I’ve been without insurance ever since leaving my previous employer and nervous about finding out how much my meds would be without it. Well my doctor recommended this place and I was very surprised at how affordable they were. If you don’t have insurance do yourself a solid and get a quote from here first.

My daughter’s asthma and allergy doctor referred me here a few years ago and they’ve been my go-​to ever since. Friendly service and clear, precise communication. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff, great location and insanely cheap prices. This is a cash only pharmacy, so insurance will not be accepted. This place is locally owned and managed and the pharmacist is a wealth of information. You can tell this place truly cares about their customers. Don’t use the big box retailers if you’re self-​pay — this place will save you money!

So glad my doctor told me about this place… I’ve used it for years. I do have insurance, but it’s way cheaper to get generic Welbutrin here than get the name brand with my insurance at CVS. Their customer service is excellent. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

Unbelievable prices; but after speaking with Arturo he broke it down for me on how they are able to have such low costs. I saved over $ 200 on one medication. This has become my new pharmacy. It has a neighborly feel; something that is missing in our current society. I could see that the customer’s experience is impoortant to them and they definitely exhibited excellent customer service.

I cannot remember when we first started going here. My SO is self employed and was told these guys were helpful. Let me tell you — this is what a pharmacy should be… full of people who know your name, offer you detailed answers to concerns and questions about your meds, besides being caring and thoughtful people.
We love Chris (and Arturo and Mandy and…) we honestly feel like we are part of their family as well. We both have insurance that would make prescriptions cheaper but we won’t go anywhere else. They don’t accept insurance, sell only generics unless you need something else (and they often suggest you go to a regular pharmacy and use your insurance if you have it to get lower prices).
This truly is as good as it gets. We love you guys!

For several years I had to buy two very expensive brand-​name medications (the generics don’t work for me) without insurance. I got prices from every pharmacy in Austin and as far as 60 miles away — e.g. LaGrange, Llano, Seguin, Salado. MedSavers beat everyone by 10% and I’m incredibly grateful for that. However, they’re not invariably the cheapest source for a given medication. I always check several pharmacies. (Price variation among stores is astonishing. It’s rarely less than a factor of 4, sometimes as much as 7.) Sometimes MedSavers’ price is at the low end, sometimes at the high end.
MedSavers’ pharmacy stock is small, and sometimes it takes them a day or two to get meds that other pharmacies have on hand all the time. Not a huge deal, but I always phone for a refill before I’m down to my last pill.
MedSavers’ service is great and staff is friendly. Keeping in mind the two cautions I described, they’re a great pharmacy.

Just moved to Austin from California, and our 3 month old daughter had a fever, went the ER and had to find a place to get the medication. Chris was so nice and understanding. He didn’t carry that specific medication but he called all over Austin for my wife and I until he did find out where we could get it!
Absolutely wonderful to have such great help in a new city! Highly recommended and we will return!

I have filled prescriptions here a couple of times. Very fast, clean and efficient. The folks behind the counter are friendly, knowledgeable, and won’t hesitate to spend a half hour talking to you about how best to use the medication that they are prescribing.
There is just one catch — they don’t seem to take insurance of any kind.
This is actually OK, because they stock some of the rarer medications out there. So you can definitely use them, just be aware that you will have to fill out your own claim forms.

Friendly, reliable, quick to fill prescriptions and very reasonable prices. Even though I have health insurance, I still prefer going here for my prescriptions because at Medsavers I pay less for the prescriptions, they are filled without grief or getting stuck in a line for 45 minutes, and, because I’m paying out of pocket, it keeps the health insurance companies out of my business. Medsavers is a great business that has been a huge help in keeping our healthcare costs down.

Seriously, the best pharmacy ever. I went here for the first time last year, and they are awesome! The pharmacists made sure I had all of the info I needed for my prescriptions, and they only charge you for exactly what the medication costs, which makes them the cheapest in town. Super helpful if you don’t have insurance.

This pharmacy is as good as it gets. Seriously. SO kind, so helpful and I haven’t even walked into the place yet! Needed to transfer an expensive RX from Fort Worth to Austin, they handled ALL of this by email after I sent an email asking at midnight. By 10am they had answered and were assisting me in a refreshing kind way. I know I will be coming here for as long as I live in Austin! Walgreen’s, CVS, Walmart just cant compare. Even when I have insurance coverage I will pay cash and be paid back by my insurance. They’re that great.

I am an avid supporter of locally owned businesses. Buying from these businesses will keep Austin money in AUSTIN ! Chris and his staff are awesomely good people and they will take great care of you. I, too, own an Austin business, The Sleep Center of Austin, and I encourage my staff and patients to try Medsavers. I have never been disappointed.

Great service and low prices. Costco may have cheaper generics but Medsavers is really close. They are wonderful people as well. CVS and Walgreens really kill you prices even when it is a generic.

Being a HAAM patient I was pretty much stuck getting prescriptions filled at the ghetto HEB on 7^th & Pleasant Valley. Waiting in long lines for hours with psychos and hobos only to be told by a minimum wage jerk with an attitude problem that your meds aren’t ready or aren’t covered anymore is pretty much the norm.
I was referred to Chris and Med-​Savers and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone there is friendly and knowledgable. They even remember me by name and ask how I’m doing. One time I was out of town and missed getting a refill and they called to check on me! Chris is there to answer any questions without attitude and always makes time to say hello. It’s obvious that they care about their customers and we’re not just a commodity or just another thing to get in the way of quitting time.
The prices are usually way cheaper than big box pharmacies (at least for my meds) HEB, CVS, and Walgreens were trying to get $ 300/​mth for one of my scripts. Med-​Savers came in at $ 60/​mth for the SAME stuff. Even though I can sometimes get prescriptions for $ 5 through HAAM at HEB, I will actually pay MORE to go to Med-​Savers because they are so awesome to deal with. And they’re local. My money is going to a real Austin person not some faceless greed-​monger corporation.
Anyway, Med-​Savers is the place to go. They will save you money and time and more importantly they will make a trip to the pharmacy a pleasant experience. I always look forward to going there to pick up my meds. The cute pharmacy tech gals are an added bonus as well.

As it turned out, my husband needed a certain brand of medication that only Medsavers carried for a higher cost than your average pharmacy. But at least they had it. That was all we needed to know as we came in today to drop it off. The lady who helped us was as sweet as pie. We waited for a brief minute for them to get the medication ready, then before we knew it, we checked out and were on our way home.
See, CVS/​Walgreens, it isn’t that hard to stay awake and be friendly to your customers while offering to help resolve the shortage issue the best way you can. Oh, and being drug-​free helps, too.

This is a long overdue update to my previous review of Medsavers – before I’d done business with them.
I’ve had two occasions since March to fill prescriptions here for a family member. In each case, Chris has been able to save big-​time bucks for this person who has no prescription drug coverage.
The fill times have been much shorter than at HEB and about on par with my local CVS – which is to say fast (15 – 30 minutes). The prices are incredible, and the customer service can’t be beat.
It’s the same McKesson truck that drops off medications to MedSavers as drops off medications to CVS and HEB. And, you don’t have to worry that questionable cut-​rate generics are being substituted as is the case with some of the majors.
Five stars without even thinking about it!
