I disagree with the posts, placement is provided. Graduating from MediaTech has opened a lot of doors for me that I never knew could. NO I wasn’t making 40k a year straight out, but this the starving artists/​music industry world! You get what you put into it. The instructors are knowledgable and professional along with the staff! Don’t judge this school off these reviews, go in and make the judgement for yourself. I definitely got my 20k worth and then some with what I learned from here.

I agree with everything the other reviews have said so far, except for the staff being friendly and knowledgable. That I find a bit of a stretch from my time and experience there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone but my sworn enemies, mainly because I wouldn’t want people I care about to waste $ 20K or more on this joke of an institution. You won’t have the resources you need, the classes are a joke and the job placement after you graduate is non-​existent. Please save yourself the money and time and go somewhere else or teach yourself. Wish I had!

The teachers are great! Knowledgeable, warm and friendly. One of them is a resource for jobs who is known in the industry. However, the school has no job placement. Wait — they do– its their office. Once you finish working they may give you a job working on campus
Otherwise, they give you a 3 page sheet filled with outdated job links (one was a Korean restaurant, some were music sites from 1997, some had
, one of the links was Craigslis as if I never thought about looking on Craigslist for jobst). I told them when I signed up that I would like job placement when I was moving across country and they told me it was available. When I got to California after getting my diploma, I called the office and they said ‘its really hard to develop contacts’ and they (the school) was working on it themselves. I called a few months later and they gave me some links that I would’ve found myself, but no jobs that are directly due to the fact I attended their school.
I don’t know if its the standard in other schools but I was shocked to find that they won’t let you keep your books. I spent $ 20K for the year and had to buy the books seperately.
The music business class was a joke. The teacher read from one of his books literally 20 minutes straight. The other teacher was so busy that he never had time to teach anything.
One of the studios was so dirty I found six dead roaches there. I took pics to show it to them before they believed me and eventually they cleaned it up.
I wouldn’t do it again. I would take my money and find the teachers who teach there and see if I could study with them privately.

The equipment selection at this MediaTech campus is very meager compared to their other locations. It’s unfortunate that the students have to pay such a steep tuition for a certificate in a specialized field, yet they don’t have access to a well equipped studio/​lab to practice that craft.
The staff is nice, helpful and knowledgable. The MediaTech Austin school director doesn’t come from an audio/​film industry background, so the priority for repairs and equipment aren’t really put into action in a timely manner to keep things running smoothly. This can eventually become an issue for day to day functions of the school.
These students shouldn’t be viewed as customers. They deserve to get what they paid for; which is a lot more than this school can offer.
