At Mathnasium of Steiner Ranch, we help kids understand math by teaching the way that makes sense to them. Children who consistently attend sessions at our learning centers enjoy a transformative learning experience and make huge strides in the classroom. When math makes sense, kids develop a more positive attitude toward math. Our highly skilled Mathnasium instructors teach for understanding, giving students the ability to succeed in any math environment. As Larry Martinek, Mathnasium’s Chief Instructional Officer notes, «It’s pretty easy to forget things you memorize and near impossible to forget things you understand.» When kids learn math in a way that they truly understand, they achieve greater success in the classroom.

History

Established in 2009.

Mathnasium of Steiner Ranch helps kids boost their math skills. We are passionate about teaching our students in Steiner Ranch, River Place, Hudson Bend and Four Points. Our customized curriculum helps kids improve and excel in math through our year-​round and summer math programs.

Meet the Business Owner

Lakshmi K.

Business Owner

Lakshmi has a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science from India and a second Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. While working with a non-​profit organization and tutoring middle school students in math, Lakshmi became aware of the achievement gap that exists among school age children and how schools are not able to help every individual overcome the obstacles that keep them from progressing and enjoying math. Lakshmi’s father, her role model and guide, is a teacher by profession, and has inspired her to follow in his footsteps. She was attracted to Mathnasium because of the difference she can make in a child’s life and the chance to inspire them. She has observed that many kids are intimidated and afraid of math and she looks forward to the opportunity to help the children in her community learn to love numbers and math as she does. Lakshmi feels blessed with a wonderful family and enjoys spending time with them and doing crosswords and sudoku.
