Michael, the present owner, and his guys are really honest mechanics in a time when those in the profession are often looking to make an easy dollar without any consideration to the actual problem that needs fixing and your budget. Ask these guys for an oil or brake pads change, you’ll see what I mean in terms of getting satisfactory work with an education on the best plan of action going forward.

These guys are great, honest, fairly priced and they back up their work. They did a lot of extra work on my Mazda cx7 for next to nothing. I would highly recommend these guys

My wife’s Chevy SUV was in need of a fix to the AC/​Heating system. I was certain that I knew what the problem was but didn’t feel comfortable enough to do the work myself. At first I decided to give the Chevy Dealership an opportunity to repair it as I tend to be loyal to places that provide good enough service and up until recently I had been satisfied with the service the dealer gave me. That all changed when I tried to make time to take my vehicle into the dealer. I had the worst experience with simply trying to get in for a diagnosis. They treated me poorly and never took ownership of the situation. The dealer lost me as a customer.
I previously ran across a great review online about New Tech Automotive and specifically the owner Michael. I reached out to him and he made time to speak with me right away. He said he was available as soon as the next morning to look at my vehicle. He let me know exactly was was wrong and didn’t press on with other unnecessary repairs. Less than 36 hours later my vehicle was repaired at an extremely reasonable price, much less than I expected to pay at the dealer. I really appreciate his straightforward approach and the convenient service I was provided. I’ve worked in customer service for several years and it’s so good to come across a person/​company that provides the best service possible to their customers. I will definitely give New Tech Automotive the opportunity should future repair or service needs arise.

I put a lot of miles on my old 1998 Subaru. I was driving down South Congress and my front left brake was SMOKING, like pungent, billowing smoke. I saw a small shop with a sign that said «FREE BRAKE CHECK’ and immediately pulled in. Had to wait about 25 minutes before they could even touch it due to the temperature. Sadly the car is originally from Minnesota, where rust never sleeps. The caliper pins were so rusted that they weren’t disengaging properly. Scary! Both front discs, pads and calipers needed to be replaced. Michael, the owner, was incredibly up front and honest with me, with a genuinely helpful demeanor. He even shows you
for other quotes. He charged me roughly half of what I could have expected to pay, and took care of it within 3 hours of me arriving.
People forget the value of a smaller shop. People also forget that mechanics are often hardworking people trying to help you solve big problems during stressful times. I would wager that 80% of complaints with mechanics in general are involving a distrust of the service technicians, or else just a sore spot caused by having to deal with the financial setback of an unscheduled repair. I obviously wasn’t thrilled to be putting more money into my 18 year old car, but thats just the reality of the situation. And both the cost and quality of work done matched up and felt fair. Simple as that. I am no mechanic, but have had enough experience with a Haynes manual and online repair forums to know an honest mechanic when I see one. I will be going back to New Tech often and will recommend it to friends. Thanks Michael!

I decided to have NewTech do my routine oil change and fix the leak in my front tire. The deciding factor in me posting my experience on Unilocal is because I am a woman in a male-​dominated industry and have been taken advantage of before by mechanic shops and car dealers in the past. Needless to say, this is the first time I can remember feeling valued and a part of an informed decision.
The past 2 oil changes on my 2014 Chevy Spark were done at an ASE certified mechanic shop on Hwy 71 in Bee Cave and they were using the wrong oil in my new car. Michael, at NewTech, mentioned how black the old oil was though I was only a little overdue on the scheduled maintenance. He confirmed with the owner’s manual the correct synthetic oil and asked me what kind of oil the previous shop had used. I did not know so I called Qual Tech to ask. They had been using a poor-​grade, conventional oil when my car specifically calls for a synthetic oil.
I appreciate the knowledge and care these guys took in the maintenance of my car. The cost was a little more than I had paid before but I will invest in my car because I rely on it everyday. You get what you pay for — I will not pay for the wrong product nor will I be a patron of a business that lacks to professional know-​how to do a job right.

Michael and his employees gave me back the car I bought 9 years ago.
They found a few more things than initially I was told (issues that dealer and other mechanic told me would come up), they gave me a very fair labor quote and parts quote. Very little up charge.
She is running beatifully.
Michael, let me know when i can pay for lunch for you and your people. Y’all deserve that at least.

This review is long over due. I brought my Mini Cooper in after taking it two other shops and spending over $ 1,500 (without fixing the issue). I told the manager that my car was stalling out on the freeway and that the Mini dealership told me it was just bad gas. After months of an unreliable car, I brought my car in and they fixed her up. It was the most reasonable bill I’ve ever received from a mechanic… it was about 45% less than the dealership. They called multiple times to let me know what was going on and they truly tried to find the best deal on the parts needed for the repair. So professional! Thank you again.

We all hate to spend money at the mechanic but when they make it a good experience and fix your car doesn’t hurt so bad. My car feels like a dream now. I will travel south to get my car looked at here in future as needed. Good luck with business Mike!!!

This used to be Robert’s Automotive. We took our cars to Robert’s for 30 plus years. Robert was totally great to take your car to. He was honest and competent. We recently took our 2003 Honda to this shop because the air conditioning stopped working. Chris, the new auto mechanic, went «above and beyond» to get the air conditioner in working condition. Kudos to the new owner for hiring Chris. Also, Chris has a great personality and a lovely wife.
