A longtime gender and sexuality activist, Paula provides an affirming environment to work through life issues. She offers individual, group, and relationship counseling for gender and sexual minorities. From transition issues, to trauma and family dysfunction, anxiety, depression and PTSD, Paula has worked in the counseling field as a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor and as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She was the first trans-woman to complete her MSSW at the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She was a founding member of the Transgender Education Network of Texas and is a kink aware professional.

Business Owner
Paula is a native Texan and has lived in Austin most of her life. She had over 15 years experience as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor working for programs such as Solutions Counseling and St. David’s Pavilion. She was a Technical Assistant for the Texas Commission for Alcohol and Drug Abuse during the Anne Richards Administration. Following coming out as a trans-woman in the 1990s, she was an activist for GLBT rights and was a founding member of the Transgender Education Network of Texas. In 2008 she returned to The University of Texas at Austin to earn a Master of Science in Social Work degree (she was the first trans-woman in the school of social work). While in grad school, she was a student co-chair of the Dean’s Advisory Committee on Social Justice. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and was the commencement speaker for her graduating class. She is a kink aware and a poly friendly therapist.
