RJ was fantastic at our wedding reception last night. Not only is he a great guy but a great DJ. Our guests loved him, he kept us organized, and played some great songs in addition to the ones we picked. He was very personable with us and our guests, for which we received many compliments. He met us with us twice before the event and stayed in touch throughout the process. I have zero complaints. GIVE HIM YOUR MONEY! It’s worth it.

I was just watching out wedding video on our anniversary and was reminded of the only thing that wasn’t perfect on our wedding day. He arrived later than expected to one world theater saying he was up all night. He was extremely rude as was his assistant that was there at setup.
He had agreed to connect our iPod for per reception music since he didn’t want to set up in two places and wouldn’t do it the day of.
He had said he would go by the venue prior to arrange placement but never did. When arrived late with his assistant barking orders at me, he made the venue rearrange the buffet station to accommodate him.
We provided a playlist and specifically told him to stick to it. He did not. In fact, he even played the WRONG song for our first dance. We had to have the wedding coordinator stop in The middle of the reception in order to speak with him about following our directions.
He also promised a number of «extras» to justify his pricy fee such as a cd of all the songs. He didn’t deliver anything.
It’s a good wedding story after the fact but was definitely the low point of the entire wedding.
I would steer clear of DJ RJ unless you want to pay a high rate to play the wrong music, cause problems with other (prepared) vendors and to give you a nasty attitude.

If you want someone who cares as much about your wedding as you do, it’s RJ. He was our DJ for our March 28 wedding and was literally the ONLY vendor that we had absolutely zero worries about. Meet him and you’ll see how much he cares about what he does and what he can bring to your special day. Always kind, professional, and prompt. He was unbelievably flexible with the playlist — mixing it up with songs we requested and songs he knew our guests would like. It also rained right before our outdoor ceremony and he handled the weather without skipping a beat. His dance floor lighting made the reception electric! He also worked seamlessly with our photographer and videographer. We’re so thankful RJ was our DJ!!!

We booked DJ R.J. for our wedding this past January early on in the planning process. We first sat down with R.J. in May to discuss his services and from the get go he was extremely professional, organized and helpful. We quickly decided to book R.J. as his passion for what he does is evident and he was willing to work with us to give us the party we wanted! His follow up and follow through were incredible. He even reached out to our parents for song requests and was very courteous with guest requests at the wedding. R.J. goes above and beyond! The software he uses to capture your song timeline is straightforward and user friendly. Since I planned my wedding without a planner and on a budget R.J.‘s timeline was incredibly helpful to me/​us in executing our plans. R.J. works very hard and is detail oriented. He truly goes above and beyond for his customers. If you have any DJ needs I highly recommend R.J. He is not only thorough and professional he is also fun!

I was beyond impressed with dj RJ Johnson with Music4Life! I had high expectations because I had read amazing reviews about him on Unilocal.Sure enough, he was just as wonderful as I had hoped. His online event planner was amazing and fun and definitely helped me stay organized with my entire reception planning. I was even able to use it with my wedding coordinator and other vendors to keep everyone on the same page. RJ went above and beyond with his phone calls to parents, check-​in calls and texts to me, and additional meetings to ensure my wedding reception was perfect. He even helped with some creative planning to make my wedding reception unique and special. The flow of my reception was perfect and it went exactly how I wanted it to, only because of RJ’s attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to giving the bride and groom what they want. The only reason I am not giving RJ 5 stars is that Unilocal starts penalizing people who get all 5 stars thinking they are contrived. So please consider this a FIVE STAR review. RJ has just the right personality to move your event along. His knowledge of music and sound is immense. These days, there are people who promote themselves as a DJ after buying some equipment and downloading some iTunes. But a real DJ is the emcee of your event. And that requires not only the right equipment, but the right personality to interact with your guests and keep the energy flowing in an upward trajectory. A bad DJ can otherwise ruin your wedding in so many ways. This is not something you want to skimp on.

I highly recommend RJ Johnson for a wedding or any special occasion. He made me and my husband feel so special. RJ has a wide selection of music and goes out of his way to make sure your day is perfect. His professionalism far exceeded my expectations, and I will not think twice about using him for special events in the future. He is worth every cent! I couldn’t be more happy with his services!

The first vendor we hired was RJ the DJ for our daughter’s unique rustic wedding. The music to us would be the key to this «tailgate party“theme. RJ and Maria (his lovely wife) soon became one of us. They are easy to talk with, they listen to what it is you want and offer suggestions that may be useful for your individual preferences. They really take the time to get to know you! Their skills are incredible… incredible enough that we kept them on another hour after the scheduled shut down time. Music4Life is the DJ you need to be confident that the music and MC will be good and everyone will enjoy your party. RJ Johnson was the DJ for my wedding on May 5^th, and he did an excellent job. When I met him I felt comfortable because he has the experience and professionalism that I was looking for as I planned my wedding day. He has the best technology, including a software program where you can pick out songs you want played (there are even suggestions and you can listen to each song!), and the song quality was perfect and fit the space at my reception. RJ was in touch in the months and weeks before the wedding, and he helped me think through some logistics.

RJ Johnson is a great DJ and consummate professional. I’m an event videographer and have worked events with him many times since I first met RJ in 2008. He is always patient, helpful and understanding not only to fellow vendors, but to his clients and their guests.
A recommendation for RJ would not be complete without a comment about on-​the-​job presentation & performance. Not only does RJ have a good ‘radio voice’, but he can mix music and read the crowd like a boss. He does it all with quality equipment and never has a cable or wire out of place. I’ve seen quite a few mobile DJ’s and very few bring all those qualities to every gig.

DJ RJ of Music4Life was recommended by another DJ who was booked. I can’t believe how lucky we were. The business end was handled with promptness and professionalism. We were given access to a site that helped us plan a time line and select songs. Begin part of the creative process truly made our wedding personal. The execution was flawless. RJ helped me surprise my bride with a song and then got the house jumping. By the end of the night my 75 year old mother was dancing to Bob Marley. Priceless. Can’t recommend Music4Life more highly. Phone calls and emails were returned in an extremely timely manner. RJ was always courteous and professional. I loved his online event planner! He was always on time for meetings. We met several times to carefully create a timeline for the event so that we both knew what was coming next, and what entrances and exits were expected.
He was accessible during the event if my husband and I had any requests or concerns. He and his wife were dressed very professionally and it added to the party atmosphere. The volume was perfect for the strange space. It really felt like every inch a party. We would highly recommend RJ and all of the Music4Life staff! They really care about the moments you share with your husband and your guests, and they will work hard to make sure that the party atmosphere holds all night. We had a great time, and I credit him with a lot of the fun!
