available to me and responded to any concerns immediately throughout the whole wedding planning process. I don’t remember much about my wedding day — it is all such a blur and no, I did not have any alcoholic drinks that day :) But when I saw our pics and watched our wedding video I realized how much time, effort, and attention to detail Ashley put into our wedding. From little tiny details like the way each table was set and the way party favors were laid out to getting everyone where they needed to be (with my family it was like herding cats, I’m sure), Ashley did an awesome job. I was able to see from pics and video the welcome table where she had laid out our pics and pics of my parents and other wedding memorabilia — such a beautiful thing for guests to see as they walk into the venue. She had even thought of my comfort ahead of time and made sure I had a small electric fan under my table as that long wedding dress traps heat.
Our wedding went so smoothly and I was fully able to enjoy the day. Ashley’s timetable of events got everything accomplished that needed to be accomplished at a wedding (formal pics, cake cutting, etc.) yet gave us enough time in between to really enjoy our party. One of my guests commented that they saw Ashley running around with an Excel-​type spreadsheet and wanted to know who my wedding planner was because that’s exactly the type of person they would want to plan their wedding. I worked with Becky Levin Navarro at Pearl Events for my March 7^th wedding, and I highly recommend her! Throughout the months of planning leading up to my wedding, she was always quick to respond to each and every question that came up and helped guide me through the process of choosing vendors and other details that worked best for my budget and wedding goals. This was very valuable as the number of choices/​options can be quite overwhelming! On the day of the wedding, she, along with her two assistants Alanna and Lauren, helped make my day run smoothly and stress-​free. It was so beautiful, and through their support, my fiancé and I were able to enjoy every second!

I hired Pearl Events at the recommendation of my friend Brittany, who had the pleasure of working with Becky Navarro for her own wedding at Vintage Villas 5 years prior. I decided to go with the «junior» level wedding-​day coordinator who was available, Megan Metzger, based solely on price (that is probably not the right job description and I am probably butchering poor Megan’s title, just meant to say that there are different pricing tiers and I went with the lower one).
At first, it seemed like a lot of money, like a totally frivolous expense. I mean, I knew what I wanted for my decorations, ceremony, etc. Why was I paying someone so much money for just one day? I tried to find a reason to knock an hour off one place or another to save $ 100.
As the day approached, I started working with Megan more heavily. And I stopped all that nonsense worrying about the cost. Megan was worth every penny I paid and then some. She helped me think through things well before the big day that would not even have occurred to me until the last minute, and probably would have made me lose all sense of sanity. Like, if your mom and dad aren’t together, and your dad isn’t walking you down the aisle, how are your mom and dad getting to their seats but separately? Mind blown, right? Yeah, better to think about that weeks beforehand when you’re calm than in the moment, standing in your dress, waiting for the wedding party to walk down the aisle in front of you. Trust me.
During the ceremony, Megan and her assistant Jackie kept everything moving, on schedule, and was my advocate when I was elsewhere (taking photos, eating, on the dance floor). We got so many compliments from our guests on how well everything flowed together, how well everything ran. She was a lifesaver. I’d give her more stars if Unilocal would let me. I know she was the reason I got to be mentally present at the wedding, rather than worrying about everything else.
Having now completed the event, I can’t imagine NOT hiring Pearl Events or Megan Metzger as an event coordinator. They are worth every penny.

Becky and her Pearl Events team are a dream come true for a bride. I planned a wedding in Austin from Cleveland, OH where we live. Everyone kept commenting on how hard it must be to do that but having Becky made it so easy. She recommended essentially all of my vendors and was spot-​on. We took one trip to Austin and she worked her schedule to be available for us as she knew we had just the one trip to get a whole bunch of tasks done. She managed to help me add a silly detail (cider donuts at the welcome table) at the last minute. Many wedding planners at other weddings I have attended have been obnoxious and controlling– everyone loved Becky! My bridesmaids loved her, my parents loved her. She had drinks for my husband and I just as we were thinking we were ready for a glass of wine. I started to get a little sweaty so she turned up the AC. A few times, my fiancée and I found ourselves hanging out with her at the wedding instead of our guests! She is just the best. The day of the wedding ran so smoothly– numerous people commented on how perfect the wedding was, how seamless it was. My mom’s comment after the wedding was, «She should have charged you double what she did.” — thats how good she was! I would recommend Becky and her team to any bride in a heartbeat.

Megan Metzger was my wedding planner, and she was the best investment we made for our wedding. Seriously, Megan went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — months beforehand and on the day. Megan is extremely organized and gave great advice and direction when I was indecisive. Thanks to Megan’s expertise, the wedding day had a very smooth timeline, which our guests appreciated. She really knows what she is doing, and I did not have to worry about anything the day of. I never felt pressured during the wedding planning process. Megan is a wonderful lady to work with, and I would recommend her to anybody for their wedding. She deserves a very large tip and spa day after each wedding :)

Hiring Jessica, and Pearl Events to take over my brother’s wedding after almost a year of planning was the best decision! Being the sister of the groom, I truly wanted to enjoy his wedding despite being the one who had planned it all, knowing that Jessica was in charge on the day of, left me to enjoy every minute! She took the reins and handled every bump in the road like a champ! I would highly recommend letting Pearl Events make your special day everything you wish for!

I’ll admit, I was totally against hiring a wedding planner for the wedding. I am organized, my husband is creative… what more could we need? Well, how about someone to handle all of the last minute details that come up in the weeks before the wedding and someone to handle all of the details the day of the wedding! That’s where Pearl Events came in. Megan was our «day of» coordinator and did an absolutely fantastic job. She was professional, detail oriented, highly responsive, and made the day of the wedding virtually stress-​free. I would recommend Pearl Events to any bride and groom who are interested in enjoying their special day instead of worrying about when the cakes will arrive, when the getaway car will get there, etc. Money VERY well spent.

Hiring a day-​of-​coordinator was the best money I’ve ever spent IN MY LIFE! I got married at the LBJ Wildflower Center, which has very strict rules, and I never would have been able to pull off this wedding without Jessica Brightwell and Pearl Events.
To be quite honest, I chose Pearl Events over the other two coordination service companies based on price. They were the most affordable, so I went with them.
Before I even decided to go with Pearl Events, Jessica spent an hour talking to me about the wedding details. She was fully aware of all the challenges of having a wedding at the Wildflower Center, which was reassuring.
I didn’t have much contact with Jessica until a couple months before the wedding. She arranged the walkthrough with the caterer and drafted a floorplan, which she sent out to all the vendors. A couple weeks before the wedding, she confirmed all of the vendors and double-​checked all the contracts to ensure I was getting what I paid for. She even noticed that I only purchased 12 centerpieces, when I was having 13 dinner tables (12 guest tables and a sweetheart table), so she suggested placing my bouquet at the sweetheart table. That was the plan all along — I guess I forgot to tell Jessica — but I’m so glad she noticed this little detail.
The day of the wedding, everything ran so smoothly. I didn’t have to think about anything or do anything. Everything was on time, and if something went wrong, I sure didn’t know about it. Pearl Events took care of EVERYTHING from setting up my decorations, to pinning the boutonnieres on the guys, and bringing the girls our bouquets. Immediately after the ceremony was over, she brought my husband and I our drink of choice, which she made sure to find out about the day before the wedding. She brought us both a plate of food and always kept our glasses full. The day was absolutely perfect, and I know I owe it all to Jessica and Pearl Events.

Pearl Events was a recommended vendor by our venue, Vintage Villas. We were searching for a day of coordinator and met with them, and also interviewed a few others, but we ultimately decided on Pearl Events and could not have been happier! We decided to work with Jessica Brightwell and she was absolutely amazing! She did not take the title «day of» too literally, and was a huge help for weeks leading up to the big day. She even encouraged us to drop off boxes full of our do it yourself items over several trips to her office in the days leading up to our wedding day, just to take one additional item off our plate.
As someone who is a bit OCD and all about the details, Jessica was a breath of fresh air. She is young and fun, but still extremely competent, professional, and detail oriented. Whenever my OCD kicked in on our wedding day and I asked about something, it was always already done– always. That is just how Jessica is. She makes sure you have nothing to worry about so you can enjoy your wedding day, and does it all in a cool, calm, and collected way. We would absolutely recommend Jessica to anyone needing a wedding coordinator in the Austin area!

Initially I thought that I could plan my wedding myself. However, as I locked down details and suppliers, it became very clear that there would be A LOT of details I’d have to attend to myself the day of the wedding. It was important to me that I enjoy the day and have fun, so I was grateful when our wedding venue, Vintage Villas, recommended Pearl Events.
We worked with Jessica and met with her a few months before our wedding. She asked questions to get an understanding of what we were looking for and shared options of what Pearl Events could offer. I thought there rates were very fair. After we made our selection, Jessica attended our details meeting with Vintage Villas about a month before our wedding date. She had worked on weddings in the past at Vintage Villas and knew all of the right specifics to nail down.
Jessica was always very helpful and responsive through e-​mail leading up to the event. She confirmed all of our vendors 1 – 2 weeks before our wedding date. She also attended our rehearsal the day before the wedding.
On our special day, Pearl Events took care of everything for us. They met with our vendors, set up the decorations, and helped «flip» our ceremony room to the reception room while we and our guests were eating in another room. I was all smiles the day of our event because I could enjoy myself and the moment and not have to worry about any details. I’m so happy that I used Pearl Events because it really made it a stress free, enjoyable day!
Two really nice touches on the day of our wedding I also wanted to mention is that — 1) one of the Pearl Events staff members had champagne poured for us (with a cherry at the bottom) as soon as we were married and walked back down the aisle — so awesome! And 2) they put a bottle of champagne in our hotel room with 2 Pearl Events cookies while we were at the reception. I really appreciated these touches!

Pearl Events was recommended by my wedding venue, Vintage Villas, for their coordination services. After doing a bit of research, Pearl Events was the best option in terms of affordability and experience working at Vintage Villas. I ended up going with Jessica for day-​of coordination services.
Since I was planning my Austin wedding from Dallas, I did the majority of my coordination with Jessica over the phone! We had a few phone calls to get all of the details up front, and I was able to email her anytime with whatever random questions I had — from how many lanterns would I need in this room to is this reasonable in terms of pricing for florals? She always had a cheerful disposition and was super prompt in her responses. She also informed me of any rental specials or deals whenever they were going on!
Jessica confirmed all of my vendors two weeks before my wedding and kept them up to date with any type of last minute changes. On the day of, she was so calm and professional — and set up all (and there were a lot) of my decorations beautifully. She made sure we had a plate of food — which we actually got to eat! — and always checked if I needed another drink. The entire night ran so smoothly and I know a big chunk of that has to do with Jessica!
Even though we initially didn’t budget for coordination services, having a day-​of coordinator was well worth it. I highly recommend using Pearl Events if you are getting married at Vintage Villas — it helps so much in terms of figuring out how to decorate and set up the venue! Brides, trust me on this one, it will take a load of stress off!

Where do I begin??? I was a bride who definitely felt like I could never afford a wedding planner. It seemed like something people with extravagent budgets do, not me! But alas, I found out about Becky Navarro with Pearl Events Austin through a friend at work. Becky was so prompt with her response when I contacted her, and after our first meeting, I was SOLD!
She is the most knowledgable wedding coordinator in Austin, I promise. She’s been in this business for quite a while now, and she has made many great connections. She is so fun to work with, has great ideas, and will always give you her honest opinion. She is very creative and in the words of Tim Gunn, «will make it work.» She is very professional as well. To me, her great relationships with all other vendors is a true reflection of what a wonderful wedding planner she is. When I met with my other vendors and they asked who my planner was, I would say Becky’s name, and they all reacted the same, «Oh Becky? She is amazing, you made the right choice! We love her!!!» Who doesn’t want to hear that?
Our wedding was in March at Vintage Villas and from start to finish, it was perfect. I began the planning process completely clueless and Becky never made me feel like I was asking «dumb» questions. I was SO impressed by the timeliness of her responses, too. She is on top of all the details. She even went with me to pick out and order my linens, as «linen-​talk» is like a foreign language! Very confusing, but she knew exactly what to do and there were no issues. She knows everyone and I feel like the personal relationship she has with so many Austin vendors (florists, cake, photogs) makes things go more smoothly. She and her team typed up our timeline and were so flexible with making changes up until the day before the wedding. She handled a rather demanding and chaotic family situation with such grace and compusure and never missed a beat. The Pearl Events team showed up right on time the day of our wedding and immediately went to work. I didn’t have to stress about anything and that is the way it should be as the bride! I felt relief knowing she and her team were there to handle the details and keep us on track with our timeline. Becky is a true professional and is beyond talented at what she does. You will not regret hiring her to be in charge of your big day!!! We cannot say enough to compliment Becky and the Pearl Events team.

I was tasked with planning my company’s 10 year anniversary with 2 weeks notice and a very strict budget. I immediately started contacting event planning companies around town to help rescue me. Those that contacted me back said that they either couldn’t do it or would need a much larger budget to make it happen, but not Becky. She was the first to respond to my email, stopped by that afternoon to meet me and see the space, and once retained, hit the ground running.
I was so impressed with her calm demeanor and organization. She just made things happen. Within 2 days I had multiple quotes from all the vendors and was able to make decisions easily. She helped me brainstorm cost saving measures to ensure we stayed within the budget. She even found out about special discounts that were going on with some of the vendors and planned the ordering accordingly to make sure we saved every penny possible.
On the day of, Becky and team arrived early, immediately started setting up and totally transformed the space. They took a cold boring office lobby and made it a swanky night club. The whole company (especially our CEO) was very impressed and everyone had an amazing time. Becky made me look good. Even better, I was able to enjoy the party myself!
Bottom line: Pearl Events does a fantastic job. Becky listened to what we wanted, took care of all the details, stayed within budget and threw us an amazing event. I can’t thank them enough for the great job. You can’t go wrong with Pearl Events for your next party.

If you are looking for a super fun, smart, and creative person to help you plan your wedding, you have found the right girl! Becky and her staff are amazing! Her prices are VERY reasonable and she has great customer service, which is difficult to find with some of the large event planners in town.
She has been in the Austin Wedding scene for many years, so she has LOTS of connections, which means really great deals! I would highly recommend Pearl Events to anyone who wants to have fun planning their party/​wedding and a stress free event.

Becky was my coordinator at Vintage Villas in 2009 (I reviewed Becky and Vintage Villas on the VV page a while back). Since I got married, she’s started her own planning company, Pearl Events, and is now a full-​service wedding planner – LUCKY for brides! Working with Becky, even in a more limited capacity than she is now able to offer, was a wonderful experience. She handled my many questions, which were likely the same questions she answered all day long from the other VV brides, in a very timely and specific way and was ALWAYS friendly and professional, clearing up any doubts or lingering questions I had about anything wedding-​related. She was there from the day I set my date through the nitty-​gritty decision making process, right up through the rehearsal and day-​of. She truly helped me pull loose ends together when even I, a very proactive and organized bride, was losing my way toward the end-​and remember, this was when she was not even my full-​time planner. I can only imagine how helpful she would have been had she had a larger role in my planning. Even still, she was full of helpful suggestions and ideas that were, most importantly, within my budget.
I really want to stress again how professional she is and how strong her work ethic is. At friends’ weddings, I have seen other wedding planners chit chatting about personal matters with staff in the corner and not tending to key details. Things were left undone, and bridal parties were left high and dry without direction at various points in the day and without champagne when the toasts began (!!!). I can confidently tell you that that would not happen at a wedding of Becky’s. Not only is she a lovely lady who is fun to be around and work with, she is the consummate professional, and I think when choosing a planner you have to be EXTREMELY careful about that. There aren’t any do-​overs or returns, so be sure yours is there to do her job well and not just collect her check!
The day of my wedding was seamless because of Becky. I was trying to stick to a budget and I don’t know if I would have hired a day-​of coordinator had I not already been hooked up with Becky’s services through the venue. But because of Becky, I am now the biggest advocate of (at a minimum) having a day-​of coordinator for your wedding. Seriously, if you are on the fence about whether or not it is worth the money, let me tell you, unequivocally, IT IS! There were never any questions of if vendors were there yet, who would meet them, were things getting set up on time and in the right place, are the groom and groomsmen on time and in the right place, when to start walking down the aisle, where my groom and I should go immediately after the ceremony, I could go on and on. Without Becky, these questions and stresses would have been placed on my mom and mother-in-law’s shoulders (or even worse, mine), and I am so grateful that we never had to worry about anything! I truly floated through my wedding day, and I doubt I could say the same had Becky not been there. She was such a great resource and asset to me, I only wish she had been a full-​service planner when I was a bride!
