Meet the Business Owner

Matthew L.

Business Owner

After five years working at SafePlace, a mental health agency which serves individuals, families, and groups recovering from sexual abuse and domestic violence, I’ve learned that sometimes talk therapy alone isn’t enough. Often the nervous system is under-functioning and needs a specific type of support. To this end, I have gravitated towards training in somatic (body/mind) theory and application, as well as creative therapies which provide for left and right brain integration.

My aim is to offer a psychotherapy process which integrates the best of Western Psychology, emerging stress physiology research, and other healing arts. My journey has been shaped by my own experiences in therapy, the creative arts, and meditative traditions including Vipassana Buddhism, Christian Centering Prayer, and Ashtanga Yoga. I believe in the importance for spiritual seekers to address relational and psychological health as foundational to their path.
