Manuel’s Famous Mole: (voted «Best Mole in Austin» by Wine Spectator)
History
Established in 1984.
Manuel’s opened for business in 1984 on Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas. Determined to realize his vision to serve regionally inspired Mexican food in a contemporary setting– a shocking concept at the time – founder Greg Koury pickaxed the concrete floors of an old jazz club by hand! Today, his wife Jennifer McNevin and longtime business partner Ahmad Modoni join him in the management of the restaurants. After 15 years of culinary awards and accolades, Manuel’s expanded by opening a second location in the Arboretum area. The group has also collaborated as the creative force behind several other successful ventures, including 612 West, The Iguana Grill, and Changos Taqueria.
