Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa

Just left this amazing resort celebrating our 7 year anniversary. From the moment we checked in, they made our stay 10 times more memorable. They delivered chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. During breakfast, complementary mimosas. Great customer service. Will visit again just because…

Wow! Last minute reservation with the kids in tow, and the concierge pulled out all the works! :). Goody bags with games for each child, and we were surprised to find cookies and milk in the room for each kid — one for each, so no sharing required. Spacious room, and we quickly discovered the mini bar we DIDN’T want the kids to discover — stocked with all sorts of treats for kids and adults. Kids Club was fully booked, so if you plan on coming on short notice, be prepared for that. (We plan on booking another stay soon and will make advance reservations.). Dinner room service was amazing, as were the gentleman who brought it. All staff were very patient with my extremely hyper, inquisitive, very talkative son, and never seemed annoyed at all. It really is a great treasure of a place.

We purchased a groupon for a night and it was great. Everyone was so nice and the room was comfy. I also had a great massage! The only thing I would change is more pillows in the rooms!

I made a reservation for a staycation on New Year’s Day. Definitely a mixed bag of experiences. The room was nice, including a comfortable bed and a well laid-​out bathroom. The staff were all incredibly nice and provided excellent service. The package deal that we purchased included dinner at the 8212 Wine Bar and breakfast in the Hill Country Dining Room. Both meals were very good, although we might have considered other options away from the resort had the meals not been included.
There were several glitches which caused me to rate the property down. First, I arranged (AKA paid) for early check-​in and late check-​out. The front desk seemed surprised by early check in and the gentleman said «Well, I had to move some rooms around, but we made it work.» Actually, I expect it to work when I pay for the privilege of early check in. Also, if certain things are to be in the room upon check-​in, I’d have presumed that the early check-​in would’ve clued staff in to the expectation that the chocolates (included in the stay package we chose) would be ready near check-​in as well, rather than the front desk having to call for them to be sent later. While we had a 4 PM check out, we had housekeeping knocking on our door around noon (even with a do-​not-​disturb sign) asking as to our «departure plans» in broken English.
We would’ve liked to have experienced the spa, but after repeated voicemails left before our arrival, we never got any followup. Finally, we checked with the spa upon our arrival and were informed that they were completely booked and they could work us in for only a head and neck massage.
At the price point the Omni charges, I’d have rated them down much lower for these glitches. Upon checkout, I told the front desk staff about our concerns. The lady at the front desk listened politely and informed me that she’d let a manager know. (Maybe I am being picky, but I’d have appreciated the opportunity to speak with a manager immediately.) However, I did end up speaking with Dana, the assistant front desk manager. Dana’s grace, understanding, and accommodation showed me that, at least in her case, the Omni is capable of providing first rate service.
Assuming these are truly glitches, then the Omni may be an excellent resort option for a vacation. At this point, I am reserving judgment until a future visit to see if the service matches the price point.

The hotel staff is very nice and the report is very nice as well. Our room is very spacious with a nice view of the golf course and pool. During the winter here the have a little skating rink set up. I do mean little, but it’s festive and cute. Everything is nice here but it’s forgettable and not amazing and that’s why I only give it 4 stars. Definitely a nice place to stay if you are spending some time in Austin, but keep in mind downtown Austin is 25 minutes away.
One more suggestion… The spa fills up really fast, so u should chose what you want from thee spa when you book

Be very careful with this hotel. Their policy of canceling your room is not like every other hotel. I had a change of plans and attempted to cancel the room with more than 24 hours notice. I was informed that they require cancellation 2 days prior, before noon. It was ludicrous. They said they wouldn’t charge me for the room but they would not return my deposit for the room which was the entire amount (they gave me no option but to pay the full price). Omni should honor the 24 hour prior cancellation like every other hotel chain and I won’t stay there again until they do. Also, the customer service representative was quite snarky about it saying that since they are «Omni» they require more of people. Ha!

This place is a joke. Booked many months in advance for a conference. Upon arrival our room booked was not available, so they put us in a closet with 2 full beds. After calling the front desk, our room was magically available now. Unfortunately it seems housekeeping was too busy pooping in my toilet to clean the rest of the bathroom. Seems to be a general lack of bathroom cleansing across the board at Omni. Be prepared to pay über $ 20 plus dollars to get anywhere worth seeing.

My mom and I stayed here the night before my wedding. I was expecting to be pampered and at least be treated nicely, however what I got was a night full of rude encounters with people who shouldn’t be in the service industry. My mom and I arrived to the self parking garage to one of the golf carts out of service on a ramp in the garage. There was one employee attempting to push the dead golf cart into a parking spot. My mom and I walked up and began helping this employee move the golf cart, all while he was cursing and speaking poorly about the Omni company not maintaining the golf carts as they should. After my mom and I worked up a sweat pushing this heavy cart into the parking spot, the employee stomped off back toward the hotel. There was not one single word of gratitude, like our assistance was just expected and we didn’t deserve any appreciation. This negatively affected the rest of our stay and we were very displeased with the rest of the front door staff this said employee worked alongside. They were all aloof, unhelpful and frankly rude. The hotel was beautiful and the grounds were gorgeous. Breakfast was exquisite, and the service there in the restaurant was decent. I think there are far better service equipped hotels in the area where I will choose to stay instead.

Beautiful resort in Barton Creek! Came here for a 2 day conference with RE/​MAX. The valet was prompt to greet us. Check-​in literally took only 2 or 3 minutes … the fastest I have ever experienced in any hotel or resort.
The rooms are clean, updated and comfortable EXCEPT for the bed … super firm mattress that I did not enjoy sleeping on! Get better mattresses!
We had a great time hanging out in the Lounge, too, but due to the crazy RE/​MAX crowd, the bartenders had a hard time keeping up. Apparently they didn’t get the memo that Realtors like to drink … a lot. LOL!
I would stay here again, even given the hard mattresses!

Wow. Great place to stay for a few days. The people are kind and attentive. We did not have to ask for much because it was always there. Restaurants and food we terrific. Great golf courses and views. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather, upper 80’s and low humidity. Could not ask for a better stay. There is only one problem, we have to go home. Thanks Omni Barton Creek resort.

2.4 STARS: Stayed here for eight hours tops! The Manager probably thought I was some cheapskate looking for a free night. I’m not, I just like staying at resorts in Texas a writing reviews about them. She’ll soon see this when she trolls through my profile. We checked in late and I was very tired. The hallway spelled like smoke but I know this was a smoke free facility… I think.
The room was a simple layout but the bathroom had an extra sink which was convenient. The lighting was lack lusted but the view was very very nice.
The most annoying parts: I just wanted to watch some sports center and fall asleep BUT the cable hookup was ripped out of the wall so there was no way in hell I was getting TV. I called the front desk to report the issue in hopes of them comping my room or giving me a slight discount seeing that i was checking out at 7am and didn’t want to be moved to another room mainly because my wife was pregnant and already in bed.
All night I kept hearing this ticking sound that became annoying. I found the source to be the fridge. It was simply just doing it’s thing but not in silence so another reason I wished we had more time to spend here and move to another room.
Wall plugs: Some worked and some didn’t making it a scavenger hunt to find the right plug that would charge my phone successfully over night.
Finally, the sheets are not that soft for a «Resort.» The mattress is basic and could use some improving. The décor is very nice giving this 18^th century feel mixed in with a little 19^th century flair. I liked the set up.
When checking out I spoke to both the front desk staff and the manager. I reported all the complaints found above and politely asked her for some type of courtesy service as in discount or comping. We only stayed there to sleep and had to deal with a bunch of annoying issues. The manager took my info and said she would check into all the issues and reach out to me at a later time. SHE NEVER FOLLOWED UP meaning she probably thought I was some cheapskate looking for a free night. I’m not, I just like staying at resorts in Texas a writing reviews about them. Gorgeous 4 star resort and grounds, but 2 star rooms.
We really enjoyed our stay here, and loved the area. The hotel is nestled into the rolling hills, and has amazing panoramic views from inside the lobby, and our room had a great view of the pool.
Staff was great, and very courteous, and helpful.
Our only issue is that the hotel looks extremely outdated, and in need of a major makeover. The carpet was torn in our room, looked dirty, and the furniture was tattered. The only saving grace was the bathroom was clean, and our bed was very comfortable.
Views from our room were spectacular, but we didn’t spend much time in there as we were out and about.
The pool area also needs some serious renovating, however the grounds, and view again, are gorgeous.
Overall, this is a great place to stay, but don’t expect a totally updated hotel. We’ve stayed in other hotels in downtown Austin for the same price, and will be staying there instead of this. Really wish this resort would update the lobby, rooms etc because it’s a fantastic area, nestled in the hills, and away from the city, but until they update it, we will not be staying, as the price does not seem to coincide with the quality of the rooms.

I should have the reviews on Unilocal before coming here. I travel quite a bit for work and stay at average places like a Hilton Express and I’ve been to some high end places like the Sofitel, Ritz, four seasons, etc. this place is a Day’s Inn dressed in Ritz clothing. The service is well below average and the room, while clean and comfortable, are nothing special. I have yet to explore the entire grounds but so far I’m disappointed.
On this stay we reserved a pack-​n-​play for our two year old several days in advance. When we checked in at 5pm they said they would have it up to us right away. At 8pm they called to tell us they ran out of them. I went downstairs to eat by the pool and the service was mediocre at best. The waiter wasn’t friendly and tried to rush away quickly in the middle of my order.
I noticed, too late of course, that many of the reviews mention several issues with service. Wish I had checked first.

What a fantastic 4^th of July we had at the Resort! (Actually celebrated on July 3^rd so families could be at other events on the 4^th.) My sister-​in-​law and her hubby invited us to join them and friends for an amazing meal, exciting fireworks and the spectacular Guy Forsythe and his band! There was a fabulous salad buffet, main food buffet featuring delicious BBQ (and a pig’s head), and a dessert buffet with peach cobbler, pecan pie, ice cream, cookies and other delights.
Oh my what little patriotic piggies we were! After dinner, we had a night cap in the beautiful and comfy bar. The Omni organizes this event every July 4^th weekend. If you book a room or if you are a club member, you may enjoy the $ 41 per person meal and great entertainment. It is well worth the cost.

My review is based solely off of the golf courses. I’ve had a chance to play the Krenshaw course twice and it is a a beautiful course. This is supposedly the worst of the three courses, so I cannot even imagine how nice the other two courses are. They have a great pro shop and the courses are in great shape. Definitely golf here if you get the chance.

This facility is absolutely beautiful but the service is sorely lacking. For the prices they charge, you shouldn’t have to wait a half hour for a drink from the pool bar. This happened to us multiple times during the day which is not acceptable. The staff made several comments about being short staffed at the resort and we could certainly see it. It was a very disappointing experience in a lovely environment.

I’m not sure that being an Omni loyalty member means anything. I wrote on my profile that I prefer to be away from the elevator, yet was given a room directly across from the elevator. When I walked all the way back down to registration, I was given another room… with a view of a roof and air conditioning unit.
The restaurants and facilities are nice, but for the price I expected more from the room (including someone actually attending to my loyalty club profile requests). When I stay somewhere for a 3 day conference, I’d like to be able to work, relax, and sleep in the room, and this room is big, but has no comfy chairs to relax, just two wingbacks.
On top of all that, my TV didn’t work and I had to get the AV department to fix it, and I didn’t receive the Select Guest perks that I was supposed to. Good grief.
Overall, this place is lovely, but the details that would make it great are not there. Disappointing.

Staying here the night after our wedding, my wife and I loved the view, the accommodations, and the location. Perhaps we were in the clouds, but I still think that the experience would be enjoyable in any season of life.
You’ll pay a pretty penny to set up shop here, but I would definitely recommend the Omni for anyone needing a splurge of a stay. Plus, for anyone who golfs, I believe that they have one of the highest acclaimed courses in the state.
The breakfast buffet lends itself to all sorts of filling, yet healthy options. Typical offerings, but certainly done up a notch. Rooms are clean-​cut, and they cater to whatever needs you have.
Aside from the price tag, staying here is wholly worth it.

Three stars because of Russ and his efforts to help us through the maze of inaccessibility. Two stars for the actual hotel experience.
This hotel is not suitable for any one with a disability. I am an occupational therapist and often consult on environmental modifications. I also use a small wheelchair for mobility. This hotel desperately needs major updating. Upon driving up to the property there are no signs for handicapped parking, just for the valet or the parking lot. We went to the parking lot. there is no handicapped parking here. It is a major impossible trek to get to the hotel from this parking lot if using a wheelchair. I am young, and athletic… And still this was impossible for me due to the major incline. When arriving at the entrance, we noted there were handicapped parking spots… All taken up by the valet cars. Huh. well that was interesting.
They do have ADA rooms. but good luck getting there. The man at check in desk gave us a map of how to get to the room. This route included a ramp that had a sign saying «not for wheelchairs». This was another steep incline intended for luggage only. I have been to third world countries that had better wheelchair access than this place.
Getting to the dining room was another adventure, and this is where Russ (from the gym) really stepped up to help us out. He took us on a long, but accessible route with real ADA ramps. We were given a free breakfast by management when we arrived, which we didn’t ask for, but was a nice gesture.
Besides the accessibility issues, the hotel rooms seem old and need updating. Overall, it was a good location for the business we had in Austin, but we definitely won’t be back.

We stayed here over the weekend for a quick getaway, and it was an awesome stay! We were surprised by the large size of the room, i could literally do 3 cartwheels from wall to wall! the bathroom was huge too! We spent the first day exploring and worked out at the gym. they have some TRX equipment, which i experimented with. Their weight room is well equipped and has plenty of room for stretching and yoga. They also have classes for gym members which hotel guests can use too. The outdoor pool isnt anything special, but has a spectacular view of mansions in the mountains and overlooks the golf course. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly!
The bad:
our bed was not very comfortable and very springy. only one elevator was working when we visited (last week). We wanted to golf, but it was very pricey, about 180 per person. more than our stay (no thanks)
Overall: relaxing getaway from Houston, easily accessible, friendly staff
