Radiator blew on me but I was luckily able to make it here. Ruben and the guys were awesome! They gave me a fair price and explained everything that they were doing. They didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need, but were extremely fair and helpful. Highly recommend these guys!

I had them put a aftermarket exhaust pipe in my 2015 lancer evolution GSR a 41,000.00 race car they told me my car was done and to pick it up. I went down there the car looked so bad I started to cry I didn’t even start the car nor get out of my rides car. The pipes where rusty and they mangled my oem parts the cut my tips off my oem and shoved them into a old rusty pipe they where unevenly cut and facing differ directions I have contacted Ruben the manager there many times and have gone down there for a refund due to they didn’t do anything right the first time. They destroyed my oem parts refused to replace it and refused to give me a refund I’ve been there 4 times since then along with calling many times. He says he cannot give me a refund until he makes money that day. I paid with a debit card! It’s been over a month! I called his supervisor and nothing has happened. I had to pay for a whole new pipe and the uninstall of the poor job they did. Still no refund 32 days after the fact. I took my car to B&B 3 days after and oh my god I should have gone there first. Perfect job from B&B the first time. They laughter at the piss poor job that Midas did. Do not take your car to Midas take it to B&B muffler automotive they are just 2 blocks away from there and will save you from brain damage. Maybe 20 years from now I’ll get a refund seems the only way this company responds is when they get a bad reputation.

The management team has contacted me about my issue and rectified the situation. The management/​owners have gone above and beyond all expectations and I will be getting my vehicles serviced through this establishment for as long as I am driving! Kudos MIDAS kudos!

I went into this establishment hoping to walk out with getting my breaks done. Sadly this was not the case. Originally when I called to set up the appointment it was supposed to be for both breaks and an alignment job. Well, as it would happen, I lucked out that the machine they use for the alignment job was broken. As to why I was not told this over the phone when I called in to schedule an appointment, I will never know.
Upon my arrival had known that I would be paying for more than just my break pad replacement I would have shopped around. When they took the car and put in on the lift, their twenty minute exam came back with a host of problems. They didn’t show me any of it nor attempt to educate me on why this was going on. However, I could hear a grinding noise along with a burning smell, so I took them at their word.
I was quoted a two hour time frame in which the work would be completed in. Sadly this was not true either. About an hour into the work, I get a phone call from the front desk telling me the damage to my rotor was to severe. In their attempt to buffer out the issue, they went to deep. Naturally before calling me to let me know what was going on they do the damage and then call me. The words over the phone summed up to be they had buffered it down to such an unsafe level they could not legally put my vehicle back together and out on the road. He then goes on to inform me that it is going to be another 200+ dollars to get fixed. At this point they had me on the hook. There was nothing I could have done except have a tow truck come get my vehicle and take it to a different shop to get a fair treatment and not be screwed over.
When all was said and done my bill game out be over 700 dollars and wasted almost four hours of my day. This of course is after I was quoted two hours for the full job. In the end, I simply signed the paperwork in an effort to get out of their taking my keys and hoping that would be the last of it. Sadly as I get back into my car I notice there is oil on my steering wheel which I got over my hands and pants. Needless to say I will never do business with them again and would recommend virtually any other mechanic.

To update… my kia has found a permanent place in the garage until I can make time to have a professional do an actual oil change on my vehicle. To note is was contacted by a regional manager. Set up a time to have the oil change corrected at his store.. drove 45 minutes only to be told he wasn’t there and they had no idea what I was talking about and could come back later that evening.. because that’s what I want to do. … lose more work time over a fraudulent oil change. …

Shame on Midas! Is it because I’m a woman? Or that I brought my baby with me?
Why would you say my struts were broken, when a competitor did not find broken struts.
Turns out, I only needed a basic alignment. $ 80. Not $ 600 – 1,300, as quoted by Midas for the strut repair.

I left as soon as I smelled pot. I used to come here years ago but I guess all the guys get moved around. I have nothing against pot but when you are working with heavy equipment, its a no go for me.

Took my car in for a brake check and came out $ 58 in the hole, with an estimate of $ 2000 repairs.
I explained the reason for the check but it didn’t seem to click. The guy, Manuel, was very friendly and explained everything. The service, though, not satisfied.

I knew that it was going to be expensive to replace my bearings but these guys did a great job. The manager was very friendly and knowledgeable about how to get my car fixed up. They even stayed past closed to make sure I could get my car back that day! Thank you guys

I’ve been going to this Midas for a few years and I’ve always been treated very well.
About a year ago, my engine started stalling/​cutting off in traffic at low speeds. I brought it to a parts store/​service place to have the check-​engine light reading taken, and they quoted me $ 200 for the part and the labor. I bought the part for $ 40 and took it across the street to Midas and they did the labor for $ 120. Fixed the problem and it hasn’t recurred.
Last week, my check engine light comes on again. P0420 for my 2004 Nissan Sentra. Another parts store, tells me to take it to a muffler place and see if my catalytic converter needs replaced ($$). I take it to this Midas and I tell the manager, Manuel, the check-​engine code number and my car year/​make/​model, and he instantly knows what I’m talking about and talks about the most common causes he’s seen for that happening with that car. They take it in a half-​hour before they close and do a quick look and find the oxygen sensor doesn’t have a tight seal where it’s mounted. They took the O2 sensor off, welded where it needed fixing and replaced the O2 sensor. Their parts runner grabbed the wrong replacement sensor, so they had me come in the next day and comped me an oil change for my trouble. Not the first time they’ve helped me out at or near closing time.

I posted a picture of the condition I got my vehicle back. Fortunately, the manger paid for my vehicle to be cleaned. But the fact that an employee would be so careless with a customer’s property says a lot about the business.

My car recently broke down while I was in Austin. So I was relieved when I saw Midas right down the street. They took my car in and less than 10 minutes later they tell me I need to replace the radiator. They wanted to charge $ 1,200 for parts and labor. I looked on line and found the radiator for less than half of what they were charging thru Pep Boys. I ended up asking them to hold the car over the weekend and I would bring the parts myself. After some research I decided to have my car towed to a different shop to get a second opinion. When I got to Midas they had already taken apart the front end of my car (although I had told them I would be getting the parts myself since they didn’t even have them in stock so I didn’t see the need for that). They tossed all the parts in my back seat and charged me $ 70 for nothing. Long story short, my car actually needed a new engine. So they were going to charge me $ 1200 for a radiator when that wasn’t even the problem. I can only imagine how insane the charges would have been had I left my car. To make matters worse, I later noticed they tore the leather in my back seat when they threw all the parts back there. I can not warn you enough to stay away from this place!

Went in because i was hearing a grinding sound with my breaks, but only after my car had been cooking in the hot Austin august heat. Took it in and the guys looked it over and took it for a drive. Gave me an honest report that I really did not need any work on my car and my break pads were at half life and did not need replacing. They didnt even charge me for the inspection! Only thing that was odd was they cranked my stereo on a random station. *honest mechanic* will be coming back

Went there for an annual state inspection. Took a half hour longer than I was told. No big deal. Paid my bill and drove over to Oak Hill to get my license plates. Problem. The navigation system miraculously stopped working. Called them up and before I could finish they started saying it was not their fault.
I immediately drove back over and demanded they look at it. Supposedly the manager looked at it and said they had nothing to do with it. The guy was awful.
I don’t care other than the hassle of now taking it to the dealer, as the car is under warranty. However I would strongly recommend going elsewhere based upon my interaction with them.

I had a GREAT experience at this location. The manager, Rick, and his crew were awesome, fast and courteous. But more importantly they were fun people with smiles all around! That’s really rare these days and very comforting to a new customer. Rick seems very professional. I normally HATE when I get an up-​sell into more costs but he was very pleasant and considerate and backed off at the right time giving me time to think. We’re taking our cars there instead of Christian Brothers from now on.

If give this place no stars I would! They are terrible. I went in because my car wouldn’t start; they told me it was just my timing belt (there is a $ 108 diagnostic fee) so I said okay just replace the part; they them call me back and say it’s not just the timing belt but the pulley too. I still said okay go ahead an replace it. WELL they call me back again and say it’s my entire engine! LIARS! I asked a few of my mechanic friends and they said that’s not the case and to get a second opinion. It turned out to be just the belt. These people are unprofessional and rip offs!!! Don’t do business here.
They are not certified technicians, and hire anyone just off the streets. Horrible horrible experience!

Eeky feeling place, nothing seemed cleaned even inside. I’m not sure what they guys «inspected» but I was in and out in about 5 minutes, no joke. I guess thats good though, not that I’m complaining. Beyond that I can’t speak for their service.
I made an «appt» via their website, but never received a confirmation phone call, like it said that I would. Oh well.

I called to have my vehicle towed due to inspection sticker being out of date. $ 600.00 later, and I still have no inspection sticker. My battery went dead and apparently you have to drive the car around a little before the inspection can be done. Fine. Yes. I understand.
I guess no one at this location has a driver’s license.
Just to be very clear, I called them on the phone and specifically said I needed it towed because it needed an inspection sticker, and that the sticker was the primary issue I wanted addressed.
Save yourself the trouble and gnaw on the end of a loaded shotgun while tickling the trigger with your big toe rather than going here.

Where are the negative stars when we need them! (Priceless Oil Change)
I have to say that I have been to several Midas locations in several different states and the experience that my assistant is currently incurring has me on the brink of calling HQ, while calling the police and demanding the release of the vehicle.
If it were not for the fact that the lady that I sent in to take care of the truck could not hold her own (she has worked on professional race car teams) I could almost guarantee that she would have been walking out with:
NEW BRAKE PADS
NEW BRAKE ASSEMBLIES
NEW ROTORS & EVERY OTHER NEW PART THEY COULD CAJOLE HER INTO!
This is a shame and in many ways boarders on the line of a SCAM. When your company posts a $ 19.95 oil change (online) coupon that is redeemable at their location, then they should in fact ACCEPT that coupon, not heckle the person into paying full price.
Update:
I am happy to say that nearly an hour and a half later, the 27+ that was attempted to be charged was in fact settled at $ 24. Needless to say we will not be going back and we hope that in fact other UnilocalERS will heed our advice as well
